Chapter 4537: Water Cannot Be Bound
Chapter 4537: Water Cannot Be Bound
The gargantuan black hole was known to possess a stellar mass of more than four million times the mass of Earth’s Sun before the solar system got infected by the virus. It was so utterly titanic that even the information dimension looked different due to how different the state of reality itself was within the event horizon.
RUMBLE!!!!!
Before such an absurd monster, even a Transcendent like Rui was merely an insect. Even if he leveraged all of his power, he didn’t have the ability to do anything to such a cosmic behemoth. Furthermore, he felt a much more acute sense of danger compared to the foreboding sense of fear that the virus gave him.
If he fell into the event horizon of this black hole, he wasn’t sure he could survive. Black holes were the only natural phenomenon that could truly pose a threat to Administrators. The larger they were, the more dangerous it was.
Rui remembered when Emperor Arthur of the Britannian Empire cracked a singularity with his fingers. Compared to that infantile microscopic singularity, this black hole was an apex predator.
The accretion disk that surrounded the black hole was even more intense. An unfathomable amount of matter and energy was being ground to its most fundamental state, hurtling around the black hole at astronomical rates.
But that wasn’t the anomalous part.
The anomalous part was her memories of a war that was being waged in the zones immediately outside the central black hole.
More species and civilizations than Rui recognized waged war around Sagittarius A*. There were countless battleships and massive dreadnoughts that revolved at a distance around the titanic black hole, unleashing tremendous destruction upon each other. He saw laminar integuments, nebulars; he even saw some of the other major civilizations of the Milky Way, whose outposts they had run into, waging catastrophic war at the center of the Milky Way.
He frowned.
Why were they fighting this hard over the black hole?
What was so special about it?
He didn’t know. He didn’t immediately find the answer in o-ooooo’s mind. Perhaps she didn’t know either. He didn’t think it was merely because of a strategic location or even the resources of the tremendous energy that could be harnessed from the accretion disk and the Hawking radiation, although those were undoubtedly attractive as well. But this war was too destructive to be merely about energy.
Why then did they fight so hard over Sagittarius A*?
Before he could even think any further about it, his body moved on its own in a blinding flash, without his realization.
WHOOSH
He teleported away from the Divine Mother in the blink of an eye, appearing a kilometer away in space from where he was a moment prior.
SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!
A massive net of web had converged on where he had been standing just a moment prior.
"Dammit!" Divine Mother o—o cursed, emerging from a wormhole along with another Divine Mother, who immediately tended to the wounded o-ooooo. "Your body mind web is too fast!"
Rui raised an eyebrow, surprised. The Divine Mothers could sense his Corporeal Realm, it seemed. That made sense on second thought. The Corporeal Realm was the realm of body consciousness, which was integrated information. And it used a web of quantum entanglement to create an interface between body and corporeal consciousness.
His Autocorpus had saved him from the attack when he was busy engrossed in her mind, not paying attention to his surroundings. Of course, he trusted his Corporeal Realm, which was why he allowed himself to get immersed in his memory lifting.
When Divine Mother o-ooooo healed from the wound she got from him, she directed a murderous glare of disgust towards him. She felt violated that an insolent alien outsider from a primitive species would dare to read her mind.
The three Divine Mothers turned towards him with ferocious bloodlust, their Webverses blazing with power.
RUMBLE
The Webverses seemed to harmonize and resonate, pooling their influence over reality. They had the same phenomenological uniformity, and their consciousnesses could work together to tighten their grip over the fabric of reality around them.
The three of them repositioned themselves in a triangular formation around him. The first thing they did was to bind space and time itself with metaphysical webs. It amplified their native interdiction technology, turning space and time into a tight, unyielding medium that didn’t budge even under the weight of gravity.
Divine Mother o-ooooo glared at him.
CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK
"You. Are. Going. Nowhere."
It was three on one; they had the terrain advantage. They were in their home court, and they had other Divine Mothers who were undoubtedly watching and on standby. In their minds, this should have been a despairing situation. Divine Mother o-ooooo was especially hoping to see some signs of distress on the human’s face, even if she wasn’t sure she would recognize the emotion in an alien.
Yet, all she saw on his face was a welcoming smile.
As if the three of them were guests that he had invited, standing at his front door. He took a stance that was different from anything they had gathered from their intelligence campaigns.
He shifted in space, posturing his right side towards o-ooooo. One hand stretched out towards her, with his sharp palm pointing in her direction. The other hand moved in the opposite direction, hanging above him loosely, similar to their web stingers.
The posture made her feel a faint threat for some reason.
She gritted her teeth.
"ATTACK!"
She roared, spurring her other two sisters to charge towards him at the same time. Her Webverse specialized in the webs of the mind, so she intended to play a sabotage or a harassment role. She already knew she wouldn’t be able to tap into his mind because of that damned armor, but she could at least force it to divert all its attention towards her.
The other two charged from behind, their webs spewing at him with great speed and power.
Yet, his ethereal eyes remained calm.
His water, normally a torrential flood that ravaged a battlefield, was nowhere to be seen.
He had withheld the ocean of his Martialverse within him, applying it to his body. His palms moved a gushing river, severing each and every single strand of web that sought to bind him. His palms surged beyond the webs, finding their creators as a single remark escaped him.
"Water cannot be bound."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Divine Mother o-ooooo’s body crumpled as a thundering impact ravaged her abdomen.
