The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1385: Date Set

Chapter 1385: Date Set

[Dark Universe Channel]

Inside a spaceship travelling through the Dark Universe Channel, Hunter sat comfortably in his chair, a smile playing on his lips as he watched Klaus’s reply to Rouni.

"What is so funny, bastard? This is all your fault," Elysia said with a smirk, also watching the same video.

"He is my son after all. If he didn’t have the balls to make such a statement, I would have been disappointed."

Klaus’s mother, Elysia, chuckled.

After Klaus visited them through Maud, his mom wanted to stay up to date on all the happenings involving her son, so she made them take a detour to buy some devices.

Thankfully, Hunter had the means to infiltrate a planet without triggering any alarms. So for months now, while still en route to the Beast Universe, they had been keeping track of Klaus’s activities online.

Initially, Elysia wanted them to turn back when news of Klaus’s offense against an Immortal Lord broke out.

She was so scared her son would die that, if it were up to her, she would have exposed her identity, making the entire universe go after her again, if it meant saving her son.

However, Hunter stopped her.

Now, while things aren’t that serious, the mere fact that Klaus had arrogantly accepted a duel from a true immortal whose family can be considered a major family in the entire universe just left them all feeling different emotions.

Well, Klaus’s uncles and father are happy the brat is doing well for himself. As for his mother, she was more afraid of what would happen when Klaus actually defeated Rouni.

"Relax, Elysia, he is a Hunter now; those losers will protect him long enough until we become gods and can protect him ourselves."

"I know, it’s just that he sometimes does things that make my blood boil."

"What do you expect? He is a paragon, someone who doesn’t follow the rules." Hunter was even more eager to watch the duel since it would be streamed to the entire universe.

"We are only 6 months away from the Beast Universe. Once we get there, we will find a way to call him without drawing the attention of the Heaven’s Court."

"Okay," she nodded and started reading the comments under the video. While she was a bit scared her son would be going against someone like Rouni, she was a bit excited that he was fine and free to do as he pleased.

[Planet Caelmir]

The first thing Queenie and her sisters did when they arrived on Planet Caelmir was buy communication devices to connect them to the Uniweb.

They have not yet received their IDs, so joining the Dark Space is not an option. But with access to the Uniweb, they started looking up information about Klaus.

They had already met Klaus’s grandma, uncle, and Queen Leah. So the only thing left to do was get familiar with the universe.

They were given an entire mansion. It came with a training ground and hundreds of trainers. However, before they could start anything, news of Klaus accepting Rouni’s challenge reached them.

"So you mean to say the Renegade Hunter is the paragon?" Queen Leah asked, her expression filled with shock.

The ladies laughed.

"He is the one and only Klaus Hanson, our husband."

She never expected Klaus to be the same person she had planned to reach out to for a mission.

In the past, she tried retrieving an item from a ruined planet; however, the restriction there prevented her. So when the video of Klaus’s battle with Blood Shadow spread, she wanted to hire him.

Who would have thought the person she had been preparing for her entire life was actually the same as the most popular hunter in the entire universe?

"Unbelievable. Does he ever slow down?"

"Oh, you’ve seen nothing yet. This Rouni guy is a mere stepping stone for him. Soon, gods will be running from him," Tifa said with a slight smirk.

As someone who had followed Magnus (7th Incarnation) for years, she knew all too well the kind of terror he was.

The ladies could only watch as various comments flooded the Uniweb, leaving them intrigued. They are now far from home, but it seems that with Klaus out there, they would have something to pass the time with.

***

[Fractured Heaven - Foreign Battlefield]

Rouni and his team had just returned from a mission and were about to relax when news of Klaus finally accepting his challenge reached him.

Obviously, he didn’t receive it well. The tone Klaus used and the expression he wore were just too insulting, and, as someone who values his image, he became furious.

"Bastard. I will teach him a good lesson."

His teammates sat on the sidelines, fuming as well. They respect Rouni not because he is the best. There are many better than him.

Their respect came from his generosity. After every mission, he shares the loot equally among them. So watching how Klaus disrespected him made their blood boil.

"Captain, you must humiliate him and make sure that, after your battle, nobody takes him seriously ever again."

"Hugo is right. Humiliate him and the mission hall. They have grown horns recently. I think it is time you use the opportunity to humiliate them and this stupid Renegade Hunter."

Rouni nodded. He retrieved his communicator and dialed a number. A few seconds later, a hologram of a lady appeared.

"Warrior Rouni, how can I help you?"

"Book the Heavens Arena and arrange for a live broadcast. I want the entire universe to watch how I humiliate that brat from the mission hall."

"When do you need it?"

"As early as possible. I want him brought down a peg while the word is still out."

"Okay. Hold on for a second; let me check when it will be available." The lady spent a few seconds checking through her computer.

"It will be available in three days. I have booked it and even allowed the Dark Space company to stream it live inside and outside the Dark Space."

"Thanks." He hung up and dialed a second number. As if the person had been waiting for his call, it only rang once, and she answered, her camera already in hand.

The hologram of the interviewer appeared.

"Make the entire universe know that in three days, I will be facing the Renegade Hunter in the Heavens Arena. All bets are off, so he can come at me with all he’s got. All are invited to watch."

He hung up and took a deep breath.

His communicator rang a second later. When he saw the person calling, he straightened up before answering, "Father."

"I hope you saw the video," Supreme Elder Juo, his father and master, asked. Not many are aware of this. In fact, aside from his team and a few others, nobody knew he was a disciple of a Supreme.

"I have already made arrangements, Father. In three days, I will teach him a lesson."

"Good. I want you to destroy his confidence and ensure that, after the battle, he will never dream of becoming a Warrior ever again."

"Rest assured, Father, I will make sure he will never forget it."

One might ask why he is interested in a battle between immortals, given that he is a Supreme.

Of course, since this battle was initiated by him in order to undermine Klaus and, in a way, gain the favor of the Celestial Warrior Council, he wants Klaus to be humiliated.

If Klaus were to lose, Supreme Elder Ryuu would lose some merits, which is a big win for him.
