THE VILLAIN'S POV

Chapter 765: A Chapter Written in Death (3)

Back on the Demons’ Side

Inside a dark hall ..

Screams echoed, accompanied by savage howls of agony.

Within that shadowed chamber, only three figures were present.

Amon and Vayne stood side by side, staring at the third ..

the source of those horrifying cries.

The Fourth High Demon .. Wesker.

He had been pulled out from within Vain’s shadow,

and his condition was finally laid bare.

Wesker’s body was in a horrifying state ...

large portions of it had been destroyed,

and even now, frost was relentlessly devouring him from within,

causing unimaginable pain.

His screams did not cease.

The sight was pitiful ..

a level of misery Wesker had never experienced in his entire existence.

Seeing her brother in this state ..

Vayne’s face twisted,

revealing a bitter, anguished expression.

"Is there... no way to save him?"

Her question was directed at Amon, who slowly shook his head.

"There is nothing we can do for him. Saint Gehrman’s frost has spread throughout his entire body. All we can do is delay the process—but saving him is impossible."

Once the frost of a warrior like Gehrman penetrates the body’s core, survival becomes impossible ..

except for those who possess extraordinary bodies, such as the Ghoul King Radagon, or the Demon King Agaroth himself.

But Wesker possessed no such trait.

Seeing his pitiful state ..

the way he writhed in agony ..

Amon turned away, preparing to leave, and issued his command coldly.

"End him yourself. It’s better than letting him remain in such a pathetic condition."

Rather than allowing him to suffer longer only to die anyway, Amon ordered that Wesker be killed immediately.

Vayne wanted to object at first—but she soon fell silent, realizing that refusal would achieve nothing.

Wesker was going to die regardless...

so it was better for him to die by her hand than to lose his life in such a humiliating manner.

"The King favored Wesker... he gave him a great deal of attention," Amon said flatly.

"It’s unfortunate that he’ll die like this..."

"What a... disappointment."

Those were Amon’s final words before leaving the hall, openly displaying his disappointment in Wesker ..

who had suffered his first truly miserable defeat.

And so...

Only Vayne and Wesker remained.

The Third High-Rank Demoness cast one last glance at her brother, pity clearly written across her face.

Slowly, she extended her hand ..

shadow power coiling around her arm as she prepared to deliver the finishing blow that would end the Fourth High Demon forever.

At that moment ..

Wesker suddenly stopped screaming.

His face twisted with mixed emotions—

pain... shock... and fear.

Then, slowly... he understood.

"Haha... me... me... of all creatures... I’m going to die like this?"

Wesker laughed weakly as he crawled toward Vayne.

"Haha... I lose like this?"

He crawled until he reached her and clutched her leg tightly.

"I... I’m dying? No... no! This is unacceptable!"

Wesker screamed in fury, while Vayne’s expression darkened.

"That’s enough, Wesker," she said coldly.

"Just end it already... stop showing me this pathetic side of yours."

Hearing that, Wesker clung to her even tighter.

"You don’t understand... I—I—I must not die..."

He spat frozen blood from his mouth, spraying it across the floor.

"I can’t die... I haven’t achieved my goal yet... I haven’t achieved it!!"

He screamed as more and more blood poured from his body ..

from his mouth ..

black blood tainted with frost.

Cold... corrupted blood.

Wesker was breathing his final breaths, his face growing paler with every passing second.

Within those dying eyes ..

countless memories reflected... images he had buried deep within himself.

"I... I still haven’t obtained that... power..."

He spat more blood, tightening his grip on Vayne.

"The power... that would let me challenge the King..."

At those words, Vayne slowly shook her head.

"You’re babbling nonsense in your final moments," she said with pity.

"Stop it, brother... this doesn’t suit you."

Wesker immediately responded by clinging to her, wrapping his arms around her.

"Yes! Yes! I’m your brother!"

A bloody smile spread across his face as his body began to fracture.

"I’m your brother... aren’t I?"

"Your only brother... you won’t let your brother die... you won’t..."

"You’ll do anything to save me—won’t you?!"

Wesker screamed as Vayne’s expression darkened further, unable to comprehend her dying brother.

His eyes glowed with a sinister red light.

"What is a brother... without his sibling? What is the meaning of kinship if you won’t help your own blood?"

"My life once belonged to you... and now—"

"Your life... should belong to me!"

Wesker screamed one final time ..

Then everything went dark.

Life left his body.

Wesker collapsed dead.

His body exploded into hundreds of fragments in a shocking spectacle.

Within the dark hall ..

Vayne stood alone, staring into the void after everything had ended.

A silence followed ..

heavy, desolate, incomprehensible darkness.

A darkness no one understood...

Except one being.

Far away...

In Helmond ..

The Demon King sat upon his throne, boredom etched across his face.

But suddenly ..

Agaroth’s expression changed, revealing a look he rarely showed.

Surprise.

His crimson eyes flared briefly as his lips moved.

"Wesker... you ... this far ?"

Agaroth spoke deeply, then fell silent for a second ..

Before bursting into wild laughter.

The Demon King laughed.

And laughed.

And laughed.

He laughed long and hard, clearly amused ..

Having witnessed something... interesting.

At the same time ..

Vayne exited the dark hall and rejoined Amon.

He turned to her and asked,

"Is it over?"

In response, Vayne nodded with a bitter expression.

"He’s dead. The Fourth High Demon—Wesker—has drawn his final breath and left this world."

Vayne announced.

Amon nodded, exhaling slowly.

"I see... what a loss."

He passed by Vayne, briefly placing a hand on her shoulder before removing it and walking away ..

offering her a gesture of consolation.

The Third High-Rank Demoness watched him for a moment... then looked forward again.

"Yes... it truly is a loss."

Slowly, Vayne began to walk away, covering her mouth with her hand.

Step by step... until she was far enough.

"...Ah... I can’t hide it anymore."

She slowly removed her hand ..

Revealing her face.

A demonic face ..

split by a wide grin stretching from ear to ear.

An ecstatic... filthy... terrifying smile.

A crimson glow erupted from her eyes.

Then ..

Slowly ..

Vayne’s forehead split open, revealing a horrifying third eye emerging from nothingness.

For several seconds, the void itself trembled as Vayne’s body shook and she laughed ..

A mad, terrifying laugh.

She laughed.

And laughed.

And laughed.

Then—slowly—

She calmed down.

The third eye vanished as if it had never existed.

And thus ..

Vayne left the place behind,

leaving the entire world to revel in the news of Wesker’s death.
