Chapter 1961: Chapter 1961: Anticipation

Jing Yan returned to the specific area within the Devouring Sky Clan Fortress and waited patiently.

When Baron discovered the residence deliberately created by Jing Yan, he urgently returned to the Endless Chaos to seek help.

The residence he found had an ordinary house surrounded by a Big Array. Despite his full-blown attacks, he couldn’t damage the array at all. Baron, being an All Things Realm being, realized that it was impossible for him to break the array on his own. Moreover, the helper he needed must be strong enough; if not much stronger than him, they obviously couldn’t break the array outside the house.

Although Baron had already betrayed the Chaotic Ten Thousand Clan Beings, he did know quite a lot of people. The Devouring Heaven Clan required him to gather various information about Chaos Creatures, and he needed to contact more such beings, all while concealing his identity. Those Chaos Creatures he interacted with were unaware of Baron’s traitor status.

Baron found some trustworthy acquaintances he’d been close with and shared his discovery in the Chaotic Region. His friends were very intrigued. Although entering the Chaotic Region is dangerous, fortune favors the bold; without taking risks, how can one seize opportunities and gain resources?

If no one took risks, who would take on the Slaughter God Hall’s missions?

Baron and his group made a simple plan, agreed on the distribution ratio of resources from the residence, and then used a Super Transmission Array to teleport to the area closest to the Endless Chaos, traveling with the Chaos Flying Ship.

This back-and-forth delayed things quite a bit. By the time Baron and the others returned to the Endless Chaos and rediscovered the residence created by Jing Yan, decades had passed.

Meanwhile, Jing Yan had been patiently waiting. Of course, he hadn’t wasted this time, constantly cultivating and improving his realm.

He obtained various chaotic resources from a Devouring Heaven Clan transportation team. Besides a significant portion consumed in mastering the Hongmeng Dao Pattern up to the Sixth Layer, there was still plenty left, more than sufficient for Jing Yan’s cultivation needs for several centuries. However, this assumed he didn’t focus on enhancing Gravity Magic and Ancient Tree Inheritance.

As for understanding the Destruction Dao and other Taoist Laws, that mainly relied on perception and the Divine Soul Body, consuming very little energy, and thus resource expenditure was negligible.

One day, Baron brought a group of All Things Realm beings to the space previously discovered.

Baron had memorized the location of the space before leaving, so his return was smooth.

"There really is a space here!"

A black-robed elder’s eyes lit up.

"Brother Ming, would I deceive you?" Baron said.

"Hahahaha..." Brother Ming laughed heartily.

"Everyone, I’ve been in this space before and honestly found some valuable items inside. However, this residence in the space is protected by a Big Array, which I can’t break through, so I invited you all for help. Rest assured, I stayed in this space for a while without encountering any danger. The array didn’t retaliate when I attacked it. I’m pretty confident that there shouldn’t be any danger inside the house either." Baron addressed the group.

"Daoist Baron, what are we waiting for then?" someone, quite impatient, spoke up.

"Let’s go in!" Baron said with a smile.

The group entered the residence space one after another. Baron directly led his recruited helpers to the house.

"Everyone, this is the house. You may first test the defensive power of the outer array; with my strength, attacking the array had no effect!" Baron said, exhaling.

"I’ll give it a try first!" Brother Ming, clad in a black robe, stepped forward.

No one else contested with Brother Ming. They’d already agreed on a distribution plan before coming. Whatever resources or treasures were found in the residence, they would be distributed according to the plan.

Brother Ming raised his fists, Divine Power surging through him, Tao Aura spreading, as he launched a fierce attack on the house.

"Boom!" Two dazzling lights flashed as the Divine Patterns on the surrounding Big Array flickered slightly.

That was it!

Brother Ming’s nearly full-strength strike merely caused a ripple in the Divine Patterns of the Big Array. Initially confident, Brother Ming’s already dark face turned even darker seeing the result.

Baron and the others didn’t mock Brother Ming; they were well aware of his strength. Since even Brother Ming’s full-force attack couldn’t damage the Guardian Array, their own attacks wouldn’t even stir the array’s Divine Pattern.

"It’s too strong! The defensive power of this array is terrifying!"

"Indeed! The senior who left this residence must be at least a Controller Level, and a very powerful one at that."

"What do we do now?"

"What can we do? We’re already here, we have to try. Let’s attack together and see if we can damage the array. Once damaged, it’s just a matter of time, and we have plenty of that." said the crowd.

Then, they all activated their Divine Power and launched attacks on the outer Big Array of the house.

For a time, continuous sounds of strikes echoed.

After a while, they ceased, realizing that despite their efforts, they still couldn’t damage the array. Perhaps they could deplete some of the array’s energy, but who knew how long it would take to exhaust the energy.

"Seems we’ll need to call for help! With our combined strength, we cannot break this array!"

"Yes, we need stronger helpers, preferably someone at the Controller Level."

"However, inviting a Controller will come at a high price. The treasures found here would likely be mostly taken by the Controller."

"The strength of this outer array indicates the owner’s immense power. Such an entity leaving a residence here must have tons of treasures. Even if we get a small share, it will be worth it. That small portion will likely exceed our expectations."

The group gathered and discussed their next steps.

"Daoist Baron, you discovered this residence. What do you suggest?" someone asked Baron.

"Seems like we’ll have to request a Controller’s assistance," Baron said, a bit reluctantly.

"I know a Controller, and we don’t need to leave the Chaotic Region. I have a long-distance Communication Treasure with me that can notify that esteemed individual to come. That person is capable of building a wormhole to travel and will arrive here quickly." One All Things Realm being proposed to the others.

"Then send the communication quickly! Invite that esteemed individual over!" the crowd urged.
