Chapter 2072: Disparity
Chapter 2072: Disparity
The Otherworldly Chaos Dao Master Luo Dejie spoke no more and gently waved his arm.
From behind him, a flamboyantly robed apostle darted forward, launching an attack straight at Sword Emperor Lishu.
Around Lishu’s body, the encircling short swords transformed into a black Sword Light, sweeping towards the apostle.
"Boom!" The black Sword Light collided with the apostle.
Jing Yan saw space before the apostle brimming with numerous Virtualization Divine Patterns, neutralizing most of the Power of the black Sword Light. The remaining Power hardly harmed the apostle, merely forcing him to retreat.
Lishu’s Combat Power is indeed formidable. If someone like Ma Yi Ancestor were to face the apostle one-on-one, they’d be at a disadvantage, and are not the apostle’s match. But Lishu, facing the apostle, could repel him, proving her strength is superior to the apostle’s, at least stronger than the suppressed apostle in this Chaos.
The apostle, after being pushed back, displayed an even more frenzied expression, his fighting spirit rising continuously, and he clashed with Lishu once more.
From the battle’s perspective, although Lishu’s Combat Power surpassed the apostle, killing the apostle seemed unlikely in the short term.
Dao Master Luo Dejie turned his gaze towards Jing Yan.
As Jing Yan and the many Ancient Tree Spirits emerged from the Ancient Tree Space, Luo Dejie had taken notice of him.
"Are you that Jing Yan?"
"It’s truly unimaginable how an anomaly like you could appear in this Chaos. Though I dislike admitting it, you are indeed the greatest variable in my control of this Chaos." Luo Dejie’s voice sounded slowly.
According to Luo Dejie’s original plan, now was not the best time to seize this Chaos. He had been plotting, waiting for a better opportunity. Yet Jing Yan’s sudden rise disrupted his plans. Jing Yan’s ascent was so swift that he couldn’t react.
He realized that if he continued with his original plan, Jing Yan would grow even stronger, and more difficult to handle. Thus, he was forced to advance his plans, prompting the Devouring Sky Clan’s creatures to initiate a preemptive suicidal final battle.
Luo Dejie also understood that the failure of the Devouring Sky Clan’s creatures was inevitable. However, he didn’t care. Those Heaven Devouring Clan Mothers were merely his playthings. Losses were trivial. Without the numerous constraints of the Chaos Origin Will, he could’ve easily inserted more Heaven Devouring Clan Mothers into this Chaos.
Luo Dejie also knew the apostle he initially sent into this Chaos had died. He felt some anger, but not much concern.
As long as he could control this Chaos, even if all his followers perished, he could accept it.
"Should I be honored?" Jing Yan quipped, pressing his lips together.
Hearing Jing Yan, Luo Dejie paused slightly.
"You’re here to stop me, aren’t you? Do you think you can stop me? Haha, from the moment I and my followers descended into this Chaos, no one has been able to stop me. Jing Yan, not even you. In this Chaos, there are ignorant beings who dare call you a Dao Master. Do you know what a true Dao Master is?" Luo Dejie asked, eyes narrowing.
"I don’t know!" Jing Yan shook his head.
"Indeed, you have a chance to become a real Dao Master. Why not join me and become my follower? In the future, I could make you a Dao Master, reigning over countless Dao Skills." Luo Dejie attempted to lure Jing Yan once more.
Jing Yan smiled and shook his head, "I don’t know your name, sir."
"You are the strongest being in this Chaos. It’s only fitting you know my name. Listen well, my name is Luo Dejie. Once I devour the Life Force of the Primordial Chaos Tree within this Chaos and grasp the Supreme Rule of Chaos, I will rename this Chaos as Luo Dejie Chaos!" Luo Dejie’s eyes gleamed brightly.
"It’s time to wake up from your dream!" Jing Yan’s figure trembled slightly.
The Ice Flame Sword in his hand materialized, and he swung it directly. Sword Light extended, with astonishing Law spiraling in the Void. This Sword Light from the Chaos Sword swiftly reached Luo Dejie’s presence.
Luo Dejie’s expression did not change as the Sword Light approached, lifting his arm to slap down upon it. Without any large movement, the Sword Light of the Chaos Sword shattered into countless pieces.
Witnessing this, Jing Yan gasped.
Strong!
So strong!
Even though Jing Yan had tried to estimate Luo Dejie’s strength beforehand, it turned out he had severely underestimated it. That Sword Light, though not his full force, still accounted for seventy to eighty percent of Jing Yan’s Attack Power. Yet such an attack was effortlessly crushed by Luo Dejie’s single palm.
"How naive!"
"Do you think that to be a Dao Master reigning over the Great Dao is merely a casual description? You have no understanding of the gap between you and a Dao Master. If not for my strength being restrained by the Chaos Origin Will, you all would be extinguished with the snap of a finger." Luo Dejie’s words carried a palpable arrogance.
Luo Dejie slightly motioned with his arm again, and from behind him, another apostle flashed out, charging at Jing Yan.
Jing Yan, having already slain one apostle, had a firm grasp of their strength. He swung the Ice Flame Sword, sending the apostle flying away.
"Hmm? It seems... stronger than the apostle I killed at the Western Region Main Hall." Jing Yan thought, frowning.
He was unsure if this apostle was inherently stronger than the one he had slain, or if the Chaos Origin Will’s suppression of apostles entering from outside had lessened.
Engaged in combat with an apostle, Lishu also took note of Jing Yan’s actions, observing as he sent the apostle flying with ease.
She was familiar with Jing Yan.
Though young, Jing Yan had recently stirred up significant commotion within the Endless Chaos, making it hard for her not to notice. She had heard of Jing Yan killing He Ming, making the Boundaryless Spirit Mountain Master Juefeng helpless, and countless other tales about him. She also knew of Jing Yan’s immense strength. Yet after seeing Jing Yan’s one-sword action repelling an apostle to such a distance, she couldn’t help but feel her estimation of his strength was inaccurate.
She realized that Jing Yan’s strength far surpassed that of the Ancient Tree Elder, once hailed as the Chaos’ strongest.
But what good would it do? No matter how powerful Jing Yan was, he couldn’t stop the Otherworldly Chaos Dao Master Luo Dejie! Sword Emperor Lishu sighed inwardly, retracting her gaze filled with a tinge of sorrow.
The apostle, knocked back by Jing Yan, soon returned for another assault. This time, yet another apostle, filled with a fighting spirit, flew from behind Luo Dejie, both rushing towards Jing Yan simultaneously.
