Chapter 774: A world soon to fall.
Chapter 774: A world soon to fall.
"I want you to tell me everything, from the start, to the end."
Sabrina asked, as she approached the unconscious Alan. Alpha stood still behind her, her eyes darting to Victor’s breathing corpse. Beta approached it with caution.
"Tell me."
Sabrina ordered again, as she sat down, performing magic on Alan. Alpha knelt down and began to explain everything, from the start to the finish.
"... This world originally belonged to the Vampires of House Almada, Though we are the only ones that remain. We were the greatest of the Vampiric houses a few centuries ago... But it went to ruin because of Victor, and Mother’s own tendencies."
"How? And why are you the only ones that remain?" "... Victor killed everyone else as he went insane. The Vampire’s tried to protect Mother from Victor... or... It’s a bit complicated."
"..."
Sabrina gave her a long hard stare, and Alpha relented.
"... Mother had a strange hobby, she was obsessed with collecting information, all kinds of knowledge she could get... She was the greatest leader, if she didn’t have that quality. Her obsession may have placed her at the rank of one of the seventy-two, and us the strongest house of vampires... But it brought us all down. She gained an obsession to search about an era called the divine... We didn’t know where she got this information, about some forgotten age... But she was obsessed with it.
To satiate her curiosity, we launched an attack at all the houses of Knowledge, the Palace of Dwarves, the orcish kingdoms... All the strongholds of the species of the Alliance, even the Celestial realms, just for something about it. Those campaigns brought us glory, and thus we were content, but Mother was unsatisfied. She... lost it all and did the unthinkable. She confronted the dragons, and the god beasts, but they didn’t say anything.
Therefore... she launched an attack on Elvenheim, the sacred land of the elves. It was the greatest campaign the demons had ever done, something all the lords joined in on, besides the Supreme of the Abyss."
She took a deep breath, barely suppressing a tear.
"The strongest forces of the Abyss, launched an attack on Elvenheim... and didn’t even get past the border. We were unable to even put foot on Elven soil.... And this drew Mother mad, as she lost herself after all that... doing anything to get more power, or anything to satiate her desires.
Victor was a result of that, he was bred to be a weapon, and given the greatest we could offer. Mother... did some special things to him, and he lost his mind gradually, thus he destroyed what was left of House Almada, and Mother... We don’t know where she went. She simply left us with a message, that one day a successor will come that we will have to listen too, She basically ordered us to obey whatever you said, and said you would lead us to even greater heights."
Alpha’s body began to grow cold, she felt a chill rise up in her spine, and it felt as the temperature was starting to drop.
"She made all the arrangements... and left. We lost power eventually, and most of those that remained left us, afraid of Victor."
’... So cold.’
Alpha thought, as she continued explaining everything. Beta was to the side, previously, he was poking at Victor’s breathing corpse, but he froze as well. The temperature was dropping, evidence of her lady’s dropping mood. Nevertheless, she didn’t stop until Sabrina got the full picture.
"... So let me get this straight, a crazy bitch led everyone around her to doom to fulfill her own desires, and tortured her own son to achieve something? No wonder you all died. When you raise someone to be a weapon, you just guarantee them going against you. Fucking hell."
Alpha’s head touched the ground, as she couldn’t really deny anything at all. Everything was true, although she wished her new lady wouldn’t use such foul language. And she accurately figured out what she tried to hide with her eloquence.
Surprisingly, Alpha and Beta had no idea of her experience in the ’ritual’. To them, it was simply being reborn as a Royal Vampire... They were unaware of anything that happened inside, and just did as told. The loyalty was surprising.
’... Is it the meteors? Why is the world growing so cold?’
Alpha asked herself, as the shivers grew uncontrollable, nevertheless, her lady didn’t seem to care.
"So anyway, You didn’t mean for any of this to happen, am I right?"
"Yes, My lady... We were just ordered to obey."
