Chapter 2951: Lily's Breakthrough
Chapter 2951: Lily's Breakthrough
"Father! You did it!" Lily shouted as she approached Minos, looking at the small black and white throne in one of his hands.
Devdar couldn't help but smile as he stopped beside the two of them, immensely pleased with Minos' progress.
That black and white throne seemed to be the most mysterious of the four singularities of the Abyssal Region. Yet Minos had conquered it extremely quickly, surpassing even his performance with the Throne of the Law of Death!
Minos continued to stare at the essence in his right hand, deeply disturbed by the throne's final words before it apparently fell into a deep sleep.
The Throne of the Law of Time said to its master, 'It's no use trying to communicate with it. It's gone into hibernation. It seems it's completely confident that you'll do what you have to. Now everything will depend on what it has planned. Nothing we do will wake it up if it's not in its own interest.'
Minos showed a worried expression to Devdar and Lily, making them both lose some of their joy at his success.
Thinking about the words of his throne, he couldn't help but consider the situation cautiously.
'Does this mean that the enemies it warned me about will notice my movements and move soon... And how does it intend to assist me on my journey in this way?
The throne didn't know how to answer. Unlike Yin and Yang, it had no experience to draw on at the moment. It only conjectured, 'Having this throne in hand is already a big plus, master. And so, I recommend reconsidering handing it over to Lydis.'
Minos had already thought of this while Yin and Yang was still talking to him.
The power of the Throne of the Law of Darkness and Law of Light was not simple, even though it was incomplete. It had made Minos reconsider his plans and his earlier promise to Lydis more than once.
After all, did it make sense for him to give something so powerful to someone who wasn't part of his alliance?
But tempting as it was, the throne in his hands was no guarantee of success against someone of Lydis' stature.
'That's a big problem...' He sighed before looking at his two companions on this journey through the Abyssal Region. "I've secured the last throne in this area, but more trouble is on our way now."
"What do you mean?" Devdar asked with a serious expression.
Lily also became more serious, although not as upset as the senior next to her. After experience at Minos' side since birth, this girl had become accustomed to fate's setbacks.
Minos didn't think it was good to talk about it in detail, nor did he want to stay in that place for long. With a wave of his hands, he stored the black and white throne in an independent space only he had access to. "Let's move on to Lily getting her breakthrough. The problems of getting this last throne are greater than you could ever imagine. But this is neither the time nor the place to talk about it."
Gulp!
"That serious?" The girl asked as she brought one of her hands to her mouth.
"If what I've experienced can be trusted..." Minos thought about the words and the power of Yin and Yang. "Then even Lydis could end up having serious problems on his doorstep when things become irreversible!"
"If that's the case, we should go back immediately and reunite the alliance." Devdar said urgently.
"No." Minos didn't rush off, looking at the black region around them, where immense submerged peaks surrounded the surroundings. "We have to take our time here. Our men are already doing everything they can to boost our numbers, the quality of our troops and prepare for the future. Coming back with yet another worry won't give us any more chance of winning when the challenges come."
"So what's your plan, Father?" Lily asked, no longer thinking about her chances of advancing to the 13th stage, much more concerned about what might frighten even her father.
Minos didn't have much time to think, but he formulated a quick strategy for this situation.
His strongest allies and subordinates were busy, aware of many of the dangers that surrounded them. They were working hard to strengthen themselves and fulfill their missions. Meanwhile, the faction's position wasn't so bad and they could already be considered a respectable force in the realm. Unless something powerful came into play, it wasn't just anyone who would compete hard with them.
Finally, the battles outside the realm, although they happened with some frequency, were not daily. There were many beings in the Upper Realm, but not enough to maintain external conflicts all the time.
For all that, he said, "We won't be strong enough to face any crisis by staying a little longer in the abyss. But understand that this will give us some advantage in some situations."
He was vague as he thought of both Lydis and the enemies mentioned by the throne.
The longer they stayed in the abyss, the more time he would have to deal with the suggestion of his throne and the repercussions.
At the same time, he couldn't help wondering if staying in the abyss would give him some extra time against those enemies who were waiting for the successor of the Celestial King.
'Lily won't be long in advancing and I can get a little closer to a future breakthrough.' He thought for a moment as he looked down into the abyss beneath his feet.
Without further ado, he pulled Lily up by one arm and continued swimming towards the area promised to her. "We'll drop you off in a good spot to make your advance. We'll wait for you while exploring the region." He said as Devdar followed them, full of questions in mind, but respectful of the moment.
Devdar knew Minos very well, due to the long selection tests he had done for this one. He knew that the man in front of him didn't know everything, but rarely made mistakes by rushing into things or taking unexpected actions. On the contrary, Minos was able to plan well for most of the matters he was involved in.
Devdar decided to trust his alliance partner, soon arriving at an area where space vortices were colliding, making the waters of the area choppy, with lots of energy and chaos present.
This was the place where Minos had felt an affinity with his daughter.
He told her. "There is a spatial distortion caused by the meeting of the two vortices. A hundred years in this area," he indicated the space with his fingers, pointing to the flows of the underwater currents in this region. "That's equivalent to less than a year outside. If you cultivate here, you should reach your breakthrough in just a few weeks for us. Enjoy it. Just don't risk it near those two vortices! Not even the protections I left on your body will save you if you get too close to them!"
Lily watched the phenomena at work under this less dark area of the Abyssal Region, internally feeling her abilities being stimulated, but also feeling the terror of what was out there.
Clenching her fists, she said in a loud tone, "Don't worry. I'll be back as soon as possible to accompany you on the rest of your journey through the region."
Without waiting for any extra words, Lily moved forward within the boundaries her father had presented.
Devdar and Minos stood still for a few moments. The father looked at his daughter entering a state of meditation and sighed, while the other man continued to stare at the vortices of power in this border area.
Devdar said quietly. "If she gets too close to one of those, I'm afraid she won't..."
"I know. But this is the perfect test for her." Minos cut Devdar's words off. "And Lily is an intelligent girl. Anyway, this area has its dangers, but it has many benefits."
"I see. No one will be able to get close to her here." Devdar mentioned what he considered to be the main benefit.
"Yes," Minos smiled.
Although he had never spent much time with his children acting as an over-present father, he had always been with them when they needed him, as much as possible. And even now, he still cared for each of them, to the point of always strengthening the defensive seals he had left on each of them.
"Let's find the good secrets of this region and study some of the ancestral laws that were lost or damaged after the cataclysm that ended the Ancestral Era." Minos said as he moved in front of Devdar again. "We'd better not split up. Let's explore the area together."
"OK!"
