Chapter 4600: Hyperdimensional
Chapter 4600: Hyperdimensional
The core of Hyperdimensional mode was a combination of the Gene Realm to alter neuro-optical density and the Martial Soul to maintain neuroconnectivity. The Corporeal Realm served as a safety net and a supervisor, intervening whenever necessary. Together, he smoothly began altering the orientation of his consciousness.
The changes in the orientation of his consciousness directly resulted in changes to his phenomenology. His experience of himself changed.
Normally, his love and affinity for Martial Art went beyond just a conscious preference, but a totalistic dedication of mind, heart, and soul towards Martial Art.
Now, he felt that orientation disappearing.
It was as though he was no longer a Martial Artist, but rather a spectator or a connoisseur of Martial Art, not a participant.
The change was alarming.
He felt his affinity for Martial Art diminish, which was a much more alarming and horrifying feeling than he ever imagined. If not for the fact that this was confined only to his brain and not his body, it might have even damaged his Path.
It reminded him of how critical and risky this procedure was. He could not afford to lose focus or concentration whatsoever.
While his mental orientation towards Martial Art reduced, his extremely minute orientation towards Legislation amplified.
What he found curious was that the capital-L Legislation was ontologically related to the small-l legislation related to the laws of a country. Suddenly, he felt a desire to return to his Royal Office and started tailoring legislation for the Kandrian Empire. He wanted to pass a law that regulated Martial Art more precisely and finely. He wanted to amend the Void Regime a bit more. He wanted to pass some new international law paradigms to stabilize human civilization during the disruptions of war.
"Interesting connections," he muttered as he continued.
He also felt the almost microscopic affinity he had for an architectural mindset suddenly rise, creating an urge to build a structure that could withstand the test of time. These inclinations contradicted his conscious affinity and love for Martial Art, making him feel like his head was tearing apart. But he gritted his teeth and pushed through.
Finally, when the procedure ended, he could feel that the orientation of his consciousness had changed.
And so did the orientation of his Martialverse, which, thankfully, remained undamaged.
"Finally!" He grinned, activating his Verse. "I can finally get started!"
He expanded his Martialverse into the information dimension again. Once more, he avoided the causal layer, which he was so familiar with, while applying his Verse to the layer of laws.
Specifically, the laws that governed his information form. His original goal had been to get rid of the boundary conditions of the quantum gauge fields that the matter and energy of his body arose from. Now, he finally had the tools to unlock this power.
He began Legislating.
The equations he had created with the help of Professor Seonard Lusskind were the objective. He began to edit and alter the many boundary conditions governing his body. The process, surprisingly enough, was very much like erasing an equation written on a board and replacing it with a new one. But the replacement was more direct.
He realized that he could simply erase the law entirely, but that would not produce the desired effect. He needed to replace it, which was easier than completely erasing it.
The phenomenological stamina that altering the layer of laws consumed was proportional to the divergence of the laws. In other words, the more different the new laws were from the old laws, the more energy it would consume.
And his new laws diverged substantially from his old laws, so it drained his metaphysical stamina considerably.
Furthermore, there wasn’t one law that he needed to change.
His end goal was to harness hyperdimensional reality unconditionally without needing the Martialverse each time. The solution was to Legislate new boundary conditions, each of which was a separate law, each of which consumed a lot of metaphysical stamina.
Yet, the changes being permanent was the best part, so it was worth it. He resolutely burned through his metaphysical stamina, replacing old equations with new.
And each change corresponded with a change in his body.
RUMBLE
A gravitational wave radiated from his body. Gravity was postulated to be the only force that could freely move between the higher dimensions of reality and the lower. In some ways, he was trying to apply the conditions of gravity to his entire body.
RUMBLE
His body began... shifting.
It seemed to grow more real and yet less real all at once. It seemed to elevate to a higher dimension, making it feel almost like an ethereal hologram. Yet, at the same time, it became more solid as well, as if the density of his body had been increased to a radical extent.
It was an unfathomable contradiction that couldn’t be put into words. Yet, it happened.
As he continued replacing the laws in his body, he could feel his senses registering new stimuli.
They were exposed to a new world.
New layers of reality that sat on top of the ones he already existed within. New layers that were previously invisible to him. He had previously managed to come into touch with them when he was in Hyperdimensional Mode. But now that mode had become permanent in a way.
The different extensions of his body into higher dimensions merged into one singular, united hyperdimensional Rui. It was as though more than one of his Martial Bodies had been merged into one higher-dimensional being.
All objects had higher-dimensional components, but they were dimensionally disunited.
He, on the other hand, was rapidly becoming a true hyperdimensional being. His body extended into multiple dimensions of reality that lesser beings could even fathom. The number of attack vectors he had increased exponentially. As did the dimensions of reality he could traverse.
Normal three-dimensional beings could go up and down, left and right, and front and back, or some combo of all three. But he could choose to turn in the direction of dimension-4, or dimension-5, if he really wanted. In the eyes of lower beings, it would be as if he simply walked out of reality itself.
He could inspect lower-dimensional beings like a person inspecting a character on a screen in a video game.
Soon, he was done.
The laws of his Martial Body were different from the laws of the rest of the universe, elevating him to an unprecedented height of power.
"I am hyperdimensional."
