Chapter 1187: Refining the Rebirth Elixir, Meeting Astoria

Chapter 1187: Refining the Rebirth Elixir, Meeting Astoria

The planet gathered the collective karma of all lifeforms to form its own;its rise and fall depended on the overall fate and fortune of its people. It was mutually beneficial and mutually destructive.

If the planet’s overall karma, fate, and fortune were positive, it would experience positive growth and development, warding off potential disasters and calamities. Even individuals with bad karma, fate, or fortune would be protected to a certain degree.

However, if the planet’s overall karma, fate, and fortune were negative, the planet risked extinction-level events.

When Vaan realized the new life planet wielded the power of causality and felt establishing a binding connection with him, he immediately cut himself off from the collective network with the power of thought.

Since he was fated to die a type of death that even the Lord of Chaos might not be able to change, the level of danger involved was to be expected. Tying his fate with the planet would only drag it and everyone else down with him.

This was obviously something he did not wish.

Vaan wished that even if he perished, everyone else could continue to live on and have something to remember him by, something that proved he had existed, and something that could ease everyone’s loneliness even when he was gone.

Although Vaan couldn’t predict how the future would truly unfold, he had to prepare for the worse as fate had decreed.

"Not bad. You have finally ascended to the Divine King level during this period," Vaan commented after glancing at Valefor.

Valefor immediately raised an eyebrow and scoffed, "What? You want to spar and receive a beating now?"

"No need, I’m still stronger," Vaan coolly stated.

With a wave of his hand, the Profound Pearl of Life flew out of Valefor’s possession, entering his hand, while the latter flew back into a magic portal, returning to whence he came, amidst his curses.

"I’ll be borrowing this," Vaan stated before Valefor disappeared to the other side of the magic portal.

Shortly after, Vaan informed his women of his temporary return via AI Pangea’s networking. Everyone received a message on their electronic devices. When they read the message, everyone wanted nothing more than to drop everything and go to him.

However, they were asked to refrain from doing this, and he would seek them out when he had time. He also informed everyone about Pangea’s transformation to address potential concerns about the sudden energy disappearance event.

Shortly after these messages were sent, Vaan entered the void, choosing its location for his elixir refinement.

Although Vaan seldom engaged in such practices, he figured that refining a Rank 9 Rebirth Elixir would pose no challenge with his current capabilities.

Having read through thousands of Mana Cultivation Techniques and countless more on magic theories and applications, as well as related knowledge in Potioneering and Alchemy, his theoretical foundation was incredibly firm.

Nevertheless, higher-level Potioneering required more depth of magic than practical Potioneering techniques, especially for the Rebirth Elixir, which only required a few steps.

With an impressive ingredient such as the Rank 9 Nine-Cycle Rebirth Ginseng, all he had to do was extract its medicinal essence and seal its potency with magic to prevent it from dispersing. Ṛᴀɴố𐌱Ɛ𝒮

After all, the medicinal essence of the Nine-Cycle Rebirth Ginseng was unlike that of most magical plants;it was more spiritual than material. As such, it would easily scatter and mix with the surroundings if there were no binding force in place.

That was why Vaan required magic and a vacuum space for the convenience of elixir refinement.

Generally, the extraction of the medicinal essence would also involve the use of magical flames or dissolving fluids. However, Vaan didn’t require any of these, given his abilities as a first-generation Soul Master.

After taking out the Rank 9 Nine-Cycle Rebirth Ginseng, Vaan covered it spherical barrier of mana, then, with a thought, squeezed the ginseng’s medicinal essence out with the brute force of his soul power.

No fancy, magical flame or typical dissolving fluid was needed to extract its medicinal essence.

After the Rank 9 Nine-Cycle Rebirth Ginseng was completely wrung of its medicinal essence, it shriveled up and disintegrated into nothing. Its medicinal essence was the source of its magical existence.

Without it, its physical body would naturally disappear.

Eventually, Vaan shrank the mana barrier to contain the complete medicinal extract, removing any empty space within, and shaping it into a round, pill-like object.

Afterward, he applied three layers of magical seals on it, preventing the mana barrier from breaking without his active control, and warding off impurities.

Finally, he placed the round medicinal extract in a specialized elixir box, which perfectly preserved it for a long time.

