Arc 19: Qianyuan Greater World | Chapter 362: Battle (1)

The Baiyun Mountain Domain, confident after gathering information on the newly recruited disciples of the Wuling Mountain Domain, believed that sending this many Nascent Soul and Divine Transformation cultivators would surely suppress the two defenders and eliminate a future threat. Their arrogance was evident.

When the Divine Transformation cultivator gave the order, the other Nascent Soul cultivators chuckled, their disdain palpable.

Xu Ziqing frowned slightly and glanced at Yun Lie. “Shixiong?”

Yun Lie responded, “You guard the rear.”

Xu Ziqing’s expression became serious. “Yes, I will give it my all. Shixiong, be careful.”

Yun Lie acknowledged his words.

At that moment, Xu Ziqing looked back at the opponents and said calmly, “In that case, let’s see what you can do.”

The cultivators from Baiyun Mountain, seeing the brothers unmoved, lost their smug expressions. The Divine Transformation cultivator waved his hand and commanded, “You two, go teach these juniors a lesson.”

Among the five Nascent Soul cultivators, two particularly vicious-looking individuals stepped forward, while the others retreated to a boat-shaped magical artifact and left the summit of the celestial pillar.

Xu Ziqing thought to himself, “Here they come!”

Though he wasn’t afraid, he stepped back to prepare. He rubbed his hands together, and brilliant green light burst from his palms. In an instant, a hundred giant vines surged from the ground. Each vine was several dozen meters long and as thick as a barrel, their black surfaces gleaming like iron.

The two cultivators paused briefly, then sneered. “Such a petty trick, and you dare show it off?” The one in the blue robe spread his fingers, summoning a glowing whip, a treasure weapon. With a loud crack, the whip struck the ground, igniting a blaze that split the earth, leaving a scorched patch.

At the same time, the fire reached one of the outermost vines, quickly engulfing it and reducing it to a pile of ash.

Such raw power! Even the residual force was enough to destroy the vine!

But Xu Ziqing was not surprised. With a single thought, a new vine sprouted from the ashes, identical to the one before, demonstrating the cycle of life and death.

Plants are ever-growing; just because one is destroyed doesn’t mean the battle is over. Otherwise, he’d be too weak.

The other Nascent Soul cultivator, dressed in purple with a matching complexion, opened his mouth and spat out a cloud of violet mist that shot toward Xu Ziqing and Yun Lie like lightning. It seemed that in a blink, the violet light was upon them!

The speed of a Nascent Soul cultivator’s techniques far surpassed that of a Golden Core cultivator!

Xu Ziqing’s gaze sharpened, not daring to relax.

Though these opponents were arrogant, a Nascent Soul cultivator was still a Nascent Soul cultivator. Even if their words were crude, their skills were not to be underestimated.

With his keen eyesight, Xu Ziqing could see tiny needles hidden within the violet mist, invisible to the naked eye. Even a sweep of one’s spiritual sense would only catch a glimpse of the cold gleam of the needle tips—an attack that could pierce the heart in an instant!

However, Xu Ziqing did not move because Yun Lie had already made his move.

Yun Lie stood motionless, but from between his brows flew out a black and gold sword, which instantly multiplied into a massive, chilling sword formation.

At the same moment, the violet mist rushed into the sword formation but was instantly shredded to pieces by its shifting movements.

This was merely a probing attack from the two Nascent Soul cultivators.

After this exchange, their eyes became much more serious.

Xu Ziqing formed a hand seal with his fingers, ready to react the moment the enemy made another move.

Yun Lie stood silently within the sword formation, his hair gently swaying. A cold aura radiated from him, spreading in all directions, as if it could freeze space itself.

In an instant, killing intent filled the air like wind and water, making anyone who sensed it feel a deep chill.

Then, the two Nascent Soul cultivators transformed into shadowy figures and rushed at them!

So fast!

Xu Ziqing felt a chill in his heart and made a swift gesture with his finger. The black vines instantly encircled, attempting to capture the two shadows. However, in the next moment, it felt as though a massive hammer had struck his chest, causing him to let out a muffled groan, almost as if he had suffered internal injuries.

In that split second, all the vines were severed and destroyed.

The two Nascent Soul cultivators continued their advance without any hindrance from the vines.

Indeed, Nascent Soul Laozu was not to be underestimated.

Yun Lie flickered and positioned himself in front of Xu Ziqing, and the sword formation moved with him, covering the entire summit of the sky pillar.

The number of swords was likely in the tens of thousands, if not more.

They formed a dense mass, like a sudden downpour.

At that moment, the two Nascent Soul cultivators closed in.

The sword formation activated instantly, and on both the southeast and southwest sides, countless small swords converged, rushing forth like a flood, roaring with sound. It was as if they had formed a massive sword, aiming to skewer the two cultivators like hedgehogs!

The two Nascent Soul cultivators hesitated momentarily and had no choice but to quickly evade. One wielded a whip and lashed it fiercely, while the other grabbed with both hands, shattering many black-gold swords.

Yet in the blink of an eye, the small swords reformed, with an unceasing, relentless force.

This was truly… frustrating.

The two Nascent Soul cultivators had no choice but to continuously expend their vital energy while desperately searching for a flaw in the sword formation. They didn’t hold back and unleashed their strongest techniques, trying to break through the formation directly.

After much probing, the purple-robed Nascent Soul cultivator finally shouted, “This is sword intent manifested into physical form!”

The blue-robed Nascent Soul cultivator cursed inwardly as well.

The abilities of a sword cultivator far surpassed those of others in the same realm. If a sword cultivator comprehended sword intent and reached a profound level, they could dominate an entire region.

