Chapter 2462: The Nexus Event III
Chapter 2462: The Nexus Event III
Without wasting a single moment, the two Kun Peng began to wake up all the other residents of the forest, getting ready to, at last, leave this accursed place.
The process was not long at all, and took an entirety of two seconds, as if everything had long been prepared. Then... the entire forest itself disappeared, leaving the endless army on invading Dao Lords lost and without a target.
Within the universe, a new realm appeared called the Forgotten Forest realm, and it began to rapidly head towards maturity, as if time was passing at an exponential rate. Where all this additional time was coming from was something even the two Kun Peng did not know, nor did they care.
The reason they had hidden for so long wasn’t so that they could get caught up in minor, insignificant details. They didn’t even care if their realm reached maturity or not - that was simply something their collaborator had promised them. No, all they cared about was the impending war.
Soon, a message was delivered to them, detailing all the tactical information about one of the Sage races, from their realm ownerships, to their secret weapons, back up bases, hidden contingencies and so on.
"To war," said the Kun Peng Little Blue called Mr. Big-fat-guy. Behind him, countless other Dao Lords echoed his call
"TO WAR!"
The Kun Peng released their wings and flew. They flew through their realm, through the Void, at a speed faster than light, or thought, or even teleportation, arriving upon the base of the Weaver race with a sudden ferocity that could not be contained.
The Weaver race, subjects of Destiny, and the best oracles in the universe, never saw this particular future coming, and so they were caught unprepared.
To make matters worse, at the moment of the invasion, a massive dream began to manifest above their realms, taking the shape of the Dream Arena, making all Dao Lords vulnerable. That included the Kun Peng, and the other invading Dao Lords, but they didn’t care at all.
They attacked with a ferocity that could only be cultivated by harboring a vendetta for over an age.
The attack came too suddenly and too strongly, making it impossible to resist in a short period of time, thus a few of the wiser Weavers escaped. Yet when they entered the Void, they did not find it empty as it usually was.
Instead, standing there, waiting for them, was Elizabeth the Wrathful. Behind her was an army of confused Primals.
An ominous feeling gripped the Weavers, but they tried their luck anyway. That was all they could do.
"Peacekeepers! You’re finally here! We’re... we’re being attacked!" said the leading Weaver, only to find that his body was slowly starting to disintegrate. The thing about Elizabeth - the thing that caused all to fear her - was that she never had trouble killing Dao Lords. She did not need the Dream Arena - wherever she stood became the graveyard for her enemies.
The Weaver never understood why he had been attacked, nor did the Primals behind her. The difference was that the Primals didn’t care too much either.
"The day my father let me out, we stopped being peacekeepers for this ungrateful universe," she said in a hateful, angry tone.
The next moment, another war began in the Void, stopping all escaping Weavers in their tracks. During this Nexus event, the destiny of the universe was being rewritten.

The Nexus
Jack activated the formation and finally, finally arrived at the Nexus. He had waited so many years for this moment. If his life were a book, then he would have been waiting for this moment for nearly 800 Chapters.
The journey was not easy, but he had made it here at last. But making it here was just the first step. He now had to begin construction of the Midnight Castle here, and then place the Chamber of Rebirth within. This was the ultimate contingency Lex had prepared for himself, and if his experience with the necklace had taught him anything, it was that he could never be prepared enough.
After gathering himself, Lex took a look around and immediately noticed the Nexus item! It appeared like a simple dagger, though upon further consideration Jack realized that nothing about it was simple at all.
The blade, at first, seemed to be made of a metal similar to silver, but closer inspection revealed that it was instead made of silver moonlight. The handle was made of a pure white material, almost like the purest of marble, but there was something off about it that he couldn’t discern.
The blade had no aura at all, making it perfect for assassination, but Jack had no doubt at all that it was far beyond his level. For a moment he considered taking the blade for himself, but discovered that he had some kind of internal inhibition stopping him from trying to take the dagger.
Jack had no idea if that inhibition was normal or not, but he quickly reigned in his greed and decided not to mess with anything. His goal was to create a failsafe for himself - a way to protect himself in case he ever faced death.
Jack looked away from the dagger and looked around to find that the Nexus was not too large. The ’ground’ was made up of some kind of metallic liquid, though fortunately it could not be entered, making it a decent alternative for the floor if one ignored the fact that it was constantly moving.
The boundary of the Nexus consisted of nine pillars, evenly spread to form a circle, with a transparent barrier between them. Beyond the barrier were endless clouds, hiding anything and everything from view.
The sky, too, had a limit and rose merely a couple of miles high. All in all, it was a small place, not even big enough to fit a whole town, but it was enough to fit in the Midnight Castle.
Jack immediately started working, entirely unaware that, at some point, the dagger disappeared from the Nexus, leaving it empty save him.
