The World Dragon's Heir

Chapter 511: Kick Her Out

Chapter 511: Kick Her Out

Dominic sipped his drink for a moment, formulating a solution to their situation.

"Alright, where is Janice right now? I know that her man is in custody," he asked.

"She was escorted from the party by Princess Alexis. I believe that she was being put in confinement in her rooms, pending a decision." Prince Fahad explained.

Dominic nodded. "Alright, that works for a moment. Even without considering their past, it is not acceptable that any Cygnia Noble would have their people assault a visiting Royal.

So, I plan to eject them both from the event, with a petition to the Count of Biverlow Mews to try them for assaulting a Royal and causing an international incident."

Trionne cleared her throat. "You understand what will happen if you do that, yes?"

Dominic shrugged. "Do you remember what the Wavemates punishment was for a rapist?"

The old Techno Witch gave an evil chuckle. "A thousand lashes with a poisoned whip. Yes, I remember. Though I don’t recall the last time that anyone had to use it."

"When you look at it that way, this seems quite kind. In fact, they might survive it. The Biverlow Mews daughter might not end up in the marriage that she wanted, but there are other events, or her father can arrange something.

However, after this incident, she is no longer welcome at this one."

Trionne nodded. "I can open a portal there if you would like."

"Oh, that is a wonderful idea. I was going to send her with the next convoy if she didn’t have a ride. But bringing her father here, or sending her straight home, would work as well."

Poppy sighed dramatically. "Send her back to him. He’s just as bad as she is, and you’d end up having to listen to his theatrics about how his daughter is definitely the victim in any and every situation."

That sounded like much more of a headache than just kicking her out and letting her be dramatic at home.

"Dave, can you please go collect Janice and her man for me? Have the other Dave bring whichever one you don’t."

The troll nodded, and walked away, while Poppy gave Karl a confused look.

"You know, I’ve been meaning to ask you for some time. Which one is Dave?"

"All the ones that are not Larry or Ingrid."

"That’s not helpful."

"All the ones in battle armour are named Dave. All forty-five of them. The cooks are Larry, and the only female Mountain Troll is Ingrid, their mother."

Trionne smiled at his explanation. "That sounds right for Mountain Trolls left to their own devices. You see, the women like them big and dumb, but the problem is that they end up with big dumb sons. Creativity isn’t their strong point."

After a moment, Dave came in, carrying a small brunette like a Princess, while another troll dragged a servant by his ankles.

"Is there a reason he’s not walking?"

"Didn’t want to. Brought him anyhow." Dave replied with a shrug.

The man looked pretty rough, and not just from being dragged up at least two flights of stairs by his ankles. He had most likely been questioned by the Royal Guard, Dominic decided, when he saw one standing in the hall.

"You may place the lady in the chair beside Advisor Trionne." Dominic began.

One troll set the Lady down, while the other rearranged the battered servant so that he was kneeling.

"Your Grace, thank goodness you’ve seen sense. I was afraid that I would miss an entire day of the event over this misunderstanding."

"Misunderstanding?"

"It must be. I have no idea what the Axbridge Princess has said, but I only wanted to warn her about the dangers of cavorting with commoners, and she attacked me.

She’s been a vicious bully since we were children.

Your Grace, please. I know that my status could never match hers, but if I might make a request. Don’t hold it against her, she’s just in her rebellious phase."

Dominic nodded understandingly, while Dave rolled his eyes. The dramatic overacting wasn’t even good enough to fool the trolls.

How she had made it this far with that level of skill was a mystery.

"That is terrible to hear. However, things have gotten too far out of hand today, and as I’m sure you’re aware, Noble Ladies are responsible for their servants while they are at the event.

This one is yours, and he is facing trial for assaulting a Royal.

As such, we have no choice but to send you home with him. Either your father or the Royal Courts can deal with the issue at their leisure."

Right on cue, the tears began to flow.

"Your Grace, please. Don’t let her scheming ruin my only chance at a good marriage."

Dominic smiled, formulating another plan. "Well, the rules do say you are ejected from the event along with your servant. However, I suppose there is no need to send you all the way home with him. If you would like to stay in the city, I can arrange for you to move in with one of the groups of Nobles bunking in the warehouses.

They’re mixed with their servants, so I can’t guarantee where you’ll find a bed, but you’ll still be able to attend the events within the city, just not within the Manor."

Poppy didn’t look convinced that this was a good idea, but Dominic hadn’t mentioned yet that all the Nobles in the warehouses were men. The ladies were either in the Manor or in one of the apartment blocks.

That would likely change soon, with more guests coming, but that was how it was for now, and she didn’t have a proper setup of her own.

"Your Grace? Aren’t those all taken by sons of the untitled Nobles?"

"Not at all. There are many men from the north whose families have higher titles. They’re just younger sons, and didn’t have an arrangement. It might seem improper, but there are separate shower areas for the ladies."

Princess Poppy turned away to hide her amusement. With Janice’s history of failed scheming, she was almost guaranteed to end up in a scandal that would see her married before the end of the week.

The Royal Guard cleared his throat. "Many of the men of the Natural Sons’ Regiment are staying with the locals for now, to avoid overcrowding in their barracks. If you’re searching in the city, there are many titled men to be found."

"In that case, please help me, Your Grace."

"Wait here, Advisor Trionne is going to open a portal to send your man home, and your father may wish to have a word or two with you before it closes.

Advisor, you may open the portal in the back corner. Thank you for your assistance."