And sword intent that manifested into physical form… That was a clear sign of an incredibly deep mastery of sword intent!

If it were an ordinary formation made of magical artifacts, no matter how complex or ingenious, there would always be a flaw. To break such a formation, one merely had to find the flaw and attack it with all their strength. Most of the time, that would lead to success. However, this formation was born of sword intent. How could one defend against it? Even if a flaw was found, unless someone could completely shatter the sword intent, the formation master could instantly repair any flaw with just a thought, as long as their sword intent remained intact.

To deal with this kind of sword intent, one would need to confront it with sword intent of their own—otherwise, it would be extremely difficult to handle.

Amid this stalemate, Xu Ziqing wasn’t surprised by the destruction of his vines. He clenched his hands, causing a brilliant green light to burst forth.

The ground where the countless black vines had once grown now roiled, the remnants turning to nothingness. In the same instant, even more robust blood-red vines shot skyward. These vines were even larger than the black ones, and much more formidable.

Silently, enormous buds the size of barrels appeared on the blood-red vines. Inside, sharp teeth opened and closed menacingly, exuding a terrifying aura that filled those who saw them with fear.

At this moment, Xu Ziqing released the bloodthirsty demon vines, disregarding previous reservations.

In just a blink, the summit of the celestial pillar transformed into a hellish landscape, radiating a bloodthirsty brilliance.

Yun Lie’s brow glowed with black-gold light, and countless black-gold swords shot forth like needle-like torrents, enveloping the two Nascent Soul cultivators even more tightly.

The two Nascent Soul cultivators were forced to take a step further. After exchanging glances, they slapped their foreheads, unleashing a tremendous invisible force from above.

It was the Small Universe of their Zifus!

Two immense figures appeared in the void, radiating incomparable power, with countless traces of Dao shimmering within them. These figures descended with crushing force, intending to shatter the sword formation.

The two Nascent Soul cultivators had clearly made up their minds, planning to use the power of their Small Universes to destroy the sword formation’s sword intent! But it was evident they underestimated Yun Lie’s power. Yun Lie’s eyes flashed with black-gold light, and in an instant, countless small swords converged into two torrents, forming two colossal swords as large as mountains!

With a flash of sharp light, the massive swords shot forward, piercing toward the two Small Universes!

“Boom—Boom boom!”

After the earth-shattering clash, the immense swords collided with the two Small Universes, unleashing such powerful force that the surrounding space seemed on the verge of shattering.

The sword formation, born from Yun Lie’s sword intent, could shift endlessly according to his will. Even though the two Nascent Soul cultivators summoned their Small Universes with great speed, Yun Lie’s thoughts moved faster. Before the Small Universes could fully stabilize, the gigantic swords took advantage of the opening, violently shattering them!

These two Nascent Soul cultivators were fierce opponents. Seeing that their Small Universes couldn’t gather, they immediately realized the situation was turning against them. First, they lacked the ability to break through the sword formation. Second, it would take them considerable effort to reassemble their Small Universes, something they couldn’t accomplish quickly.

It was clear they were going to lose.

But how could they accept defeat so easily?

The blue-robed Nascent Soul cultivator flicked his long whip, which twisted like a venomous snake, striking directly at Xu Ziqing’s chest!

The attack was aimed to crush Xu Ziqing’s bones, and the whip’s venomous nature meant that, if struck, even his soul would be shattered!

Xu Ziqing took a deep breath, and with a thought, Rongjin whipped its branches forward to shield him.

It seemed that this battle wasn’t a simple sparring match after all, and the threats made earlier were not empty words.

Among the mountain regions, disciples could take each other’s lives. Since that was the case… he couldn’t hold back!

The bloodthirsty demon vines had matured, their hardness surpassing that of magical treasures.

Though the whip was powerful, when it lashed against the demon vines, it only produced the sound of metal clashing—unable to penetrate or break Xu Ziqing’s body or soul. However, due to the Nascent Soul cultivator’s intense aura, the demon vines couldn’t get close to him or fully unleash their power.

Yun Lie’s expression remained cold, and the sword formation surged violently.

Countless sword edges spun wildly, trapping the purple-robed Nascent Soul cultivator, grinding him down inch by inch!

Despite his immense strength, the purple-robed cultivator’s protective aura was cut layer by layer. In desperation, he roared, preparing to self-destruct—

But in that instant, all the swords merged into one, piercing straight into his dantian.

The sheer intensity of the sword intent could annihilate a soul.

The black-gold sword stabbed into the purple-robed cultivator’s dantian, piercing his Nascent Soul. The destructive force traveled upward, shattering his Zifu.

With one more twist, the sword destroyed his very soul.

Meanwhile, the blue-robed Nascent Soul cultivator was still locked in a standoff with the bloodthirsty demon vines, when countless swords suddenly rained down upon him.

He glanced over and saw his purple-robed companion fall backward, blood streaming from all seven orifices. His pupils contracted sharply, and for a brief moment, he faltered.

In that split second of distraction, several swords pierced his body, drawing blood.

At the same time, the bloodthirsty demon vines, sensing the scent of blood, immediately lunged, breaking through the protective aura of the blue-robed Nascent Soul cultivator.

In the next instant, the vines burrowed into his bleeding wounds, and the massive buds viciously sucked away his blood—

In moments, the blue-robed Nascent Soul cultivator’s entire body was drained of flesh and blood!

A wisp of his soul escaped from the Zifu, but a black-gold sword caught it mid-flight. With a quick twist, it was completely obliterated.

The entire battle lasted less than half an hour, and both Nascent Soul cultivators were utterly destroyed, their souls annihilated.

What was supposed to be a mere test for this new disciple unexpectedly resulted in the complete loss of two Nascent Soul cultivators!
