Chapter 1462 Higher Studies II

Chapter 1462  Higher Studies II

A part of that included a demonstration of the Artica race education system. Much like the rest of the universe, the Artica realm had organizations, schools, sects and more, but what was different was their modus operandi.

Unlike the rest of the universe, where each organization or sect had their own individual movies, such as growing stronger, gaining access to more resources, or to support the founding family or person, things worked differently here.

In the Artica realm, as long as a person displayed the minimum level of competency required, they were free to join any and all forms of school or educational facility, and gain detailed guidance on the cultivation path.

In fact, it was not limited to just cultivation. Whether it was something like vocational training, science, technology, treasure manufacturing, gardening, or anything useful and productive, all of them could be openly pursued as one proved that they were worth teaching in that certain field.

The education would be completely sponsored by the Artica race. Such an approach almost made it seem like this was the perfect society, and that the Artica race was baiting others to join them. There was just one flaw in that theory - the Artica race was actively trying to prevent outsiders from coming in. They absolutely were not interested in having others become a permanent part of their realm, so there was no need to attract anyone here.

In truth, the explanation given for such a system had already been given. It was yet another protective measure to ensure the continued growth of the realm in the face of a devastating foe.

By now, Lex was no longer interested in the actual danger that the Artica race kept teasing. If they wanted to share, then they would reveal what the danger was. Or else, if Lex stayed in this realm long enough, with his luck, he'd discover it anyway. Until then, he just focused on his own things.

He wanted to join an academy focused on teaching immortals about laws - specifically, about Karma. The nearest such school was actually quite far from the azure field, so he hailed a taxi spaceship and got in.

In a matter of hours, Lex arrived at the Harmony Sect. On the surface, the sect's actual focus was on management of domestic affairs. It had little to do with combat, and all education was focused on supplementary fields. As it turned out, according to its catalogue, it taught about Karma in relation to contracts.

When he arrived, instead of taking the introductory tour which shared some basic knowledge about the Sect, he directly applied for the placement exam which would determine if he could take the classes on Karma.

Soon he was given a pencil and a piece of paper, as well as an exam sheet, and was given a deadline of one day to solve the exam. Although he had not prepared for it previously, he was confident in his ability to solve it.

Naturally, he'd sent an update to Velma and Gerard about his actions as well so that they stayed up to date in case he wasn't able to meet their deadline to meet up.

When Velma heard Lex's news she was drinking a local fruit juice, but sprayed it all out in shock!

"What is he doing?" she exclaimed in a strange mix of horror and amusement. She went through Lex's update message again one more time to be sure.

Had Lex really invited Misha out on a date, then openly and publicly gone to study at the Harmony Sect, a sect dedicated to maintaining and establishing marital harmony?!?!

Although their catalogue wrote about it in a more generic manner, giving a vague explanation of the actual content that they covered, it was widely known that their focus was on maintaining a healthy community by ensuring a fair marital relationship, whether it be through prenup contracts, health communication habits, proper conflict resolution, and more.

Velma didn't know if Lex was being incredibly bold, or he just didn't know what he was doing. She found that latter too hard to believe. Lex was a well informed, meticulous, and thorough person whose plans were difficult to see through, so maybe this was a chess move from him that she just couldn't see through at the moment.

Either way, she knew that sooner or later, most probably sooner, Misha would find out about this. After all, it was basic etiquette to look into the date's online presence, background, and other prospects before going on a date. She just wanted to be there when Misha found out. It was going to be hilarious.

But… regardless of how funny it was going to be, she restrained herself. Her goal was to learn more about any plot the bank might have towards the Inn, as well as towards the Artica realm so that they could study how the bank operates.

As such, she'd taken to infiltrating a high level networking event called a mixer. This was in no way shape or form an event for single people to search for potential partners. This was very serious business.

As proof of her claim, when she arrived at the mixer, she saw a number of Sunset Tigers, and all of them seemed to be here to meet a single person. Mira, who was Bagheera's girlfriend as well as a Sunset Tiger, was not among the group.

Now, Velma was absolutely not one to eavesdrop on others' conversations. Yet if people were careless about their communication, and she accidentally overheard their entire conversation and learned all of their plans, then she couldn't really be held accountable. This was especially because the person they were meeting was not actually meeting them in their capacity as members of the bank, but as members of a high ranking feline beast subrace.

It seemed that there was talk of an alliance by marriage, just that the bride in that marriage had not been selected yet. As it turned out, Mira was one of the suggested candidates.

Velma wondered if Mira herself was aware of this.

She grinned as mischief twinkled in her eyes.
