The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1480: Meeting The GodBeasts

Chapter 1480: Meeting The GodBeasts

Klaus had no reason to turn back now.

Long before they arrived at the trunk house, he had already sensed a powerful gaze locked on him. He knew the god beast had already become aware of him, so he could only go meet her.

Naturally, he had no reason to count on Crux since she had already told him she could not guarantee his safety.

As they descended, he sensed two other powerful gazes turn toward him. While the intensity wasn’t as chilling as the god beast’s, he had reason to believe they were demigods.

"While there are many demigods out there, under my lady, there are just three of us. The other two gazes you felt are from them."

Klaus nodded. "I suppose with a god at the helm, there should be able subordinates doing her bidding. Though I have to ask, do you fight with the other three factions?"

"No. We have no reason to fight with them. My lady is the strongest god in here, so there is no need to dirty herself with those losers."

Klaus wanted to smile, but just then, two demi-humans appeared in the air. One had a human body from the waist upwards and a snake body downwards, a clear sign she was a naga.

The other had an entirely human body, but two sets of bone-like appendages extended from his back. Clearly, he was an evolved mantis-type beast. They looked down hungrily at Klaus while ignoring Crux.

"Crux, I thought we would only join the hunt when my lady gives the go-ahead, why do you have a human meat with you. And what is he even doing here?" the mantis asked, his expression narrowing.

Crux kept her composure, but her words dripped with arrogance. "Since when do I answer to an insect?"

Her words made the mantis angry, and so he released his aura. However, instead of aiming it at Crux, he aimed it at Klaus.

"Hey, buddy, if you are afraid of her, no need to turn your anger toward me. I have done nothing wrong, you know," Klaus said, a smirk forming at the corner of his lips.

Of course, it was all a show-off.

He was actually under a lot of pressure.

The mantis, who was already pissed, became even more furious. He frowned deeper, and then he pointed his finger and was about to unleash an attack when a voice came from the trunk house.

"Control yourself, Reed." The anger filling his head was washed away. He took a deep breath and turned toward the trunk house. "My apologies, my lady."

"Crux, bring the human over."

"Okay, my lady." She began, leading Klaus over.

Before leaving, Klaus smirked at Reed. "See you around, Mr. Reed. It was fantastic meeting you."

They were gone, and Reed could only grit his teeth. The other demigod, Lizzy, smiled and said, "This human is interesting. Relax, Reed, he won’t be alive for long."

Klaus was led to the trunk house. However, before entering, Crux stopped. "You are on your own from here. Good luck."

After saying that, she flew away, leaving Klaus alone. He sighed and walked inside. The moment he stepped in, the air around him changed. He felt an invisible force wash over him, scanning every inch.

His surroundings changed, and he found himself in a place that looked like a large white box.

’A True god, huh,’ Klaus made a mental note to be well-behaved since the god he was facing wasn’t someone he could mess around with.

"Have you ever met a Calamity god before?" a sweet voice came from all directions.

In an instant, a sensation crept into his heart. He felt like he was hooked up to a lie detector, a clear indication that he could not lie.

But who was Klaus, if not someone with over a thousand minds? If he wanted to lie, he could just take a mind that had no knowledge of what he was being asked. So technically, he wouldn’t be lying even if his memories were being examined.

"Can’t say I have had the pleasure to. That said, I believe today will be my first time."

Of course, that was a lie. He had, in fact, met the mother of all calamity beasts—Nari. His Dark Phoenix wife was one of the three True Calamities, the most dangerous of them.

So to open his mouth and say he hadn’t, he might be the dirtiest liar alive. But in this case, he was indeed telling the truth.

"I see. I suppose I have no use for you then," her voice became chilling.

Klaus smiled and cleared his throat. "Let me see... Ah, where should I start from?" He counted his fingers for a moment and then smiled...

"We can start with your name. Beyhos Sius, a beautiful name, really. Bloodline: Ancient Angelic Vampire, a blood-type beast, I see. You are a True god with a god-grade bloodline. If I didn’t know better, I would say it’s been a minute since you became a True god, but you can’t figure out how to become a God King.

Of course, as a Calamity Beast, you cannot just become a God King. In fact, as a god beast, the only way you can most likely pass through the True God stage is to devour the bloodline of another Calamity Beast or devour the blood essence of at least three God King-level beasts."

Klaus smiled and stretched, and added, "Fortunately for you, I am here today with a proposal that even a god cannot turn down. Of course, you can kill me, but I will just enter here with another body a hundred years from now and kill you too.

Ah, that is if you are still alive, considering this place will soon be going up in flames." Klaus chuckled. "You see, the same people who hired you to kill us all planned to backstab you all just to hide their secrets. I seek to prevent that from happening, but to do so, I need your help.

So let’s pretend, for a moment, that our interests align. By helping me, I will bestow a technique created a very long time ago by the Star Monarch. What do you say, Lady Beyhos?"

Klaus stood there, his expression calm but a bit on edge, considering he had no idea what decision she would be making. If she accepted his offer, then perhaps they would have a good conversation.

If not, then he would just wish she wouldn’t kill him fast enough. He want the feel the pain.

For a full minute, he stood there. Then suddenly, the space twisted, and he found himself standing before a redhead beauty with a perfect human appearance.

Well, given her angelic bloodline, calling her a human is a bit of an understatement. Looking at those sharp cheekbones, Klaus could count her among the top ten most beautiful women he had seen so far in this life.

"Who are you, human?"

"Ah, I am glad you asked." Klaus smiled and walked to a chair not far to his right and sat down as if he was offered a seat.

"A very long time ago, a young elven child was exiled to a very dangerous forest to die. However, he not only lived, but he also became a force that once swept across the universe.

I go by Klaus Hanson; however, to make matters simple for us, you can just call me the Star Monarch. Pleasure meeting you, Lady Beyhos."

Klaus’s appearance changed, and when Lady Beyhos saw the familiar face, her body trembled.
