Chapter 939: Siege of Terra Damnum(2).

‘It’s the same as before…’

Alan recoiled in disgust. The spikes and rugged scales on his body caught pieces of sludge, which were quickly expelled with the help of a few spells. The disgusting sea of Terra Damnum was the same as ever.

Perhaps it had grown even more vile since his last visit. The air was stale, the ground was lifeless, and the sea was polluted beyond repair.

It hurt to breathe in this foul water. It was uncomfortable to even swim in it, but at the same time.

It was peaceful, for a certain part of Alan Peccator was reacting to the sea, not the dirt and sludge within it, not the disgusting part of it… but rather the chaotic part of it.

Chaos Mana was abundant within the sea, and every drop of it was calling out to him; it was speaking to him. It was like a thousand eyes were all focused on him, all desired him. Alan sighed in his dragon form, releasing an abundant amount of frost mana into the sea, causing the temperature to drop around him.

In the end, James was unable to change the true nature of Aranus’s body, the perfection it held for chaos, and now, since Alan wasn’t actively stopping himself from the usage of the accursed affinity, every moment was like bliss and an eternal torment.

He could absorb all of this, he could govern it all, and no one could steal it from him. But he held himself back, opting to release an abundant amount of mana in the sea to drive the chaos away. He couldn’t do it now; he still had some… inhibitions.

Furthermore, doing it right now would cast everyone’s gaze on him. Alan wanted to hide his Chaos affinity as long as possible; it was a trump card and the last resort.

Alan silently continued swimming towards the Barrier surrounding Terra Damnum, leading all of the underwater vessels at the forefront. The closer he got to the accursed barrier, the more disgusted he became. He was suffering the most out of the three dragons in this voyage…

They just had to fly in the sky, but he was bound to sea by orders. The disgusting sea eventually became too much for him to handle, and Alan went up. His head left the surface of the chaotic sea, and he took in a deep breath, casting multiple cleaning spells on himself.

Even though the air was bad, it wasn’t as bad as the sea. Unfortunately, his actions confused the underwater vessels; luckily, it didn’t lead to any

“What? Can’t handle a little swim?”

Sword Saint Arken remarked with a smile on his face standing at the front of the warship in the very front. One of the modern aircraft carriers, sporting cannons as big as Alan’s entire body. Sir Oliver stood next to him and pressed the communicator to his ear, informing the commanders of the reason behind Alan’s emergence

Alan, still in his dragon form, put out his tongue and hissed at the Sword Saint, who laughed it off. Alan wanted to invite him to swim in the disgusting waters, but he knew the Sword Saint would accept in a heartbeat.

The sea was ‘extremely’ disgusting to him simply because of his race; to the others, it was just slightly bad.

Oliver remained quiet, gazing at the distant horizon. The continent would enter his sight soon enough, and so would the army of demonic beasts protecting it. Alan transformed back into his human form and landed on the deck. Someone handed him a bucket, which he promptly vomited into.

Richard patted his back as he did so, and after Alan had collected himself, he stared at the old duo, both their eyes fixed on the dark horizon ahead.

It was his first time seeing both of them, or more accurately, Sword Saint Arken, so… serious. Sir Oliver was always serious, but Arken had a more aloof attitude most of the time. Seeing both of them dressed in military attire and focused took him by surprise.

Well, considering their history and how those two were basically the pillars for humanity, it was understandable. They had to put on a front on this occasion; after all, they were besieging the heart of demonic territory on Earth, Terra Damnum.

When Alan received the news about the mission, he was ordered to just stay… put. Indeed, Alan, Elijah, and Kazikato were simply called in to observe, or rather, act as a sort of symbol.

The Dragon of Fire and The Dragon of Shadows and Death, as well as The Dragon of White underneath the sea, were merely there to show their presence. They had no real duty in the mission; all of it was to be handled by pure humans.

In short, it was a sort of trip… somewhat.

Alan silently stared at the two of them before he received the order to go back down from central command. They were approaching the Barrier that surrounded Terra Damnum, and the demonic beasts were coming to them.

He dived back into the ocean, transforming into a Dragon, and led the underwater fleet once again, but in the end, Alan didn’t do anything.

Tens of thousands of mutated fish, ones corrupted by chaos energy and demonic influences. They were a sight to behold. The smallest was the size of a young human child, and the biggest even surpassed Alan. They had disgusting appearances.

Parts of their guts and internal organs were out for everyone to see, lined with sharp teeth and claws; their faces were a mix of many features of many types of fish, some even possessed three heads and a multitude of tentacles. Each and every one of them was a monster devoid of intellect, commanded by the demons on Terra Damnum.

But that was simply the assault from the sea. Hundreds of thousands of demonic beasts appeared from the skies, blotting out the sky, hiding the moon and its light from sight.

The biggest of them wasn’t close to the biggest under the water, but their numbers were easily ten times more. Flanking the Mothership, Elijah and Kazikato stirred, but ultimately, they were told to stay put.

It was the same for the sea; Alan was ordered to stay still, as the various underwater vessels behind him turned and took action.

Not a single awakened present on the fleet was ordered to help. If the three dragons and the various awakened joined forces, they would defeat this threat easily, especially since the Battle mage, Oliver, and the Sword Saint, Arken, were on their side… but in the end.

This was the stage for the new human weaponry.
