175 How Was She Supposed to Communicate Something Like This to Them?

Lin Wan quickly turned off the speaker and put the phone on handset mode. “I am at the Lili Club at the South Gate of the district. Why are you back home? I will come back by myself. I will call you later, alright?”

“Wanwan—” Before Li Yanchen could even finish his sentence, the call ended. He headed to the underground parking lot of the clubhouse.

In Lili Club’s luxurious private room, the ladies who had been woken up by the phone call looked at Lin Wan.

“Mrs. Li, we all heard you. Don’t play dumb anymore. Tell us how you made Mr. Li so obedient.”

‘How was she supposed to communicate something like this to them?’ Lin Wan closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

When the receptionist knocked on the door to inform Lin Wan that Li Yanchen was waiting for her in the lobby, she jumped up in relief. Ignoring everyone, she put on her clothes. “Thank you so much for today. I have to go. Let’s talk some other time.”

The essential oil on her back was still there. Lin Wan ran out in a hurry. After she ran out the door, she turned back to look at the clubhouse. ‘How could there be so many people asking about her private life?’

She saw Li Yanchen, grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the lobby. He burst out laughing. “Honey, take off the towel on your head first.”

Lin Wan sighed. “Don’t laugh. This was a nightmare. Are Xuanxuan and the other kids back yet?”

“Xuanxuan and Jiejie are having lunch at Secretary Han’s house. Xinxin went to his classmate’s house. Do you want to skip your live broadcast for the afternoon? Come with me to the company. There are far fewer people working overtime on the weekends.” Li Yanchen put his arm around Lin Wan’s shoulders.

Lin Wan was only able to see the lobby and the president’s office last night. Although she wanted to explore other departments in his company, his last sentence made her hesitant.

“I have an appointment with Xia Mo.” Lin Wan shook her head.

“Okay, then. I will return home a little early tonight. By the way, we will be in country H for a few days next week. We might not be back in time for Chinese New Year. Why don’t we go pay respects to your father’s grave tomorrow and take a trip to your old residence?” For the past seven years, regardless of whether it was elder Lin’s death anniversary or other festivals, Li Yanchen had unfailingly visited his grave to pay his respects.

Lin Wan nodded. “I will buy some offerings after the live stream today.” She wanted to visit the old residence where the original owner of this body grew up. But, for some reason, Lin Wan had a bad feeling about it.

At Secretary Han’s house, Li Zexuan played a game with his brothers. Li Zekai and Secretary Han’s nephew ran around the room. They were playing Catch the Tiger.

In the morning, Secretary Han took the two young masters to the Science and Technology Museum. The kids said they might disturb Lin Wan’s sleep if they went back early, so they had to come to Secretary Han’s house.

Secretary Han wasn’t married, and he lived alone. Sometimes, his sister would send her seven-year-old son to his house if he wasn’t away on business trips. Secretary Han had a headache. He had three kids to deal with today.

Li Zexuan was older, so he wasn’t much of a bother. But Li Zekai and Secretary Han’s nephew quarreled and bickered endlessly.

Secretary Han sat on the sofa with a look of despair on his face, holding the remote control in his hand. He deliberately put on the Peppa Pig cartoon, thinking that the two children would be attracted by it. He hoped they would be quiet for a while, but they completely ignored him.

“Uncle Han, can I come to your house in the weekends if Ms. Lin is at home and needs her own time? Your house is pretty interesting, and I don’t have to be worried about being surrounded by others,” said Li Zexuan.

Secretary Han waved his hands. “No can do. I am very busy.”

“But Uncle Han, you have been only watching cartoons all this while. You don’t look very busy. Ms. Lin’s ears are so sensitive, and she gets annoyed when she has to do her live stream. You can hear everything that happens in the living room from upstairs.” Li Zexuan massaged Secretary Han’s shoulders.

“Also, Mr. Li might want to spend time with Ms. Lin alone on the weekends. It is inconvenient if all three of us are at home. If he knows that you took us in to help him, your salary might be increased!”

In the end, Secretary Han made up his mind. “Alright. You can come if I don’t have to work overtime on weekends.”

After reaching an agreement with Secretary Han, Li Zexuan sent a message to his father telling him that he would be back home with Li Zekai only in the evening.

At Yun City Airport Hotel,

Ji Hanzhi and Du Xing continued discussing the situation for two nights. She made an urgent excuse to her manager, Lulu, and asked her to help look after her daughters for a few hours.

Knowing that Li Yanchen was working overtime at the office, Du Xing and Ji Hanzhi rented a car and headed straight for Chenxin.

Ji Hanzhi put on her sunglasses and hat and waited in the car as planned, while Du Xing was in charge of tricking Li Yanchen into coming down to the car where she waited. She intended to take some pictures secretly to create a scandal of Li Yanchen meeting Ji Hanzhi secretly.

The security guard stopped her from going upstairs. Du Xing lied that her brother-in-law had asked her to visit and showed the security guard the group photo she had prepared.

When she reached the 20th floor, she realized that the layout of the company was very different from how her father had described it to her. She wanted to go straight up to the topmost floor, but the entrance was locked with a password.

In the car, Ji Hanzhi turned on the dashcam, so that she had evidence of the fact that Du Xing had planned all of this. This way, even if a scandal broke out, she could still pretend to be innocent and blame Du Xing for manipulating her.

After walking back and forth a few times without finding the exit, Du Xing called her father’s friend who worked in Chenxin. She wanted to ask him to meet her and help her enter the top floor, but he refused. He said that giving her the information of the boss’ whereabouts was the only repayment he could offer for Mr. Du’s kindness of the past. He told her that it was impossible for him to get access to the top floor to send her up.

In the end, Du Xing stood guard at the company entrance and sent a text to Ji Hanzhi.

Ji Hanzhi had been waiting impatiently in the car. She wanted to get out but she didn’t want to be photographed together with Du Xing. So, she stayed inside the car.

Li Yanchen, after finishing with his work, walked toward the parking lot. He was unaware of the conspiracy waiting for him outside.

Du Xing caught sight of Li Yanchen but she stayed put. She didn’t want to approach him just yet because he might run into this company again and hide in his office. She held herself back and only appeared to block his way when he was almost to his car.

Li Yanchen, who had been looking forward to taking Lin Wan for a nice dinner tonight, froze when he saw Du Xing.

“Brother-in-law, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.” Du Xing seemed to have forgotten how she had been chased out of the Royal Water Bay last time. She greeted him with a bright smile.

Li Yanchen frowned. He stuffed his hands inside his pocket and turned toward his car without a word.

Du Xing reached out to grab Li Yanchen’s arm, only to be blocked by the latter without any hesitation. “Du Xing, what do you think you are doing?”

“Brother-in-law, I brought you the person you most wanted to see. Please come with me.”

Li Yanchen snorted. ‘Move aside or I won’t be polite with you anymore.”

Du Xing unbuttoned the top few buttons of her clothes. “Brother-in-law, just come and take a look. I won’t cause any trouble. This is the company’s parking lot. If I scream, you won’t be able to clarify your name. It’s just that car. Are you afraid I will do something to you?”

“If you’re worried that I’ll lock you in the car, just don’t get in. The person will leave as soon as she sees you.” Du Xing continued to unbutton her shirt, threatening Li Yanchen.

He pretended to look at the time on his phone while he discreetly pressed on the recording button. “You said it yourself that after I take a look in that car, you will leave me alone.”

“I swear. I will not bother you again,” Du Xing promised.
