Chapter 2371: Chapter 2371: The Golden Waterfall in the Starry Sky

Since Jing Yan entered the Immortal Venerable Tower, a hundred years have swiftly passed.

The number of cultivators on the Immortal Venerable Tower Square has not decreased; on the contrary, it has only grown. Initially, only cultivators of the Immortal Venerable Realm and Immortal Rhythm Netherworld Realm came, but later, even ordinary Nether Sky Realm and All Things Realm cultivators flocked from all directions.

More than half of Faro Heaven’s various forces have sent people to the Immortal Venerable Tower Square to await news, and of course, they can conveniently trade resources there as well. In just this short century, the Immortal Venerable Tower Square has gradually developed into a large-scale workshop.

Wu Guo Heavenly Lord did not intervene in this, as once Immortal Venerable Jing Yan exits the Immortal Venerable Tower, the cultivators here will gradually disperse. The location of the Immortal Venerable Tower Square is quite special; there are no cities or dangerous areas in this region that could yield resources. The workshop appears increasingly lively, but ultimately, it is akin to rootless duckweed and cannot last long.

Yangshan Master and others unanimously believe that Immortal Venerable Jing Yan should have entered the Sixth Layer of the Immortal Venerable Tower, though they are unsure how far Immortal Venerable Jing Yan can go within the Sixth Layer. The further he goes, the stronger the Immortal Venerable Seal he obtains will be. In the history of Faro Heaven, there certainly have been some Immortal Venerables who entered the Sixth Layer. The Fire Cloud Immortal Venerable, who was slain by Jing Yan, was one such cultivator.

Historically, some Soul Cultivators have appeared, who usually acquire relatively high-grade Immortal Venerable Seals within the Immortal Venerable Tower. Indeed, cultivators with formidable Divine Soul Bodies have more advantages within the Immortal Venerable Tower compared to ordinary cultivators.

At this moment, Jing Yan, in the Sixth Layer of the Immortal Venerable Tower, has already traveled about half the distance. From the point where he entered the Sixth Layer, with the Seven-colored Light Ball as the endpoint, he is now at the midpoint between the start and the endpoint.

This half of the journey took him a full hundred years to complete, and it is evident that the remaining half will require even more time.

Jing Yan neared the Immortal Venerable Tower four hundred years later!

"Phew!" Jing Yan exhaled a long breath.

The Seven-colored Light Ball was right before his eyes. This light ball was extremely beautiful, and standing in front of it made the experience even deeper. Jing Yan looked at the Seven-colored Light Ball before him, but he found himself at a loss for words to describe its beauty. The light ball gave Jing Yan the impression of perfection, with not a single flaw to be found.

The surface of the Seven-colored Light Ball was enveloped in seven distinct rotating and swirling lights, and the lines between these lights were so clear that even Jing Yan’s naked eyes could discern them.

"What on earth is this?" Jing Yan pondered.

Before entering the Immortal Venerable Tower, he had specifically researched information about it, but none of these sources mentioned the Seven-colored Light Ball. This indicated that very few cultivators knew about the Seven-colored Light Ball on the Sixth Layer of the Immortal Venerable Tower. It was even possible that, among those who had entered the Sixth Layer, very few Immortal Venerables had ever seen the Seven-colored Light Ball.

Otherwise, why were there no records of the Seven-colored Light Ball in the Heavenly Domain?

After observing it for a while, Jing Yan refrained from touching the Seven-colored Light Ball because he did not know if it posed any danger. After some deliberation, Jing Yan extended a wisp of Divine Thought to cover the Seven-colored Light Ball.

"This..." Upon contact with the Seven-colored Light Ball, Jing Yan’s expression changed, and his eyes narrowed.

When his Divine Thought touched the Seven-colored Light Ball, it was as if it had been swallowed silently with no response, as though it had been severed soundlessly.

Jing Yan had encountered such a situation before, but with the growth of his Divine Soul Body, it had been a long time since he encountered an object that could completely absorb his Divine Thought. Even just a wisp of Divine Thought was immensely powerful.

This Seven-colored Light Ball could absorb his Divine Thought without any ripple, further proving that this item was not ordinary.

Pausing for a moment, Jing Yan released more Divine Thought. This time, the amount was ten times what he had initially released.

Once again, a mysterious event occurred as Jing Yan’s released Divine Thought disappeared without a trace. The Seven-colored Light Ball remained unchanging, as if Jing Yan had never released any Divine Thought over it at all.

"What is this thing?"

"Even an Emperor Weapon shouldn’t be like this, right?" Jing Yan furrowed his brows tightly.

Determined, his Divine Soul Body quivered violently, and a surge of Divine Soul Power was released. This time, Jing Yan had unleashed around seventy to eighty percent of his Divine Soul Power to cover the Seven-colored Light Ball.

When the massive Divine Soul Power once again touched the Seven-colored Light Ball, changes appeared on its surface. The seven lights expanded like spreading clouds. Although the ball’s size did not increase, to Jing Yan, the seven lights were expanding at an alarming speed. Almost instantly, Jing Yan found himself immersed within, as if he had entered another world.

A vast starry sky filled with countless stars.

Jing Yan’s vision seemed to penetrate through layers of space-time. Objects that were distant one moment would appear up close the next, and moments later, they would move behind him. Space-time here was imperceptible, yet more acutely felt than anywhere else.

Indeterminate time passed—perhaps a mere blink, or perhaps billions of years.

A golden waterfall-like pattern, hanging in the starry sky, entered Jing Yan’s sight.

"What is that?" Jing Yan’s eyes widened.

The golden waterfall swayed subtly, seeming weightless, yet to Jing Yan, it felt immensely heavy, many millions of times heavier than anything he had previously seen. On the golden waterfall, there were indistinct shadows. Enraptured, Jing Yan longed desperately to see these shadows more clearly. Exerting every effort, he managed to glimpse them a little more distinctly.

"That seems like writing!" Jing Yan thought the shadows resembled characters.

These characters weren’t permanently inscribed on the golden waterfall but seemed rather tethered to it, swaying as the waterfall floated in the starry sky.

At this moment, Jing Yan felt his Divine Soul trembling. He wanted to get closer still, though his Divine Soul Body was utterly exhausted, Jing Yan held nothing back. The golden waterfall and the figures upon it appeared to wield an irresistible allure over him.

"Boom!" Just then, Jing Yan’s body shuddered violently as if struck fiercely by a surge of energy against his Divine Soul Body.

And then, Jing Yan regained consciousness. He turned his dazed gaze around, realizing he had returned to the Sixth Layer of the Immortal Venerable Tower. Before him, the Seven-colored Light Ball remained. Taking a deep breath, Jing Yan still couldn’t calm the turmoil in his heart. Soon, Jing Yan realized that his body hadn’t genuinely entered that starry world—he had been within the Sixth Layer of the Immortal Venerable Tower all along, yet he was certain the vision he had just witnessed was no illusion.
