Chapter 2001: Virtualization Secret Runes

Chapter 2001: Chapter 2001: Virtualization Secret Runes

A month later, Jing Yan’s inauguration ceremony took place, attended by many Controllers in Chaos, and even several Title Controllers descended upon the Hongjun Heavenly Palace.

The leaders of the three Ultimate Forces, Valley Master Qi Ying, Yihua Palace Master, and Juefeng Mountain Master from Boundaryless Spirit Mountain, all personally came to offer their congratulations.

The powerful beings attending the ceremony, of course, could not come empty-handed. Each person prepared a gift. The gift could not be light, as no one wanted to be looked down upon. Those qualified to attend the celebration were all prominent figures in Chaos. Moreover, the matter of Jing Yan having killed He Ming made almost all the powerful beings in Chaos feel a sense of vigilance, including those Title Controllers. A standard gift just wouldn’t suffice.

The powerful beings in Chaos all knew Jing Yan possessed the Time-Space Chain, but so far, no one had dared to inquire about it. There were certainly envious people, but no one had the courage to actually plan and attempt to seize it. Including the Ancient Title Controllers, none had the confidence to take the Time-Space Chain from Jing Yan.

The inauguration ceremony didn’t last long, concluding in just three days.

After the ceremony, Jing Yan officially became the Palace Master of the Hongjun Heavenly Palace, also known as a Chaos Giant.

After organizing the internal and external affairs of the Heavenly Palace, Jing Yan temporarily stayed within to continue cultivating the Hongmeng Dao Pattern and researching the formations left by Ancestor Hong Jun. In Chaos, Ancestor Hong Jun’s research on formations was extremely profound, and even those Ancient Title Controllers highly praised his mastery in formations.

Among the Ultimate Forces, the defensive formations of the Hongjun Heavenly Palace were the strongest.

In the secret chamber, Jing Yan sat cross-legged.

"Finally, I have some time!"

"Let’s first take a look at the gains from a month ago." Jing Yan retrieved some Mobile Spaces and worlds, using Divine Thought to search these spaces that stored a vast amount of treasures.

During that great battle, Jing Yan successively killed many Controller-level entities, including Master Mie Chun, Master Yang Liao, and Deputy Hall Master Tao Wu, among others. These included Controllers from the Void Divine Hall and those two Chaos Country Controllers planning to devour Shelun Country. In total, Jing Yan slew twelve Controllers. All their personal resources were collected by Jing Yan.

Apart from these Controllers, there was also the Title Controller He Ming.

These Controllers, having traversed Chaos for countless years, had accumulated an abundance of resources.

Jing Yan meticulously examined and categorized the various resources, too lazy to calculate their value. What he could use, he put aside, and what he couldn’t, he planned to later contribute to the Treasure Vault of the Hongjun Heavenly Palace.

"This one belongs to He Ming’s personal world." Jing Yan looked at the oval-shaped black object in his hand.

At Jing Yan’s level, there wasn’t much difference between personal worlds and personal spaces. Worlds are where the Law is more complete, allowing life to exist freely, whereas spaces have more limitations. However, when a life-form enters the Taoist Realm, it can easily complete the Law of a world. Therefore, for powerful life-forms in Chaos, there’s not much distinction between a world and a space.

"That old thing, He Ming, was truly wealthy!" Jing Yan explored this personal world.

There were no life forms within this world, but the stored resources were vast in quantity. Although not as much as those in the Devouring Heaven Clan’s warehouse, the value of He Ming’s resources likely exceeded that of the warehouse. For a Chaos Giant like He Ming, objects worthy of his attention were certainly of high value. He wouldn’t bother to store ordinary things deliberately.

"Huh? What’s this?" Jing Yan’s Divine Thought detected a peculiar object.

With a thought, the unusual item appeared in Jing Yan’s hand. It looked hand-sized, seemingly wooden, yet upon holding, felt slightly heavy. Given Jing Yan’s immense power, even he sensed the slight weight of the object. One could imagine the object’s astonishing quality.

"It’s heavy! Strange, what material is this?"

"Much heavier than any material I’ve known. The heaviest material I know is only about a tenth of its weight."

"This... my Divine Thought finds it challenging to penetrate." Jing Yan looked at the object in his hand with curiosity.

"No... there’s something familiar! This material seems similar to the material of the Devouring Sky Clan Fortress!" Jing Yan suddenly recalled.

Jing Yan had seen the Devouring Sky Clan Fortress twice and had entered it both times. He hadn’t studied the materials of the fortress in-depth, so he didn’t immediately recognize the object when he first saw it. But after observing more carefully and thinking it over, Jing Yan remembered.

The hand-sized black object felt strikingly similar to the material of the Devouring Sky Clan Fortress.

"Let’s give it a try!" Jing Yan activated his Divine Power with a fierce grip.

The terrifying Divine Power pressed down on the black object.

"Sizzle!" A subtle sound emanated from the black object.

However, the object’s surface remained unscathed. Jing Yan had used a large portion of his Divine Power in that grip but was unable to leave any marks on the black object.

"Indeed! It’s that material!"

"Chaos Creatures attacking the Devouring Sky Clan Fortress, even Controllers can’t damage it. Only Title Controllers can damage the fortress. That material possessed a peculiar ability to absorb external attack energy."

Jing Yan pondered.

While pushing Divine Power on the black object, Jing Yan carefully sensed it, realizing that this black object had absorbed more than ninety percent of his attack energy.

Jing Yan’s eyes suddenly brightened.

"Could He Ming’s Virtualization Ability be due to this thing? I’ve also mastered the Void Path, but I have no clue about the Virtualization Ability or even how to begin understanding it. Yet He Ming had mastered that ability; it’s very likely he drew inspiration from this object." Jing Yan took a deep breath.

"Let’s study it first!" Jing Yan focused intently.

The penetration of Divine Thought was slow, with significant resistance, but Jing Yan’s Divine Soul was strong enough to make progress, albeit requiring extra time.

Once Divine Thought thoroughly investigated the black object, Jing Yan opened his eyes, and a gleam flashed within them.

He was right!

This black object was indeed extraordinary. It was etched with numerous extremely strange patterns, resembling various Divine Patterns in Chaos. However, these internal patterns were distinct from those in Chaos. The characteristics of the patterns differed entirely from those of Divine Patterns.

Recalling He Ming’s exhibition of the Virtualization Ability and the phenomena within space, Jing Yan was almost certain that by mastering these peculiar patterns, he could also acquire the Virtualization Ability.
