The Villain's Story

Chapter 742: And the last.

Chapter 742: And the last.

A giant the size of a mountain, one would never imagine it stepping back in fear, yet it did, and to a bird that could fit in the palm of its hand.

But the fear was only momentary, and blinding rage and purpose overtook it quickly as it whipped it’s hand back and flung it like a whip.

An impossible motion considering the size of the giant, with blinding speed as well. It was also the first time they had seen the fragment doing this.

Kazikato unleashed a breath of death right into its eyes, yet it paid him no attention and went only for Alan, In his Pheonix form.

Only fire could be seen in its eyes. Alan had barely managed to dodge the arm before he was bombarded with lightning all focused on him

He teleported many times, and also expertly manouevered around some as well.

It turned out flying as a Soara and a Phoenix was surprisingly similar. He was already getting good at it.

But he would have a hard time attacking, the fragment was literally giving him no time to respond at all, and Alan didn’t feel like getting up close and personal with his claws and beak.

He knew he should maintain some distance, with how the fragment was acting, getting close could be disastrous.

He didn’t want to be taken out of the fight so soon, but thankfully everybody else weren’t fooling around. Kazikato was already launching his second breath and had thousands of spears of bone raining down on the fragment. He could spot Alexander making his way to the ears of the fragment.

’He still hasn’t given up on that?’

Alexander was strangely fixated on blowing up Kizmal’s ears with his [Raijin], launching it straight into the canal hoping it would reach the brain. He had failed many times now.

But even if it failed to reach the brain, the strike did do incredible damage. Even if it almost always left him crippled afterwards.

Sabrina was casting a pretty large spell in the back by the looks of it, Abalak was assaulting the other eye and Olivia had already destroyed a heart, along with Edward.

Who, after destroying the first heart was rushing towards the second. He had discarded his shields, and instead opted for fists clad in golden fire.

It didn’t take long for a massive boom to take place, [Raijin] had been used, and took out a good chunk of the fragment. Alexander had survived with meager injuries this time, and was already moving to the other ear.

He was getting better at surviving his own attack... Nevertheless, Alan was finally given some respite due to it, so he began to cast spells of his own.

Five balls of crimson red fire appeared all around his body, each the size of a house. Alan didn’t know any fire related skills or spells, he was copying what he had seen Elijah and other awakened with an affinity to fire do.

Since he was a dragon, it was fairly simple, but using fire felt God awful... It was like he was drinking spoiled milk along with eating rotten meat.

Along with the five balls of fire, he was also preparing his imitation of Elijah’s fire breath in his mouth, which only intensified the feeling.

Kizmal laid eyes on him once more, and he let the fireballs loose, aimed at the face.

While they unleashed hell, he concentrated his breath, letting it build up as much as possible. He would let go only when he could not withstand it longer.

The battlefield was a blur, he had no idea what everyone else was doing. All he was doing was condensing as much mana as he could into this one breath.

The feeling of repulsion intensified with each passing second, it was like he was holding shit in his mouth. And when Alan felt ’empty’ and profoundly disgusted.

He let go of the breath. He opened his beak and said one simple thing in the mind connection set up by Sabrina.

[WATCH OUT.]

And then it was unleashed, first a single ball of flame that released a shrieking noise at the front of his beak, which expanded, then shrunk.

And then, unleashed with all the force and mana he could muster. It ripped the air apart and set the world asunder as all everyone could see was fire.

Blue, intense flames that held within them stars, Alan hadn’t meant to, but some of his Astral mana had slipped into the breath.

It was his first time doing a ’Super-Charged’ breath. Even he was unsure what was going to happen.

The breath was massive, a pillar of blue flame the size of Kizmal’s arm was unleashed from his small beak, littered with stars and intense heat.

It roared like a demon unleashed from the deepest realms of the abyss and hit the fragment of Kizmal right in the chest. The fire expanded and burned the giant’s skin.

It roared in pain and moved around in a panic, using it’s hands to extinguish the fire but it only spread it further.

The light was blinding, and it was intense. But at the final moment, where it seemed the flames would cover the entire giant... They compressed themselves.

The sea of fire shrunk into a small ball that glowed bright, like the sun itself and suddenly expanded.

In the center of the badly burnt giant, a miniature sun of blue fire formed and exploded, making the fragment of Kizmal fall onto it’s back, shrieking in pain and the lightning in the vicinity, finally free of the flames roared defiantly.

But right at the moment, another sea of fire, this one red and imbued with the power of the true names of Lasting, Spreading, and Fiery engulfed the fallen Titan.

[Couldn’t you have done that before?]

Sabrina asked through the astral bond, and Alan, feeling drained and tired responded.

[I... Didn’t even know I could do that.]

[... Fair enough.]
