The Villain's Story

Chapter 812: Library.

Chapter 812: Library.

A vast library stretched out before her, filled to the brim with bookshelves filled with knowledge she couldn't even begin to fathom. A blood-red carpet decorated the floor, and a strange source of light permeated the entire area.

There was a single table in front of her, with a single wooden chair, and a single cup of tea. Beyond that was a mysterious fog she couldn't peer through, no matter what.

She approached the fog and reached out with her hand; however, it repelled her touch, and almost threw her away.

"Are you ok?"

Olivia asked from beside, helping her get up. Sabrina nodded and began to approach the chair in the middle.

This was her domain, the one she had recently acquired after becoming a... vampire. The entire ordeal was still confusing to her, but then again, being in this place made her feel calm.

The Endless Library, Almada's special domain, and now Sabrina's, who had gained that title. Most of the library and its features were still unavailable to her, partly because she couldn't really ascertain what they were.

The information of the library had flooded her the moment she entered, or activated, her domain. It was like Alan's, except she couldn't manifest it into reality like the Jade Palace.

It existed in a separate realm, and only here. She couldn't bring it out to the real world, no matter how much she tried, and she didn't really think it was endless, but she wasn't willing to explore and find out.

Not right now, at the very least. The entire domain was basically a catalog of all the pieces of information every 'Almada' had gathered, although she was still skeptical of the term 'Almada'.

She could bring others into her domain as well. Olivia and Alice were with her here at this moment; however, they couldn't interact with anything in here. Alice had been trying for ages to sit in it, but it would always turn to ash whenever she did, and reappear somewhere else near the table.

Only Sabrina could sit in it, and when she did, more information flooded her brain. This table was the center of the entire library, and she could ask it a question.

She didn't have to roam the entire library; once she expressed her desire for any kind of information, a blood-red screen would appear in front of her, with countless books she could summon about anything.

Her domain was unlike anything she had seen; it wasn't anything like Alan's, Ezra's, or the sword saints. All of them had unique combat capabilities... but she couldn't do anything.

It was just a catalog. However, to her, it was invaluable, even though she had to learn about it more. She wasn't interested in having a domain that could overpower another individual; she didn't want one that could endlessly trap one in a world of mirrors or one that was a fortress with its own army.

"How did you even unlock this? Isn't this one of the hardest things to do?"

Olivia asked, approaching a bookshelf, but as always, her hand just phased through it. Sabrina nodded. Getting a domain wasn't easy. According to the Elves, it was the special trait of her species. Humanity's special power, which was basically early access to something Legendary beings could do.

It was unknown how Ezra got his domain, and according to Alan, he had to roam through a dark swamp of crystals where he had to fight a giant crystal serpent at the center of it. Sword Saint Arken's domain had flourished after decades of battle and regret.

She had to fight an older version of her that was unlike anything she expected; she had to lose and have her body be ripped apart and reformed through drinking a single drop of blood.

Each one had a story behind it, and she did suspect Alan hadn't told her everything about his own, but she didn't mind it much.

"It just happened, I guess."

She had already explained the entire story to these two, but they always looked at her with a slight smile and narrowed eyes. It was so irritating that these two didn't believe her, worse, she couldn't even enter the damn portal to the supposed Realm of Shadows.

It had disappeared after Alan and everybody else had entered. According to Azmakul, it was because the ruler there didn't want any more visitors.

She was stuck with these two, who were constantly prying as to what had happened with Alan and her, and no matter how much she denied it... No one was listening. She had to deal with their jokes.

Paying them no mind, Sabrina focused on the catalog and noticed something had changed.

[Domains.]

[Realm of Shadows.]

[How to deal with annoying friends.]

"..."

Three options had appeared, and when she thought more intently on one, she received a collection of books about them. There were many for domains, only a few lines for the Realm of Shadows, and a few about how to deal with annoying friends.

She was interested in the second one, but it didn't have much to offer.

[The most secretive realm in the entire universe, a special realm created by Ariel to house all those that died, the Warden of the Forgotten rules the realm of Shadows, and remembers every death. Anyone who has entered the realm of Shadows does so dead, and those who enter alive never reveal anything about it.

It isn't very pleasant. I can't get anything about it...]

'...'

"So this is where everyone went?"

Alice chimed in from the side; her friends could also see the text that formed in front of her, although the catalog was invisible to them.

"Hey, hey, what else does it say?"

"Nothing else, this is all there is about the Realm of Shadows."

"Huh, kinda useless?"

She ignored the remark as an idea popped into her mind.

'Information about everything... hmm.'

She always had one question whenever Azmakul was busy rambling during their lessons... but the old dragon would never answer her, leaving her curiosity to grow unbothered.

But what if the answer was here?

Sabrina took a deep breath as she thought about it, and to her happiness, an option did appear in the catalog.

[The strongest beings to ever exist.]