’It’s done,’ Vaan thought.

However, he didn’t store the Rebirth Elixir away, but continued to stare at it in thought. The process was smooth, and the execution was flawless.

As such, a perfect Rebirth Elixir was produced.

’Normally, I could stop here, but... this Rebirth Elixir is crucial for Scarlett’s body reconstruction. There can’t be any room for mistakes during the process,’ Vaan contemplated.

Once Empyrean Scarletsea consumed the Rebirth Elixir, her soul would begin forming a new body from the spiritual ground up. Under this state, her soul was also at its most vulnerable.

Should anything go wrong during the process, it could easily lead to the destruction of her soul.

’Refine!’ Vaan immediately willed.

Strong soul power quickly enveloped the Rebirth Elixir, enhancing its ability to produce its intended effect. As a result, the Rebirth Elixir was upgraded to Pinnacle Rank 9 Divine Elixir.

’Now, it is ready,’ Vaan thought, finally satisfied with the quality.

Shortly after, Vaan returned to Henrietta’s side to hand over the Pinnacle Rank 9 Rebirth Elixir, surprising the latter as she was lingering around Sunpeak City due to the energy disappearance situation.

"It’s already done?"

"Mm. It’s done."

Henrietta stared at the valuable elixir box in her hands with astonishment and surprise.

Vaan had just initiated Pangea’s life planet transformation, yet the Rebirth Elixir was already successfully refined. This level of efficiency was quite unbelievable. He was too efficient.

How could anyone keep up?

Originally, the responsibility of helping Empyrean Scarletsea rebuild her body belonged to Henrietta. It was the only way she could repay her master for her tutelage and protection over the years.

However, this responsibility was taken from her. Vaan procured and provided far better body reconstruction methods than her.

Even so, she didn’t mind losing this opportunity to repay her master. Her master’s chance to rebuild a good body was obviously a good thing.

Moreover, the sooner her master completed her body reconstruction, the sooner Pangea would have another tall tree to shield it from the winds and rains.

Henrietta just didn’t know how she should treat her master thereafter.

Clearly, her master and Vaan were lovers in a past life, and they intend to continue their relationship in the present.

However, she was also Vaan’s wife and a disciple of her master. Thus, should she still consider her master her master or her sister?

Their relationship seemed to have become quite messed up. She felt somewhat uncomfortable, but even more so confused.

"When does Scarlett wish to take the Rebirth Elixir and undergo body reconstruction?" Vaan inquired.

"Master said she will begin after you leave," Henrietta relayed Empyrean Scarletsea’s answer.

Vaan nodded with understanding.

After a few more exchanges, Vaan bid goodbye and headed off to visit Astoria, despite being near Sunpeak City. Evidently, Astoria occupied a more prominent place in his heart than the others. Yet, this was also something he hadn’t quite understood.

Nevertheless, since he desired to see her, he would naturally go and see her.

Given his current abilities, the distance between the Blackmoon Empire and the Holy Knight Empire didn’t make much difference. He could freely travel between the two human empires in an instant.

Swish!

"Who?!"

Astoria was going through a pile of documents in her office when she suddenly sensed a new presence invading her private space without warning. This prompted her to shoot up to her feet immediately.

However, upon seeing Vaan’s familiar figure, her sharpened gaze quickly softened with surprise and joy.

"Vaan!" Astoria cried, feeling pleasantly surprised.

Happiness came too suddenly.

Although she received news of Vaan’s return, she didn’t expect him to visit her so soon, considering she had to govern the Holy Knight Empire, whereas the other sisters were mostly gathered in the Blackmoon Empire.

As such, she was overwhelmed with joy, knowing he had specifically chosen to visit her before the others, signifying her importance in his heart.

Without hesitation or further thought, Astoria immediately leaped into Vaan’s arms.

Rumble!

The imperial palace shook in Astoria’s excitement to embrace Vaan, who also stood his ground to receive her. Otherwise, her strong contact would have torn down at least one wall in the imperial palace.

Even so, Vaan’s lips twitched at her inhuman brute strength, which did not match her slender figure. Such a thin frame, yet it wielded the physical might of a dragon.

"Your physical strength has improved quite a lot since the last time we met," Vaan smiled wryly as he tousled her hair with gentleness.
