The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage

Chapter 53 - Accept My Gift

Chapter 53: Accept My Gift

Luo Xiuxiu darted a look at Jiang Xuecheng but did not respond to him. Instead, she smilingly walked past him and sat down beside Su Wan.

“You must be my granddaughter-in-law. What’s your name? How old are you? How did you get to know Xuecheng? How long have you known him for?”

She shot her with a bunch of questions. Su Wan couldn’t respond at that moment. She looked at Jiang Xuecheng as if pleading for help before she replied.

“Hello, Senior Madam. I’m Su Wan, twenty-two this year. As for how I met Xuecheng, I…”

If she were to say she had known Jiang Xuecheng for a little more than half a month, how would the senior madam regard her?

Would she think of her as a frivolous girl?

Jiang Xuecheng shot Su Wan a glance and very swiftly, he avoided the sensitive topic and saved Su Wan from replying. “Grandmother, this is Wan Wan. Wan Wan, please call her Grandmother.”

When she heard what Jiang Xuecheng said, Luo Xiuxiu’s eyes lit up and she happily agreed. “Yes, yes, calling me Senior Madam sounds distant. You will be our granddaughter-in-law from now on.”

Su Wan immediately perked up. A sweet smile blossomed across her exquisite face. “Hello, Grandmother.”

Luo Xiuxiu’s wrinkles blossomed once she heard Su Wan greeting her obediently, but she was stunned when she saw Su Wan’s smile.

When she came in, she had seen the pretty lady from afar and thought she looked familiar, but never had she expected that familiarity to become stronger when Su Wan smiled…

The exquisite little face, the pair of radiant almond eyes, and the charming dimples when she smiled looked more and more familiar.

Suddenly, Luo Xiuxiu trembled. A pretty face appeared in her mind.

Although Su Wan and that girl’s grace and charm were not exactly the same, their facial features were very similar. Did Jiang Xuecheng marry Su Wan because of the other person who had left the country?

Luo Xiuxiu sensed something amiss. Since that person left, Jiang Xuecheng had indeed stayed away from women…

Why had she not suspected that the reason Jiang Xuecheng had not looked for a girlfriend all this while was because he was waiting for his childhood lover?

Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng could sense that something was wrong with Luo Xiuxiu. Su Wan coughed lightly and the sound of it caught Luo Xiuxiu’s attention.

“Grandmother, what happened? Are you feeling unwell?”

Luo Xiuxiu regained her consciousness that had gone far. She gulped. After her astute and deep eyes turned around, a smile flashed on her face.

No matter what, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng had gotten married. This couple looked happy. It was impossible for Jiang Xuecheng and that person to get back together, so why did she even think of that?

“This is my first time meeting you. I wasn’t sure of what to give you.”

As she was talking, Luo Xiuxiu pulled her sleeves up and removed a dark green emerald bangle from her wrist, then placed in Su Wan’s palm.

Su Wan was overwhelmed by her kindness. She glanced at Jiang Xuecheng awkwardly and thought of returning the bangle to Luo Xiuxiu. However, Luo Xiuxiu gave no explanation and wore the emerald bangle on Su Wan’s delicate wrist!

Luo Xiuxiu was indeed Jiang Xuecheng’s grandmother. Their strong personalities were exactly the same!

Su Wan was at a loss. She stared at the dark green emerald bangle. Although she was not an expert in emeralds, just by the look of it, one would know this was the best of emeralds!

Su Wan didn’t feel good accepting such a big gift the first time she met an elderly. So, she started to remove the bangle.

However, before Su Wan could do so, she was stopped by Jiang Xuecheng.

“Just accept what Grandmother has given you. She has lots of jewelry and you, as her granddaughter-in-law, deserve this gift.”

Lu Xiuxiu was surprised at how Jiang Xuecheng defended Su Wan. She was a person who understood her grandson well.

From a young age, Jiang Xuecheng had been a cold person and she had never seen him show such care for anyone!

He had indeed forgotten his grandmother now that he had a wife. However, Luo Xiuxiu was happy with this development. Her smile was wide.

This eldest grandson of hers was cold and eccentric. He was not willing to stay with them at the Jiang family’s old residence and had insisted on moving out to the desolated Fontainebleau alone.

As Jiang Xuecheng had a weird disease when he was young, everyone in the Jiang family doted on this grandson the most. Now that Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan were married, this mansion had the feeling of a home.

Luo Xiuxiu’s smile was resplendent, “Yes, please accept it. You are a junior. Take this as a welcome gift.”

Hearing Jiang Xuecheng and Luo Xiuxiu echo one another, Su Wan felt more at ease and accepted the emerald bangle.

The more she looked at Su Wan’s obedient look, the more Luo Xiuxiu liked this granddaughter-in-law of hers. She got closer to Su Wan’s ears and with a fervent tone, asked, “Tell me, both of you got married so hastily. Are you pregnant?”

She had waited for so many years. Finally, she would have great-grandchildren soon!

She didn’t have to see other children running and jumping and feel jealous anymore!

Su Wan stared blankly and blurted out uncontrollably, “Pregnant?”

A dim light flashed through Jiang Xuecheng’s dark eyes. He darted a look at Su Wan and then answered Luo Xiuxiu softly.

“Not yet, but if you’re still here, it would be difficult for Su Wan to get pregnant.”

Jiang Xuecheng’s direct answer made Su Wan want to hide in the cracks of the ground.

She could still accept Jiang Xuecheng teasing her on normal days but now that an elder was here, it was embarrassing!

Luo Xiuxiu was taken aback but very quickly understood. She smiled and hit her head.

“Gosh, I’m old and have forgotten that both of you are newlyweds. I have almost spoilt the big thing! Hehe, it’s my fault…I won’t disturb you two anymore. Xuecheng, take good care of her!”

Luo Xiuxiu enjoined and before she left, she winked at Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng. Its implication made Su Wan feel awkward and she could neither cry nor laugh.

Could she tell her that she was having her period and could not complete the baby-making process with Jiang Xuecheng?

Jiang Xuecheng narrowed his eyes and his look was complicated and difficult to decipher. He whispered to Su Wan, “Did you hear what Grandmother has said?”

Su Wan’s face burned slightly. When her eyes met that pair of glistening eyes, she felt her heart skip a beat.

“But I can’t do that now.”

Jiang Xuecheng wrapped his arm around Su Wan’s waist and stared directly into her eyes. “Not right now, but you can in a few days!”
