The Villain's Story

Chapter 889: Designed to Survive.

Chapter 889: Designed to Survive.

"You were designed for survival."

Those words lingered in Alan's mind for a while, making him think deeply about the core of his existence. It made sense, a lot of sense.

From obtaining the Phoenix bloodline, the gradual awakening of his God Beast features, to the lineage of Death. And this wasn't even mentioning the countless measures James had taken to deal with the soul and mind.

Strictly speaking, Alan Peccator was designed to be unkillable. Of course, actually doing something like that is impossible before the mythical level, but James came close.

Alan was still capable of dying, really dying. However, to actually kill him required monumental effort.

Before reaching the level of Mythic, A being was able to kill Alan Peccator, but it was a task even those who had stepped through the door of transcendence would find difficult.

Not only would they be dealing with the only being capable of using Aura, Mana, and Aether, they would be dealing with someone that was a perfect mix of the three species, literally designed for those three energies. Even if Alan hadn't tapped into Aether and Aura a lot... it was a monumental task.

You would have to deal with an endless bombardment of magic, a physical being nearly unbreakable, and a soul that could not be harmed in most cases. And even if you managed to harm the soul, you would have to deal with Aranus, the Beasts within Alan's Soul Sea, James, and finally, Dominatus.

This didn't even mention the numerous spells that Lanesha, Kulak, Valus, Suleras, and Ariel placed on his soul.

His soul was the most impenetrable fortress that ever existed. Even A Supreme Being wouldn't approach carelessly.

Although one didn't need to go to the soul to 'kill' Alan as long as he was under the level of Mythic, doing so was still close to impossible.

The core of Alan's 'life' was his Dragon Heart and his Winter Heart. To get to those, you had to bypass the strongest physical body that existed underneath the epic realm, one that was almost on par with it and would only grow in toughness if Alan transcended.

This 'body' also had the most powerful healing factor that there was, one that was instantaneous as long as Aura was there to fuel it, even with mana, this regeneration was incredibly potent.

And suppose one being actually was capable of doing this, bypassing the bombardment of magic spells numbering in the thousands, a body of a God Beast, and successfully destroying Alan's heart, what would be the point?

That was merely dealing with the Bloodline of Life, of Liorathen, the Phoenix. There was still the Legacy of Death to deal with. Once Alan passed the trials and was bestowed the Palanquin of Death, he would be able to resurrect and would also be granted resistance against 'True Death'.

"Don't underestimate the universe, kid. Even with all that, you can still be killed."

Just as he was growing confident, Valus put an end to it. Alan's smile vanished as Valus said.

"All those gifts were to prepare you for the beings in this universe, even some at your own level. There are a lot of special folks in this universe, you're just one of them."

"Really?"

That caught him off guard, even with all his 'gifts', Alan thought it would take a transcended being to take him down, someone that was Epic, or Legendary, but even those at his own level?

He had a hard time believing it, but didn't question it. Valus was right, to a certain extent. He wasn't Aranus. Even with all this, he couldn't be compared to Aranus.

Only he had the right to believe he couldn't be killed no matter what. It wasn't Lapsus that made it so, but Aranus. There would always be an insurmountable wall between him and Aranus.

Valus noticed his concerns, or rather, read his mind, but he didn't say anything. Alan was having the right line of thought. He waited until the boy came to terms with it and continued.

"Next, you should find an opportunity to enter the Abyss as soon as possible."

"What? Why?"

Taken aback, Alan questioned it. Now aware that he would eventually have to go to the Abyss to revive House Chatan, he didn't think it should be 'soon'.

Shouldn't it wait until he was like, Mythic at the very least? At the level where he would actually be unkillable? Or when he had control of Dominatus? Shouldn't it wait until he was at an acceptable level of strength?

He had spent his entire life wary of the Chaos Element, so he was afraid of the Abyss, more so of the Abyssal conscience.

Valus quelled his worries.

"It isn't as scary as you think. Besides, you have an obligation to understand the realm that is the Abyss. It's something that is bound to happen. You can't avoid the Abyss...

"Because of House Chatan?"

"Partially, but also because of the House of Death. Both houses are deeply connected to the Abyss, and there's also the fact that you have demon blood. Although a meager amount, some of your existence is still demonic. Enough for you to have Demonic Decadence, furthermore, once you consume the drop of Ichor, you'll basically be Demonic Royalty.

At the top, too, only Lucifer would be above you, and barely at that. That drop of Ichor doesn't belong to Suleras like you think, but rather Lady Tiamat."

'Ah...'

Now he figured out why he was so scared of it, and why it would elevate his status to the second-highest form of demon royalty. The drop of Ichor that sent shivers down his spine belonged to the being that the Abyss was made to imprison.

Upon learning it, Alan gulped. As Valus saw this, he couldn't help but chuckle, as he terrified the boy more.

"You think you're safe from the Abyss? You thought you could run away from it? Don't worry, even if the sequence of events doesn't lead to it, I'll grab you by the neck and throw you down that hellhole myself.

No matter what."

His mouth agape, Alan raised one finger to protest and weakly asked.

"...Why?"

Valus calmly explained.

"Because it's the only place The Creator can't see."
