Chapter 2941: The Inheritance of Minos II
Chapter 2941: The Inheritance of Minos II
In a distant world, marked by almost endless seas and a few islands poorly distributed along its area, on one of the countless coral reefs, in an area extremely reclusive and little visited by natives, suddenly a giant golden throne formed at the deepest point of the reef.
Along with the throne, lines of laws spread out from the surrounding area, illuminating and enriching the area even more, making space-time itself vibrate in their presence.
The only being there at the moment, a red-haired fish-man, looked on at the development of what he had unwittingly started, shocked, motionless, and full of thoughts about what was happening to him.
After reaching the pinnacle of his people, he had left his home to explore this great world. In search of more knowledge and powers, he reached the forbidden area, where he found a golden plate that, at first glance, seemed like a useless decorative item. But when he was wounded, facing the creature that now lay at his feet, dead, and his blood touched the plate, the phenomenon that brought that throne of light began, paralyzing everything around him.
His blood boiled, and he felt as weak as a worm in front of the judgment of heaven. Yet he stood firm, looking directly at the throne that was somehow connecting to his existence.
"Fish-man, you are standing in front of the decisive moment in your life. Here you will set yourself apart from the rest or die trying," said the majestic voice coming from the throne, while the fish-man felt as if a hand was beckoning him to advance towards it. "Accept my inheritance and break your mortal shell. Overcome my test and join me in the Upper Realm!"
The fish-man felt his desires increase over and over, his heart pounding, while a smile full of joy grew bigger and more genuine. He advanced towards the throne slowly, not refusing this supernatural call.
"Be my great champion and achieve immortality!"
The fish-man advanced one of his hands towards the throne, thinking of touching it before sitting down and embarking on a new journey. Just as he was about to contact the divine essence, the throne disappeared, giving way to a vortex of the same color as the throne, taking him towards the darkness of a black hole.
He didn't quite understand what had happened, but in an instant he lost contact with his home world, entering a dark alternative dimension where time and space seemed broken.
Suddenly, the same voice from a moment ago, now less majestic and attractive, came on.
"Level 112, Divine-grade Physique, Supreme-grade talent, no Absolute-grade absorbable weapons. Average potential. You may proceed."
After just ten seconds standing there, still trying to understand what was happening, the fish-man was carried by an invisible force, leaving the dark dimension to enter a new alternative space. This time, he entered a completely white dimension, where the same throne as before, now smaller and less distinct, was the only thing there apart from himself.
"Welcome to the inheritance of His Deity Minos Stuart. You are officially on the first of the seven levels of this inheritance. Now, pay attention. I'll quote the rules just once before we begin..."
The throne continued, while the fish-man more or less understood what he had gotten himself into.
This was a great opportunity for him, but also a great risk. If he failed, he would die. But if he succeeded, he would reach infinity!
...
While the fish-man was starting on Minos' inheritance, countless other candidates, from different parts of Minos' universe of origin, but also from other planes of reality, were engaged in the phases of the first of his inheritances to come into operation.
Unlike what had happened with the Stuart family in the Seraphim Dimension, Minos' potential heirs throughout the layers of existence did not have an 'invitation' to join the contest. Whether by accident or trial and error, countless candidates had already entered the race for Minos' first extra throne when Segiel was appointed as the family's representative contender.
Given Minos' prowess, his throne was managing this first inheritance masterfully, controlling the passage of time so that all the heirs with the ability could reach the final stage of the contest concurrently. For some, this meant experiencing millennia of trials, while others would only have to overcome a few years of disputes to reach the end of the inheritance.
But as Devdar had done in his inheritance, Minos would only put opponents head-to-head when they were in the same cultivation range.
On the other hand, Minos' inheritance had been planned almost entirely to differ greatly from Devdar's inheritance. Instead of just three stages, Minos' inheritance had a total of nine steps to complete, starting with recognizing candidates and assessing latent potential.
One could come across his inheritance and not even bring up the throne of Minos to invite them to his inheritance. And even if one passed this stage, there was no guarantee that they would be accepted for the seven tests of Minos.
But once approved, one would have seven challenges ahead of them, of which the first four were individual, without confrontations between competitors. The last three tests, after the best candidates had been selected, were more akin to Devdar's heritage, when competitors could face each other, use leadership skills, strategy and their innate combat or cultivation abilities.
The first four phases, the individual challenges, had a maximum time for completion and if one failed to complete them in time, they would be destroyed!
But those who passed could have the chance to live on even if they failed later on, and could keep their winnings for themselves, but not their memories of the inheritance.
Minos had created this and the other inactive inheritances to help his family. But he was willing to help the best cultivators who joined his heritage to grow faster while using them to train his loved ones. As such, he put his more decisive side aside and made a more 'peaceful' inheritance than Devdar's.
Eventually, for someone as immortal as him, one day there would be no more of his loved ones who would need to inherit their positions with his help. As such, he planned to use these inheritances to select warriors for his family too!
But that was still a distant possibility for him. At the moment, Minos was in the Upper Realm, little aware of the status of his first inheritance, leaving everything to his throne while the dispute was in its early stages. Meanwhile, his focus was on internal disputes, which he had been devoting his last years in the realm to advancing his domains.
After opportunities, problems, and disputes with the internal forces, he created a name for himself and showed the entire dimension he was not a minion of Devdar, but an ally with higher status than such a Deity. And now, finally, he was about to get more vacant thrones for his domain!
