Chapter 4410: Demanding Daughter

Since the Arakai Web Civilization had learned of the existence of Gaian Civilization, there was no point in trying to be discreet about the truth. Secretary Claris’s expression stiffened ever so slightly before she nodded.

"Send this letter to the Security Council to invoke the Emergency Central Command Act," he told her with a severe expression. "We must immediately establish a Central Human Command body that will handle the coordination and command of all human forces mobilized under Article Two of the Gaian Alliance Charter. Inform everybody of the fact that our enemies have identified us as the culprits responsible for the death of three Divine Mothers."

Secretary Claris’s vaunted composure cracked at the number that Rui had mentioned. "Pardon me, Your Majesty, but did you say three Divine Mothers?"

"Yep, just killed two," Rui nonchalantly replied, transmitting to her a brief report covering everything that had happened. "Send that to everybody important and relevant. I want everybody to understand the gravity of the situation. Especially that young punk leading the Evolutionary Army. We have entered a life-or-death situation."

His ethereal eyes sharpened.

"One mistake. And that’s complete annihilation. Not even I can guarantee our safety. Our enemy is a thousand times larger and more powerful than us."

Her expression grew a little severe, but she nodded. "Very well, Your Majesty, I shall do as you say."

She activated the teleportation system in the palace, disappearing from the room as Rui fell into thought.

Thankfully, over the past three months, human civilization had been gearing up for war upon his directive. Surveillance systems bolstered. Manufacturing and construction had been diverted towards defense, and military-oriented assets and civilian goods and services had received less priority.

States had begun implementing more secure protocols, while pumping their war potential. Civil conflicts had largely died out. The possibility of a major extraterrestrial war had made most states and organizations rethink their decisions to waste their war potential on domestic disputes when they could potentially face extremely dangerous threats from beyond human civilization.

Still, three months had hardly been enough for a comprehensive transition, but it was better than nothing. When he considered the strategic outlook, he knew that it was not going to be enough.

Even his power was not going to be enough. He was not omnipotent, far from it.

’I will have to take a page from my father’s book.’

The Emperor of Harmony had won multiple wars with overwhelming odds, although none were nearly as lopsided as this war. Rui knew that, if human civilization was to survive, he would need to engage in political intrigue, something he was very rusty on. Ever since he became the most powerful person in human civilization, he hadn’t really cared to engage in that sort of thing.

Thankfully, human civilization had cultivated talent in all fields over the past thirteen years through the Immortal Sage program, among other things, for just a moment like this. He was confident that they would find the path of survival and even prosperity.

BZZZT

He turned towards his communicator, glancing at a notification that he had gotten.

[Her Highness has returned.]

His ethereal eyes lit up as he turned his attention outwards, spreading it far and wide as he searched for his daughter.

He frowned.

He failed to find her.

Not a single presence on the planet matched the presence of his daughter from an elementary skim. He concentrated, focusing his senses even more as he scanned the entire planet in detail.

His eyes widened as he finally spotted her.

She was sky-walking, or sky-sprinting rather, across the Kandrian Empire, rushing towards him at high speeds.

An amazed smile broke out on his face. "She broke through... she’s a Martial Sage!"

He realized it was why he had failed to recognize her presence. He was looking for a Martial Master, immediately skimming past the many Martial Sage presences in the Kandrian Empire. She had grown so much stronger with the breakthrough that her power signature was completely unrecognizable.

At the age of eighteen, his daughter had managed to reach the fifth Realm in the Martial Path. Even he couldn’t help but marvel with pride at just how astronomical her rate of growth was. He even considered teleporting in front of her, catch her in a hug.

Then, he froze as he sensed her state of mind.

Desperation. Grief. Angst. Misery.

These were not the emotions he would have expected from her.

’Where are her friends?’ was the first question that jumped to his mind. ’Why is she so frantically looking for me?’

She hadn’t even taken her exo-Martial suit off either.

His ethereal eyes sharpened as he stayed his hand from teleporting to her. She was still in-cognito, and teleporting in front of her in public could give away her identity and ruin all the secrecy she had built around her identity and her abilities.

She immediately arrived, rushing through the Vargard Royal Palace microseconds before arriving at his office.

BANG!

The door to his office flew open as Ria emerged with an expression of a profound level of desperation. The dark bags under her eyes indicated that she hadn’t slept. Her beautiful golden hair was a mess, having lost some of its luster. Her face was pale, her cheeks a little sunken as if she hadn’t eaten much.

In all of his life, he had never quite seen her this frantic. Even when she began to hate her status as a princess, she had never been reduced to such a state.

"Papa!" she charged at him with deep urgency. Her hands reached for him, not for a hug, but to grab his shoulders and shake him. "Papa, you need to come! I need your help right away! There’s no time to waste! Teleport both of us to the Stellarch right away!"

Rui gazed at his daughter with a serious expression, simply nodding as his ethereal eyes glinted with a hint of severity.

One glance into her eyes, and he could already see the truth.

He put his hand on her shoulder, teleporting them both to the Stellarch.
