The Number One Star in the Interstellar Era

Chapter 786: SURPRISED LIVESTREAM (III)

Chapter 786: SURPRISED LIVESTREAM (III)

WULFRIC was really annoyed that he had missed the beginning of the livestream. It was his own fault for leaving his Terminal on silent, so he hadn’t heard the alert. He was especially annoyed because this was Aster’s first livestream ever, and he hadn’t been there to watch and support him from the start. How could he possibly call himself Aster’s number one fan after that?

Someone might ask why he had put his Terminal on silent in the first place. The reason was that he had been in a very important meeting. The topic was sensitive and required his full attention. It was connected to the human trafficking ring they had uncovered months before.

That human trafficking ring had operated for years in the Tertius Galaxy, which was under Simon Lancaster’s jurisdiction. Wulfric’s army had managed to break it up, arrest the pieces of shit responsible, and even lock up the high-ranking officials who were involved. The only disappointing part of the whole thing was that they couldn’t find a way to link it back to Simon Lancaster himself.

But they had discovered a small piece of information that might, just might, connect it all to the Lancasters. At least, Wulfric really fucking hoped it would.

That was why he was so focused on the meeting. The sooner they stripped the Lancasters of all their power, the sooner the Grimaldis could announce that Emmaline Grimaldi was alive. Then they could officially welcome Aster and Reas into the family. Having Aster be the grandson of a duke would shut down any future criticism or questions from those old fools in the aristocracy before they even started. Not that he cared about their opinion. He would be with Aster even if he wasn’t a noble. But having that status would make everything a lot easier, and that was always welcome.

Besides that, once the Lancaster family, at least the shitty ones, was gone, Cynric would finally be free from their blackmail. Not that his brother wanted to cooperate with them. They had him trapped, so he had no choice but to agree to their demands for now.

Wulfric was also to blame for that. If he had been there for Cynric back then, he could have stopped the Lancasters from getting to him. But he had been immature and a jerk at the time—well, he still kind of was, just not as bad as before. He had been so wrapped up in his own anger that he let things go too far. If he had pulled his head out of his ass sooner, he might have stopped the Lancasters before they blackmailed Cynric.

But what was done was done. Sometimes he wished he could just wipe out that whole family. Well, not all of them. He remembered the young Lancaster currently studying at the military academy. That one wasn’t so bad. Anyway, since he wasn’t a monster, he couldn’t just go around killing people. At least not without justification.

Wulfric shook his head and turned his attention back to his Terminal screen. Aster was now plating the dish he had just finished cooking. When Wulfric had opened his Terminal earlier, right after walking into his office, he had seen the notification for the livestream and clicked it immediately. That was how he ended up watching now.

When he saw that the livestream had started forty-five minutes ago, he almost groaned out loud in frustration. How had he missed it? With his emotions running high, he couldn’t stop himself from sending one comment after another into the chat.

Aster seemed to choke on what he’s eating, but he quickly masked it and picked a glass of water. Then, he smiled at the screen.

"It looks like my self-proclaimed number one fan has finally joined us," Aster said playfully with a little wave. "Hi there, White Wolf."

For some reason, Wulfric’s cheeks grew warm when he heard that. It almost felt like Aster was talking right to him, as if he knew White Wolf was Wulfric. But he knew that was impossible. How could Aster possibly know he was the one behind the ’White Wolf’ account? With his reputation as a tough general, no one would ever guess he was such a huge fanboy. The only person who knew he was White Wolf was his housekeeper, who was also now the head of the Starlights fan club.

And yet, why did it feel like Aster was looking directly at him?

As soon as Aster greeted him, comments started appearing quickly in the chat.

[Brother Wolf, you’re here!]

[I was wondering where you were. Where have you been, Brother Wolf?]

[How come he gets a special shoutout? Say hi to me too!]

[Is this jealousy I’m feeling? I want a personal hello!]

[Brother Wolf always gets all the attention, haha.]

[Me too! Greet me as well!]

Wulfric’s brow furrowed when he saw the comments begging Aster to greet them. How entitled. But then he saw Aster ignore those comments, and he felt a smug sense of satisfaction. See? He was the only one Aster gave a shout out to. Even his secret online account was special to Aster.

He quickly commented.

@astridsnumber1fan: [Ha! Don’t boss Aster around, you entitled jerks. Just be happy you get to watch him eat at all.]

Wulfric didn’t know if it was just his imagination, but he thought he saw a brief, amused smile cross Aster’s face. The other just kept eating and talking to the camera.

"As you all know, my new movie comes out tomorrow. We aren’t doing a big private premiere. But we will have a red carpet event. IndieFlix Studio will post the location details, so if you’re in the capital, you’re welcome to join us in the red carpet."

Wulfric felt annoyed that he couldn’t be in the capital right now. He really wanted to watch the movie with Aster.

"If you have any questions about the movie, feel free to ask. I’ll answer them, but I won’t give out any spoilers."

As soon as Aster said that, comments began to fill the screen at a rapid pace.
