Chapter 1856: Ancient Tree Guardian

Chapter 1856: Chapter 1856: Ancient Tree Guardian

The Ancient Vine Elder is a vine associated with the Primordial Chaos Tree!

Jing Yan held his breath, feeling as though his vision had expanded further.

After entering the Endless Chaos, Jing Yan had heard quite a lot about it, such as the Ultimate Forces in the Ultimate Land, and the Primordial Chaos Ancient Tree Space. However, when he heard about them before, Jing Yan’s feelings were not particularly strong.

Ultimately, it was because there was no comparison.

Previously, Jing Yan knew of the terrifying power of strong people at the level of Ancestor Hong Jun, but had never seen him in person. In his home universe, he had only seen a trace of Divine Soul Energy. The strongest he’d seen so far was at the level of Senior Brother He Jiu and Yuanqi Country Lord. Although strong, they were not vastly beyond Jing Yan’s current level.

But the Ancient Vine Elder before him rendered Jing Yan powerless. Even just one vine among the countless others was enough to ensnare him. And yet, this was merely an ordinary vine on the Primordial Chaos Tree.

What exactly is the Primordial Chaos Tree?

A vine so powerful, and a single seed could birth a universe.

Jing Yan felt that this Endless Chaos was likely far more complex than he imagined.

Moreover, from the words of the Ancient Vine Elder, Jing Yan also understood some meaning. The Primordial Chaos Ancient Tree Space seemed to need more Guardian strength.

Yet Jing Yan was somewhat unclear about what kind of force could threaten the Primordial Chaos Tree?

How did the Ancient Tree Elder fall? A servant of the Ancient Tree Elder had such terrifying power; how strong was the Ancient Tree Elder himself? Such an Ultimate Strong People, in the Endless Chaos, who else could threaten him?

In a short time, Jing Yan thought about many things. But some matters were destined to remain unknown to him at his current level, which was still too low.

"Elder Guten. I don’t quite understand. You said the Ancient Tree Space is in jeopardy. Is it possible that someone intends harm to the Primordial Chaos Tree?" Jing Yan asked.

The Ancient Vine Elder, upon hearing Jing Yan’s question, did not immediately speak but remained silent for a moment.

He looked at Jing Yan and said, "There have always been those who harbor ill intentions towards the Primordial Chaos Tree. From the beginning of Chaos, there have always been beings coveting the Primordial Chaos Tree. Jing Yan, your current strength is still far too weak. Many things you cannot understand. Your questions may seem perplexing now, but once you are strong enough, all will become clear."

"Jing Yan, the reason I brought you here and asked if you wish to become a Guardian of the Ancient Tree is primarily because of your righteous heart. You are not an evil person. Therefore, you are suitable to be a Guardian. If you were malevolent, no matter how talented you were, I would not have brought you here." The Ancient Vine Elder continued.

"Elder..." Jing Yan said with a wry smile.

"Jing Yan, what you need to understand is that the Primordial Chaos Ancient Tree Space cannot hold for much longer. Once it shatters, the entire Endless Chaos will have no sanctuary. No one will escape." The Ancient Vine Elder said.

"But with my meager strength, it seems far too inadequate," Jing Yan frowned. "Even if I have the will to protect the Ancient Tree Space, what can I do?"

"Your current strength is indeed still very weak! But that doesn’t mean you will always be weak. Furthermore, once you receive the Ancient Tree Inheritance, your training will become easier," the Ancient Vine Elder said.

He left it to Jing Yan to decide for himself, though through his words and actions, he seemed to hope greatly for Jing Yan to become a Guardian of the Ancient Tree.

"Elder, as long as becoming a Guardian of the Ancient Tree does not require committing evil deeds, I will not hesitate to take on the duty," Jing Yan nodded in acknowledgment.

"So, you are willing to become a Guardian?" The Ancient Vine Elder displayed a genuine smile for the first time, his deep eyes brightening considerably.

"Yes! I am willing!" Jing Yan nodded again.

"Haha... good, very good!" The Ancient Vine Elder’s deeply wrinkled face was full of smiles.

"Follow me!" the Ancient Vine Elder said, turning to walk inside.

In the midst of countless vines, a path opened as the Ancient Vine Elder walked forward. Now, Jing Yan followed the Ancient Vine Elder behind the myriad vines.

Beyond that was an azure palace. This palace was quite unique, as it seemed entirely constructed from plants, devoid of any minerals or similar substances, and these plants possessed Life Force.

Upon entering the palace, they reached its central area.

Jing Yan noticed a massive, peculiar pattern at the center of the palace. The pattern resembled a grand tree, lifelike in form.

"Jing Yan, kneel!" The Ancient Vine Elder pointed to the pattern.

"Elder, is this pattern drawn according to the shape of the Primordial Chaos Tree?" Jing Yan asked casually.

"Indeed! Before entering here, you should have seen this relic appears as a great tree, which the master constructed deliberately based on the appearance of the Primordial Chaos Tree," the Ancient Vine Elder nodded.

Jing Yan asked no more questions, stepped forward, and knelt on the pattern.

Jing Yan did not fear any malice from the Ancient Vine Elder. Given the Ancient Vine Elder’s power, Jing Yan knew he stood no chance of resistance. If malice were intended, why would the Ancient Vine Elder bother to speak so much? With control over him, Jing Yan would merely be at his mercy.

Moreover, Jing Yan sensed no evil aura from the Ancient Vine Elder.

Once Jing Yan knelt, the Ancient Vine Elder raised his arms, and his body quivered slightly. On his surface, strands of luminous light suddenly emerged. This light instantly filled the entire palace. Then, a force seemed activated within the palace. That force descended upon Jing Yan with a roar.

Immediately, Jing Yan felt a vast amount of information flooding into his mind, merging with his Divine Soul Body!

This information was incredibly mysterious and obscure. In just an instant, Jing Yan realized this was a kind of Secret Technique inheritance, akin to the Hongmeng Dao Pattern technique. Its level seemed no lower than the Hongmeng Dao Pattern, possibly even stronger. But with Jing Yan’s current abilities, he could not definitively assess which was stronger between this inheritance and the Hongmeng Dao Pattern.

A full thirty minutes passed before the energy fluctuation ceased. Jing Yan’s mind was now imbued with an incredibly powerful Secret Technique.

"Alright, Jing Yan, you may stand up now." The Ancient Vine Elder’s voice echoed.

Jing Yan stood up as instructed.

"You have now received the complete Ancient Tree Inheritance. The Ancient Tree Inheritance is a Body Refining Secret Method. I know you have likely trained in some fine Body Refining Secret Method before. Your physical strength is quite formidable, and with this foundation, training in the Ancient Tree Inheritance will be somewhat easier," the Ancient Vine Elder said slowly to Jing Yan.