Sabrina sighed, as she looked behind Alpha, and muttered.
"Well? I think they are rather innocent."
Alpha noticed her gaze, and turned around to see a towering figure, a man draped in a silk robe wearing the skull of a sheep like a mask.
"..."
He was quiet, as he passed through her body and reached Sabrina. Alpha froze, literally, as Azmakul... was in a not so pleasant mood.
"He’s alive, but he has no mana to speak of right now, and his reserves of aura have hit rock bottom as well."
Sabrina explained, looking down at Alan’s face on her lap. He wasn’t regenerating anymore, and that was the greatest concern she had. She had stopped his bleeding long ago with her magic, but his body was refusing any other sort of aid.
"It is nothing, the prince is just tired. He used more than he should have..."
Azmakul whispered.
"... You are awfully late."
"... That Almada was a divine like me. How a vulgar bat reached that stage is mysterious, but her skills with arrays and sorcery are undeniable. She was able to hide you all for long. What I don’t understand is why his highness... Never mind."
"What?"
He didn’t answer, and Sabrina didn’t pry further. She knew he was pissed, and she didn’t want to take any chances right now.
Azmakul placed his hand on Alan’s forehead, and she noticed a large amount of mana be given to Alan. His regeneration started again soon, and the paleness in his face disappeared.
Even his reserves of aura began to replenish, she heaved a sigh of relief as Azmakul turned around to observe the two vampiric twins.
"They are bound by powerful magic to you, even despite that, their loyalty to you is genuine. You can trust them."
He walked over towards Victor’s corpse, but didn’t comment on it. He remained silent, merely glancing at Alan.
Alpha and Beta remained frozen, bowing their heads as deep as they could. Sabrina didn’t pay them any attention, merely watched Alan regenerate at a visible pace.
"I have removed his recent memories, and cast a spell here to ensure your protection. I’ll be back... I’ve constructed a portal, as well, to the platform. Go when the prince recovers... I’ll dismantle the array on this planet and do some research on this...
Oh, and for this body, just throw it somewhere on Lanekia where it won’t rot. Alice could make use of it once she advances far enough in alchemy."
I’ve been asleep for far too long..."
He disappeared like that, vanishing into thin air as always. Sabrina sighed, clenching her fists as she told Alpha and Beta to relax. However, they remained as they were, barely letting out a noise.
Time passed, and Alan soon recovered, his arm had regenerated, and all the wounds that marred his body were gone. Sabrina grew annoyed by Alpha and Beta, who didn’t leave their kneeling position at all.
"Just go and search the room you found me in for my spatial rings... and get something to cover him."
She pointed at Alan, and took a look over herself as well. And Beta left immediately, but Alpha struggled for a moment, twirling her fingers like a little girl, and asked.
"My lady, I hope I do not intrude... But may I ask what your relation to that dragon is?"\
All it took for her to run and forget about her question was a hard stare from Sabrina, who sighed as she looked at herself and Alan.
Only a robe covered her body, and for Alan... She just had to focus on his face for now. She couldn’t bear going back like this, lest everyone would have different opinions as to what went on here.
’This is crazy...’
She should have never left Earth. She had been tempted into thinking it was just going to be the two of them on a vacation... but a lot of things completely unrelated happened to her.
This was so, so not what she had wanted, but she couldn’t complain. Alan didn’t expect this as well, probably, Who would have thought a damn necklace would lead to so much trouble.
"..."
Sabrina realized that it was missing now, her first gift from Alan, it was such a beautiful necklace as well... shame it only brought all these unnatural things.
She missed Earth, She wanted to go to a damn beach, She wanted to go for a swim, She wanted to eat cake, Alice was a good cook, but couldn’t compare to her own chefs. Though, the coffee she brewed was simply to die for.
"Haaaa..."
She heard a groan coming from below, and looked at Alan. His face was shaking and it appeared he was going to wake up soon.
