Chapter 1142: Arriving at the Soul Master Hall
Chapter 1142: Arriving at the Soul Master Hall
With the power of thought and sufficient soul power, Soul Masters could create virtually anything.
Whether it was modifying innate talent, crafting abilities, inventing spells, rewriting laws, creating resources, or even nurturing new lifeforms—They were all within the realm of possibility.
The power of thought was an absolutely terrifying ability.
As long as Soul Masters could imagine it, they could transform any thought into reality. With such heaven-defying means, even extinct objects and species could be brought back.
Naturally, the more complex and higher-level an idea was, the more soul power and time it would consume to realize. For example, a True Divinity-level material could take anywhere between thousands to millions of years of persistent effort to produce.
In other words, the best creations would take an incredible amount of time and tireless effort.
However, to the Soul Masters of Chaos who have reached the divine level, they could lack anything but time. All beings born from Chaos possessed infinite lifespans upon becoming Divine Beings.
This was also the greatest difference between Vaan and other Soul Masters.
Being born from an original universe, his lifespan was finite until he ascended to True Divinity and became a True God.
However, unlike other Soul Masters, he also had two incredible advantages: He could freely access the Astral Soul Realm, and he possessed an incredibly powerful original soul.
With just these two advantages, he could greatly accelerate the time it would take other Soul Masters to materialize the same idea.
After all, compared to Soul Masters without access to the Astral Soul Realm, their soul power was limited and slow to recover. As a result, their creations experience too many delays, prolonging their completion.
Fortunately, Vaan didn’t have this problem.
Even so, he didn’t intend to engage in any large projects in the near future. Small investments in areas that mattered were more valuable in the long term.
Moreover, he was currently loaded with contribution points, and he was even waiting for more rewards from the Merit Hall. If he lacked any resources, he just needed to spend his wealth.
’I hope the Soul Master Hall’s accumulation of knowledge is useful,’ Vaan mused.
Shortly after dumping the two mana stones into his Heaven-Swallowing Space, Vaan adjusted his mental state, then left the sound chamber. He had practiced enough and achieved his aim.
It was time to enter the Soul Master Hall.
Although Vaan decided this, he was quickly approached by a smiling Overseer Azuresound, the one who raised his VIP status in the Grand Hall of Sound and lent him his private sound chamber.
"By the grace of Varuna, I tell your talent in the sound arts is unmatched, Lord Vaan. It’s a blessing for all to be in the audience of your play. My body and soul tremble with joy at every note!" ṘÁ₦𝘰฿Ɛ𝘴
"The moment I heard your flute play, I immediately knew that your sound arts have already reached a profound and unfathomable level, which even I have yet to attain."
"May I ask how long you have been studying the sound arts, Lord Vaan?" Overseer Azuresound inquired after his hearty praises.
Vaan paused for a moment before replying somewhat uncertainly, "It should be about three days, right?"
Considering there was no concept of time in the Astral Soul Realm, even if he had his own clock, he couldn’t be absolutely certain of how much time he had spent there.
After all, he still wasn’t sure if his feelings regarding the time difference between the Astral Soul Realm and reality were due to time dilation or if it was due to a change in the perception of the realm’s nonexistent time.
As such, he could only respond with the time he spent in reality.
"T-Three days...!?"
Overseer Azuresound staggered backwards in shock.
Although he had expected this answer, hearing it from Vaan still left him in incredible shock. This speed of learning and attainment was truly out of this world. Making comparisons would only leave oneself in despair and doubt.
Overseer Azuresound began to question himself whether he had lived his life in vain.
He had spent several tens of millions of years studying sound arts, yet he had not been able to produce a song comparable to Vaan’s flute song. In fact, he wasn’t sure if he could ever attain such a level in his life.
’No, I need to stop thinking about this!’ Overseer Azuresound mentally cried out in alarm, sensing that his Sacred Will would collapse if he continued to dwell in this matter.
Ironically, Vaan could strengthen people’s Sacred Will and weaken them at the same time.
If Overseer Azuresound wanted peace, he should never compare himself with Vaan. Comparison was a poison and the death of joy.
"Sigh. Lord Vaan’s talent is truly enviable," Overseer Azuresound sighed sentimentally.
"You achieve what others take entire lifetimes to reach and even surpass them in a matter of days. True Sages are truly blessed and born for the Great Way. You will definitely walk far in your path."
"I wonder if Lord Vaan can spare some time to impart your profound knowledge of sound arts and give everyone an opportunity to learn from you?"
"Sure, I can do that. But not now. I intend to check out the Soul Master Hall right now," Vaan calmly stated.
Overseer Azuresound’s eyes immediately shimmered thoughtfully.
