Chapter 1065: Young Master Baydor
Chapter 1065: Young Master Baydor
Considering Vaan did not want to linger in the area to be an object of attention, he hurriedly followed the glowing jellyfish marker and reached his cultivation chamber.
The entrance was sealed shut by an ordinary-looking yet unordinary stone boulder, and next to it was a crystal tablet with a card socket. Evidently, the card socket on the crystal tablet was used to open the cultivation chamber.
Since the cultivation chamber was reserved under his name, only his ID card could be used to open its sealed entrance.
After Vaan swiped the crystal screen with his ID card, the round boulder blocking the entrance rumbled as it shifted leftward.
Another crystal tablet was visible inside the cultivation chamber, not far from the entrance. It was undoubtedly used to open and close the entrance from the inside.
After swiping the second crystal tablet to close the entrance, Vaan immediately pulled out the rulebook and studied it in earnest.
Considering the thickness of the rulebook, Vaan didn’t doubt he had a lot to learn about. He didn’t want to interact with other disciples of the Myriad Sea God Palace until he had familiarised himself with its rules.
After all, if he didn’t understand the rules, he wouldn’t be able to play around them and would more likely suffer losses instead.
The three main Don’ts were quite obvious—Don’t betray the Myriad Sea God Palace, don’t kill fellow Disciples, and don’t initiate private duels.
All duels between disciples within the Myriad Sea God Palace were required to be approved and overseen by at least one or more Elders.
Vaan found out that there were a lot of grey areas to exploit.
For example, as long as he didn’t kill his fellow disciples in an official duel, anything else was allowed. He could inflict servers injuries, torture, or even cripple his opponent without incurring any penalties.
After all, disciples wouldn’t be able to improve in duels if they were forced to hold back too much.
That said, an official duel could only be approved when both parties agreed to it. As such, Vaan still had the right to refuse official duels at the expense of his reputation.
Of course, Vaan also had to consider the possibility that not everyone would follow the rules.
For example, disciples wouldn’t be punished for breaking the rules if they weren’t caught breaking them, or it couldn’t be proven that they broke them. Other examples also included framing, coercion, and interference.
There were plenty of ways to ruin or obstruct a person’s cultivation progress.
’It seems I need to prepare some means of defense against those things...’ Vaan contemplated.
...
...
...
Outside of Vaan’s cultivation chamber, the Coralhaven Territory soon buzzed with gossip as rumors made their way over from the registration region.
"Hey, have you heard? A new Noble Being has joined the Outer Palace this year. I bet you won’t be able to guess the person’s lineage."
"Could it be another Great White Shark Fish-man? Their race has the most Noble Beings."
"Didn’t I say you wouldn’t be able to guess? Why would you still say the most obvious answer? C’mon, man. Make a better guest. Something uncommon or something you wouldn’t normally believe would produce a Noble Being." R̃ᴀΝŐ𝔟ÊꞨ
"Just lay it to me straight, Brother Sharlak. I’m not much of a thinker. You said it yourself—I wouldn’t be able to guess it, so why should I bother trying?"
"Tch! How boring. I just wanted to see what kind of interesting guess you could come up with. Anyway, supposedly, the new Noble Being possesses a pure human appearance."
"Pure human appearance? That can’t be... None of the Great Houses are of pure human descent. Where could this pure human Noble Being have hailed from?"
"That’s something everyone is most curious about. A pure human Noble Being has never appeared in the Myriad Sea God Palace before. Do you know what this entails?"
"A major upheaval is coming..."
It was said that the Lord of the Boundless Seas and Skies was a pure human. As such, Noble Beings with human bloodlines were regarded as his descendants, and those with purer human bloodlines possessed greater statuses.
However, none had ever possessed a complete human appearance. How pure did one’s human bloodline have to be to inherit a pure human appearance?
If it was in the past, all forces under the Myriad Sea God Palace would have welcomed this new Noble Being.
Unfortunately, the Great Houses backing the currently known Noble Beings had solidified their positions and wielded great power in the Myriad Sea God Palace.
Moreover, they had been pushing campaigns to enthrone their Noble Beings as the true descendants of the Lord of the Boundless Seas and Skies so that they could wrestle even more power and authority in the Myriad Sea God Palace.
As such, the Great Houses were unlikely to view the new appearance of a pure human Noble Being kindly.
...
...
...
As news of pure human Noble Being entering the Myriad Sea God Palace continued to spread throughout the Outer Palace, words of it also reached Azure Skysea Star Realm’s Heavenpick Territory.
Like the Blueriver Star Realm’s Coralhaven Territory, the Azure Skysea Star Realm’s Heavenpick Territory was also a dwelling-type world designated for Outer Palace disciples.
However, unlike Coralhaven Territory, which was designed to accommodate junior disciples, Heavenpick Territory was made for the elite disciples.
Naturally, all the Noble Beings in the Outer Palace would choose to reside in Heavenpick Territory.
After all, it wasn’t simply a world designated for disciples of higher status; it also provided superior cultivation benefits compared to Coralhaven Territory due to the higher quality and density of mana.
At this moment, a Great White Shark Fishman donning a luxurious gold-and-silver-scaled robe was flaunting to peers the fruits of his magical plant cultivation in a sea garden on his seamounts.
"Oh, my Dynamene... Is that a Sea Dragon Bloodfruit? I heard this thing only grows in seabeds that have been nourished by dragon blood for at least ten thousand years."
"Right? I heard those places are also called Dragon’s Graveyard. Sea Dragon Bloodfruits are very difficult to cultivate outside of their special environments. How did you manage to achieve this, Young Master Baydor?"
Hearing the comments and questions filled with fawn and awe, the Great White Shark Fish-man called Young Master Baydor felt proud and smug in front of his peers.
"That’s a secret, Young Lady Mirella. However, if you really want to know, we could try discussing this more privately inside my cultivation chamber," Young Master Baydor eyed the Whale Shark Fish-woman meaningfully. His intention was quite clear to everyone.
As such, Young Lady Mirella’s original curious expression became grim and sullen.
"Please have some self-respect, Young Master Baydor. I already have a cultivation partner," Young Lady Mirella stated with a mixture of anger and disbelief.
She had heard the rumors of Young Master Baydor’s debauched lifestyle. However, she didn’t expect that he would also be interested in fish-women who already had cultivation partners.
Moreover, her cultivation partner was right next to her! Naturally, his expression did not look good either.
"What are you trying to say, Young Lady Mirella? Why bring up whether you have a cultivation partner or not? Do you think we can negotiate in the open if I am willing to sell the secret to you?" Young Master Baydor feigned innocence with a frown.
"You...!"
Young Lady Mirella was even more incensed, but her Tiger Shark Fish-man partner held her back.
’Don’t, Mirella. He is a Noble Being. It’s not worth it,’ the Tiger Shark Fish-man transmitted his thought to her.
