Chapter 1790: Return of the Asura Race (17)

“State your name,” he demanded.

Burning Angel had a tendency to ask for his opponent’s name before facing them in battle. Most of the time, they responded, and sometimes, he had to beat it out of them.

Today, his first-ever Primordial opponent responded.

“Qohor, now step aside or die,” the butterfly replied in a feminine tone. Clearly, she was a female, which only made things even more complicated for Burning Angel.

He hated fighting women, believing that doing so would disappoint his late mother, who had taught him never to beat women.

Of course, he immediately justified everything by telling himself that this was necessary, or else his friends would die. With his resolve made, he was ready to kill.

“I am afraid I cannot do that,” Burning Angel replied, gripping his spear tightly.

“Then die.”

Qohor moved, and she was before Burning Angel the next moment.

BANG!

Their attacks met, and shockwaves spread across space. The chilling part was that Qohor was a Primordial, and she was using Primordial Qi, yet the heavens made no attempt to stop her.

Burning Angel held his ground, and soon, their attacks left the void cracking and mending itself every microsecond.

‘This is bad for the universe. If more Primordials show up, the seals will weaken, leading to more invasions.’ Paragon, who knew how bad this was for the universe, hated the six patriarchs even more.

But for now, there was nothing he could do. The battle between Primordials was one he could not easily interfere in. Right now, he could only pray that Burning Angel managed to handle his opponent much faster.

Already, his side had started sustaining casualties.

Since that was the case, he knew he had to come up with plans to handle the next 26 minutes without losing more than he could afford to. The battle raged on, and in no time, the pressure increased.

From the crack, another Primordial appeared; this time, it was humanoid, with a diamond-shaped head.

The moment it appeared, it lunged toward Aster. However, Lord Zorvian was already prepared, so he blocked its path, and it was soon taken out of the picture.

As to who was going to win, Klaus didn’t know. But he knew two things that put his mind at ease for now.

First, in 15 minutes, if nothing bad happened to halt the process, his Asura incarnation would break through to the Supreme Stage and become the first Supreme Paragon.

Once that happened, the pressure bearing down on his teammates would lessen.

Second, in 24 minutes, the gateway would open, and the Asura race would return. Their return was one he looked forward to since they were the best suited for this battle.

Chaos beasts grew stronger when the chaos in the air was at an all-time high, while the Asura race grew stronger by tapping into the blood flowing on the battlefield.

The more they killed, the stronger they got.

They both had their advantages, but in an extended battle, the Asura would always win.

But before they came, Klaus and his teammates knew they had to survive the onslaught.

Suddenly, a deadly spear came from the crack, aimed directly at Aster.

“Uncle Mark,” Klaus called out, and his uncle responded by manifesting ten layers of strong defensive shields at once.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The first three were shattered, but before the spear could land on the fourth, a bullet from Uncle Ziggy’s revolver reduced it to sparks of Primordial energy.

“Interesting,” a feminine voice came from the crack, followed by a beauty with human features but dragon eyes. She walked gracefully out of the void and stopped right below it.

“Matthew, buddy, you are up.”

Matthew flew into the air and stopped 200 meters from the lady, who was also radiating Primordial Qi. There are already three primordials arriving on the battlefield, and the clock was still at 24 minutes and counting down.

Instead of addressing Matthew directly, the lady turned to Klaus. “You sent a Pseudo-Primordial to face me. Do you look down on me, Paragon?”

Klaus smiled and nodded. “As a matter of fact, I look down on you. In fact, if these were normal times, I would have sent a god to face you, but well…” Klaus laughed and added,

“You are a Primordial, someone who has managed to break free from the Heavenly Dao and has formed her own Dao. However, instead of living a life of your own, here you are, following the commands of the same heavens like a lost puppy.”

“Lost puppy is a cute word for her, buddy,” Paragon, the first incarnation, said from the side. Then he added, wearing a grin, “She came running like a prostitute who hasn’t been paid after getting gang banged.”

The look on the Primordial’s face immediately darkened, and the aura around her intensified.

“Hey, bitch, we are not done,” Paragon called out, but the lady was already on the move, her spear conjured from Primordial Qi, stabbing toward Paragon’s chest.

Klaus facepalmed, and Matthew smirked.

He teleported and appeared 50 meters from Paragon, and clang!

He blocked the attack with his sword, but he was pushed back a few meters. He was back on his feet the next second, his sword radiating an intense aura.

Suddenly, the sky was filled with the metallic sharpness of a sword. Matthew had unleashed his sword Dao since the moment called for it.

Matthew was a very deadly swordsman. Long before he used his lifeforce to seal the void gate, and even before he became a Celestial, he had been a powerful swordsman whose sword intent rivaled the Dao of most Celestials.

Now, he was a Pseudo-Primordial who had touched and awakened his own Sword Dao.

Before this battle, he had discussed with Klaus that he planned to take his Sword Dao to the next level, which was Dao Manifestation.

Klaus asked what he needed, and he said an opponent he would be helpless against.

Klaus nodded, and so he gave him this opponent since he believed the first two weren’t as strong as this lady.

However, as he tapped into his Sword Dao and immediately unleashed his sword intent, something strange happened.

The lady, who was angry and eager to kill Paragon just now, turned and ran. Her speed was so fast that before Klaus or anyone else could block her, she had entered the crack and vanished from sight.

Everywhere became quiet.

Even the chaos beasts on the battlefield were taken aback.