’I didn’t expect Lord Vaan also to be interested in Soul Master Cultivation. However, it makes perfect sense. If he is so talented that he could become such a young True Sage, he would most likely have Soul Master qualities or destiny,’ Overseer Azuresound silently realized.
Shortly after, his smiled widened, becoming more approachable, respectful, and friendly.
"Of course, we can arrange a date for your public lecture, whenever it is convenient for you, Lord Vaan. The fact that you are even willing to conduct one and impart your knowledge is a great blessing for all of us seeking the way in the sound arts," Overseer Azuresound said.
After a short discussion, they easily set the date of the lecture for a month later, giving Vaan ample time to explore the Soul Master Hall without feeling rushed.
At the same time, Overseer Azuresound would also have ample time to inform all the disciples of the Grand Hall of Sound and prepare a large enough lecture theater for everyone to attend.
Undoubtedly, it would become the largest lecture theater in the Grand Hall of Sound’s history.
After all, given Lord Vaan’s explosive popularity, the disciples willing to attend the lecture wouldn’t be limited to the Grand Hall of Sound disciples. Even disciples of other disciplines would take sudden interest in sound arts and join.
It had been proven time and again that anywhere visited by Lord Vaan, the surrounding disciples would inevitably benefit from him.
It was as if Lord Vaan were the incarnation of heaven itself, carrying all of Chaos’s fortune; anyone following in his footsteps would catch traces of the blessings he left behind.
"Take care, Lord Vaan. I hope your stay at the Soul Master Hall will be just as fruitful, if not more."
"I hope so too. See you around, Sir Azuresound."
After Overseer Azuresound personally escorted Vaan out of the Grand Hall of Sound, True God Galevyr brought him directly to the vicinity of the Core Palace’s Soul Master Hall branch in the blink of an eye.
No matter how many times Vaan had experienced it, a True God’s speed was truly incredible.
Without needing to rely on Water Rifts, True Gods could directly cut through the void, leaping from one point in space to another, easily saving countless light-years of travel.
In fact, most Water Law-based Sea Gods have comprehended the secrets of Water Rifts, capable of forging new temporary Water Rifts to connect other existing ones, ultimately allowing themselves free travel throughout the boundless sea domain.
If they weren’t at least this capable, how could they ever hope of visiting another Sector, let alone Chaosverse, or even all of Chaos?
"Is this the Soul Master Hall?" Vaan uttered, mildly astonished by the sight before him after the momentary blur of void travel cleared up.
However, he wasn’t surprised because the Soul Master Hall before him was impressive. In fact, it was the complete opposite. Other halls, like the Grand Hall of Sound, covered vast territories and spanned numerous realms.
On the other hand, the Soul Master Hall before Vaan was no bigger than ten standard Pangean Cities, not even large enough to monopolize an entire realm, let alone multiple realms.
Even the current size of his Heaven-Swallowing Space was larger than this. If he wanted to, he could probably gobble up the entire Soul Master Hall in an instant.
’It seems my expectations of the Myriad Sea God Palace’s Soul Master Hall were still too high,’ Vaan silently thought.
Naturally, he was aware that the size of a hall was dependant on the number of disciples enrolled in it. As such, he had already set his expectations to the lowest, knowing the rarity of Soul Masters.
However, it seemed he had still underestimated the scarcity of Soul Masters.
’The old me initially intended to seek a teacher to embark on Soul Master Cultivation. But now, looking at the state of this Soul Master Hall and my current accomplishment, I fear the others here would be begging me to be their teacher instead,’ Vaan mused wryly.
Meanwhile, True God Galevyr noticed Vaan’s look and said, "Soul Master is already a very rare profession due to its strict demands. If one does not have the gift, one cannot embark on Soul Master Cultivation at all."
"However, this alone would not make our Soul Masters seem so scarce. The truth is that our Myriad Sea God Palace’s Soul Master heritage is rather incomplete and poor."
"As such, any accomplished Soul Master nurtured here would generally leave to seek out the Soul Master Association to further their progress," True God Galevyr explained with a look of helplessness.
The Myriad Sea God Palace greatly depended on Soul Masters for producing some of the rarest resources in the world—things that even True Divinities couldn’t make with their power of creation.
Unfortunately, they had no way of stopping their Soul Masters from leaving.
Soul Masters held too great a status throughout Chaos, and if the Soul Master Association were offended, it would only take a single high-level Soul Master from headquarters to level the entire Myriad Sea God Palace.
High-level Soul Masters were simply that much more powerful than Empyrean-level True Divinities.
Even a hundred Empyrean-level True Divinities were not necessarily the opponents of a single Empyrean-level Soul Master.
