Chapter 1013: Background Deals

Chapter 1013: Background Deals

(The next day, Planet Ixtal, Amanda’s POV)

The next day, acting on Alia’s rather mischievous advice, Amanda attempted to quietly whisk the children away on a short trip back to the Time Stilled World, hoping to execute her plan without drawing unnecessary attention; however, much to her misfortune, she ran into an unexpected obstacle standing squarely in her path — a certain large, green beast known as Dumpy.

"Lady Mother, why are you headed for the hangar bay area with the children?

And where is Su Pei?

Need I remind you that the Skyshard Family is to never roam without adequate protection?"

Dumpy asked, as Amanda felt her heart sink in her chest when she saw the Big Green Beast appear before her out of nowhere.

"ITS DUMPY!"

"MOM LOOK, IT’S THE SQUISHY GREEN FROG!"

Caleb and Mairon said excitedly as they pointed towards Dumpy in joy, which caused the otherwise stoic frog to crack a rare smile.

"I— We, we are going to the Time Stilled World to buy a surprise gift for your Lord Father.

It’s a surprise, so I don’t want anyone to know about it.

Which is also why I haven’t asked Su Pei to accompany us.

As you must know, your Lord Father is trying so hard as of late to keep everything around here running smoothly, which is why I thought, why not do something special for him to make his day....."

Amanda said nervously, lying through her teeth as she placed a hand behind her head.

For a moment, she fully expected Dumpy to see through her lie and call her out.

However, to her surprise, Dumpy did not do so and instead nodded in agreement.

"Lord Father is indeed working extremely hard as of late, and will definitely be overjoyed if his family shows him some special attention.

You need not worry Lady Mother, if you don’t want to bring Su Pei alongside you, then it will be, I, Dumpy, who will accompany you.

However, I will never let you or the children travel without a proper escort."

Dumpy declared, as he shrunk his size and forcibly joined his way into the party, as he insisted on accompanying them.

’Oh no....’

Amanda thought internally, as having Dumpy by her side completely defeated the purpose of a surprise get away.

However, having no other option, she reluctantly accepted it in the end, as she continued to make her way to the hangar bay area, hoping that the news of their departure did not reach Leo for at least the next 24 hours.

(Meanwhile, Yu Kiro’s POV)

When Yu Kiro sent Kaelith a letter on behalf of the entire Great Clan Alliance, he did not have much expectation for the Eternal Sovereign to accept their demands, because rulers of Kaelith’s stature rarely returned to negotiations after being publicly rejected, since pride was often more valuable to them than convenience.

However, to his surprise, Kaelith accepted every proposal they had outlined, countering them with only one condition, as though he had already anticipated that the Alliance would eventually circle back to him.

Kaelith’s only demand was that if Moltherak ever came after him, the Great Clan Alliance needed to step forward in his defense, as in return, he promised to help them eliminate Mauriss, and accept a diminished role in universal governance.

As Yu Kiro read the response, an unpleasant sensation settled in his stomach, because although the terms appeared balanced, he understood that aligning with Kaelith meant tying their fate to his in a way that could not be undone casually.

A deal with a devil never came without its price, and while Kaelith had not asked for subservience or public submission, what he demanded instead was commitment, which in many ways was more binding than kneeling ever could be.

Yet when Yu Kiro forced himself to examine the proposal rationally, he could not deny the obvious truth, which was that to take down Mauriss, they needed a fighter who wielded an Origin Metal Blade, and Kaelith was currently the only force capable of providing that balance.

"Well, it’s not like we did not intend to deal with the ancient dragon eventually," Yu Kiro muttered to himself as he reread the final clause, because Moltherak had long been an unstable factor in the cosmic order, and confronting him with Kaelith’s support could potentially reduce long term risk for the Great Clans too.

"I guess this is acceptable...."

Yu Kiro muttered, as with that conclusion forming, he forwarded Kaelith’s response to the remaining Great Clan Gods, attaching a brief assessment that outlined the strategic necessity of the alliance while acknowledging the political cost of binding themselves to the Eternal Sovereign once more.

Responses returned steadily, some cautious and some resigned, yet none outright rejecting the logic, because every one of them understood that without Kaelith, confronting Mauriss would be an unnecessary gamble, and that unity, however uncomfortable, was preferable to fragmentation.

In the end, consensus formed not from enthusiasm but from necessity, as the Great Clan Alliance collectively agreed to Kaelith’s demand, accepting that mutual defense against Moltherak was a reasonable price in exchange for securing his strength against Mauriss.

As an emergency virtual conference was scheduled shortly thereafter, bringing together the Five Great Clan Gods and the Eternal Sovereign in a sealed chamber where terms were restated clearly, responsibilities defined without ambiguity, and the future structure of cooperation laid out in precise language.

Kaelith remained composed throughout the discussion, neither pressing advantage nor displaying arrogance, which only reinforced Yu Kiro’s understanding that this was not a desperate ruler seeking validation, but a sovereign who knew exactly when to extend his hand.

When all clauses had been clarified, an oath was sworn upon the souls of every god present, binding them to mutual defense and coordinated offense, and sealing the alliance under spiritual consequence should betrayal ever occur.

When the projections faded and the chamber emptied, Yu Kiro remained seated for a moment longer, aware that while they had secured the strength necessary to confront Mauriss, they had also entered into a far larger struggle, one where their future seemed shaky at best.
