The Number One Star in the Interstellar Era

Chapter 757: ONLINE REACTION

Chapter 757: ONLINE REACTION

WHEN [Stage of Two] aired, many people tuned in to watch the episode. From the moment it was announced that Valentine Davis and Astrid Townsend would appear together on the show, their fans had been eagerly waiting for it. So on the day it was broadcasted, they were all watching, either on their Terminals or on any other virtual screen they could use.

Naturally, a certain pair of imperial brothers were also watching the broadcast of the episode.

When Cynric first heard about this, he seriously wanted to call Valentine and scold him. He had specifically told the other not to approach Astrid Townsend. Then, just days later, he learned Valentine was going to appear on the same show as Astrid.

Not for one moment did Cynric believe this was a simple coincidence. First, he knew Valentine well enough to be sure this was exactly the kind of thing he would do. And second, Valentine certainly had the influence to make it happen.

He just could not understand why Valentine would do this. As much as he wanted to call the other, doing so would go against their agreement to not contact each other for a month. Cynric even wondered if Valentine had done this on purpose just to provoke him into calling. He certainly would not be surprised if that was the case.

So, he watched the episode with a growing sense of dread.

Wulfric felt the same way. The only difference was that he found it much harder to control his emotions. When Aster told him that Valentine’s agent had called Ellis to ask if the two of them could appear together on a show, he nearly flew back to the capital right then to confront that annoying guy face to face. But Aster seemed to read his mind and told him not to try anything. So, even though every part of him wanted to act, he held himself back.

But he made a firm promise to himself. If Valentine did anything, anything at all, to mess with Aster or cause him trouble, then Valentine would deeply regret ever making this move. Wulfric had already decided to not interfere with whatever was going on between Valentine and Cynric. But if Valentine targeted Aster, then all deals were off.

He had already given Cynric a clear warning about this very situation. He knew his brother, and he was certain Cynric would have passed that warning on to Valentine. Therefore, if Valentine ignored it and something happened, he would have no one to blame but himself. His own arrogance and reckless behavior would be his downfall.

But to Wulfric’s surprise, from the beginning of the show to the very end, Valentine did not cause any trouble. In fact, he acted like the perfect, helpful senior actor. Even during their improvised scene together, Valentine did not try to embarrass Aster or make him look bad. This left Wulfric genuinely confused. If Valentine was not planning to cause problems, then what was the real reason he had gone to all this trouble?

Wulfric shook his head. No, he should not let his guard down just yet. He would only feel truly relieved after he spoke with Aster directly. He needed to ask him if he was alright and if Valentine had tried anything during the show. But since Aster had just finished the recording, he decided he would call him a little later.

For the time being, he opened his Terminal and began checking the public reaction online.

***

[Did you all see <Stage of Two>? My eyes are so happy just looking at two beautiful people together.]

- Right? How can two people be so perfect? If I ever saw them in real life, I think I would just faint.

- They don’t even look real. How can someone be born looking like that? It’s like they came from a different world.

- You guys are praising them too much. Especially that Astrid Townsend. He just has a rare hair and eye color. Take that away and he would look completely average.

└How dare you say that! Our Aster is way more beautiful than Valentine, who already has wrinkles on his face!

└└To The Knights, Starlights do not claim this person. Please don’t fall for such obvious rage bait.

└└└Don’t worry, we Knights are professionals at this. We can spot a fake fan from a mile away.

[To Astrid Townsend, as a Knight, I just want to thank you for asking all those questions to our emperor. You don’t know how much that means to us.]

- This! We have been so starved for any content from the emperor that even a single picture from him would be a feast.

└And he doesn’t even post any photos these days!

- We suddenly feel so well fed. Thank you, Astrid. As thanks, I’m going to buy the HoloDisk of your last movie.

└That’s a great idea! I will do the same.

[That impromptu performance was incredible! Are we sure they did not rehearse that?]

- That is what genuine talent looks like.

- I already knew our emperor would be great, but Astrid was a real surprise. I did not know he was that good.

└Have you not seen any of his other work? You should watch [The Great War]. Aster was amazing in it.

└└Okay, I will check it out.

└It’s really eye opening. He did not even look nervous, as if he was not acting opposite Valentine Davis.

└└That’s probably just his professional training. But I’m sure he was very nervous on the inside.

[Am I the only one who noticed the amazing chemistry between them?]

- You’re not alone. I felt it too.

- They barely touched and only had a few lines, but the chemistry was electric.

- LOL it’s just you. You must be an Astrid fan, right? Do you think we will let Valentine be linked with some rookie? You just want your actor to climb the ladder using mine.

└Oh, be quiet. What do you mean ’mine’? Valentine is not your property.

└Can you please not use our emperor’s name to attack someone else?

- I really wish the two of them would make a movie together. How amazing would that be?
