Chapter 1067: Depth of Technology
Chapter 1067: Depth of Technology
Within a certain cultivation chamber in Coralheaven Territory, Vaan continued to familiarize himself with everything the Myriad Sea God Palace provided and prohibited.
After he finished reading the general rulebook, he turned his attention to the cultivation chamber itself. Just by sensing the influx of pure mana pouring into the seamount cave, he could tell where the benefits of the cultivation chamber lie.
Due to the various special laws and gravitational pressure acting on the world, it was very difficult for ordinary beings to absorb pure mana from seawater directly despite its overwhelming abundance.
'Interesting… This must be the biggest benefit of a cultivation chamber… Not only is there an in-built mana gather formation, but there are also filtration formations to extract only the pure mana, allowing for smooth absorption…' Vaan determined.
Although the amount wasn't as much as Vaan had hoped, the supply was consistent and unending. To most ordinary Outer Palace disciples, this was already the best privilege they could ask for.
After all, everyone who could become disciples of the Myriad Sea God Palace was at least a Rank 6 Divine Being. Lifespan was not an issue to them. As such, as long as they could continue to use the cultivation chamber, they could grow safely.
Unfortunately, the cultivation chambers only came with a free trial period for newly registered disciples; usage beyond its trial period required regular payments.
'That said, that's not all a cultivation chamber offers…'
Vaan turned his attention to a transparent, square, crystal-like screen located right outside the central chamber space. Once he touched it, he found out it was a type of interactive control panel.
[Gravity Adjustment]
[Elemental Change]
[Illusionscape]
[Status Ailment Time Challenge]
Four options appeared when Vaan activated the crystal screen with a touch.
Gravity Adjustment allowed him to alter the chamber's gravity from 0.2x to 2.0x. While 2.0x gravity didn't seem like a lot, it was still 2.0x of the current world's gravity. Such gravitational pressure wasn't something anyone in Pangea could withstand.
On the other hand, Elemental Change could simulate special environments of the five elements: fire, water, lightning, earth, and wind.
'These elemental environments don't seem to help with law comprehension, but they do provide some benefits in gaining experience and building resistance against such elements…' Vaan figured.
The Illusionscape appeared to be the most complex but also the simplest function the cultivation chamber offered. It could simulate various scenery to set and adjust the mood.
However, its main function was to create illusions and mazes to entrap the users.
'I see… This type of entrapment function is like a puzzle-solving game used to train a person's ability to break or unravel entrapment,' Vaan comprehended.
It was quite interesting.
Meanwhile, the last function, Status Ailment Time Challenge, seemed far from interesting. It was torturous and dangerous.
The function involved flooding the chamber with curses or poison to help the user build resistance by enduring them over time.
Furthermore, while the type of cure and remedy for each status ailment time challenge was listed, it didn't provide them.
Vaan reckoned it was an unpopular function among the ordinary disciples.
After all, it was a function that only offered pain and suffering while burning money for limited benefits. Few disciples would be willing to endure such expensive cultivation.
Nevertheless, Vaan was impressed by the cultivation chamber's multi-layered functions.
'As expected of a great power that had existed for countless eons. Even the most ordinary cultivation chambers possess such advanced technology,' Vaan mused. Rаℕô฿ĚⱾ
Who would have thought that a Junior Disciple-level cultivation chamber would contain dozens, if not hundreds, of formations and arrays?
Moreover, the runic lines and circuits of these formations and arrays seemed to be recorded in the laws themselves, hiding them from plain sight.
In other words, even if the cultivation chamber were damaged or destroyed, it wouldn't necessarily affect the various functions installed.
Vaan even suspected there was a hidden self-repair function to restore the state of the cultivation chamber in the event of such cases.
'If the cultivation chambers of Junior Disciples are already this impressive, then the Elite Disciples' cultivation chambers must be even more impressive. Moreover, this is only for cultivation chambers…'
'There must be better and more special cultivation places besides cultivation chambers,' Vaan thought.
In fact, he had briefly read about the special cultivation realms.
The Myriad Sea God Palace possessed many special cultivation realms with high concentrations of law power, which made them suitable for musing to enhance one's understanding of the laws.
However, such marvelous places presented great dangers as much as they offered opportunities.
Even Divine Lords could be killed in such places.
'When I get the chance, I should seek out these special cultivation realms. For now, I should prioritize the acquisition of cultivation resources,' Vaan decided.
No matter how strongly he wished to visit the special cultivation realms, he wasn't foolish enough to think he could survive when even Divine Lords easily fell in such places.
He was no longer the overlord of the world. As such, he couldn't be arrogant.
'According to the rulebook, the most popular cultivation resource among Divine Beings is Divine Water. Divine Water can be acquired from trade fairs or the Grand Exchange Hall…' Vaan recalled.
The Grand Unity Realm was the closest and largest trade fair in the Outer Palace. Although it didn't offer the fairest price, there was the freedom of negotiation and haggling.
After all, all transactions were conducted by Outer Palace disciples, and Contribution Points weren't the only accepted form of currency there.
On the other hand, the Grand Exchange Hall only accepted Contribution Points, but it offered the fairest prices for its goods.
'Private trades between disciples also exist but they don't have any regulations by the authorities. Blackmail and extortion by coercion are common practices, making this option the least popular of choices…'
Vaan briefly contemplated before deciding to visit the Grand Exchange Hall first.
Although the Grand Exchange Hall didn't necessarily possess everything and only accepted Contribution Points, it did offer the fairest price.
Vaan would be foolish not to use it to gauge the value of various items.
