Titan King: Ascension of the Giant

Chapter 1678: Echoes of a Planar War

Chapter 1678: Echoes of a Planar War

"Survivor’s Platform... Hmph... Nothing but the dying gasp of a prime world."

The golden silhouette shattered into the void. Becoming an arrow himself, he tore the veil between reality and nothingness to bridge two Ascendant Planes.

This was judgment.

He would act as a beacon for the other Ascendant Plane, dragging ruin to their doorstep. It was the Four Gods’ verdict on them all—a verdict on the Titanion Realm.

Crack.

A sound like shattering glass echoed across the Titanion Realm. Every living soul heard the world-shaking fracture.

At the World Tree, Orion, the Lifeless Dreadgod, Archbishop Kysar, and Moriphara snapped their eyes open. They stared at the source of the fracture, finding only a solitary golden arrow.

Before anyone could react, the golden arrow erupted with blinding divine light and shot forth like a comet. It pierced through space and time, tearing through The Realm Barrier, the line between reality and the void, and across different dimensions.

To Orion, the sight itself was a miracle—an incomprehensible act with an unseen purpose and an unknowable future.

Boom.

The arrow detonated in the void like a starburst, scattering gold light and sparks.

At that exact moment, the entire Titanion Realm began to quake. It felt as though the world itself had stumbled into a dark forest and encountered an apex predator—shivering in terror, yet thrumming with a dark anticipation. The terror came from the encroaching enemy. The anticipation came from the chance for two worlds to devour each other.

"One crisis after another. A brilliant ploy." Commander Thresh’s demigod phantom materialized near Orion’s throne. He was the first to arrive as the Titanion Realm shifted.

"Reality and nothingness intertwine. The Four Gods have cornered the Titanion Realm. An Ascendant Plane from The Void is merging with ours. The unknown variables just multiplied," Abyssal Demon Decay muttered, appearing behind Archbishop Kysar. He stared into the emptiness, revealing the shocking truth of the unfolding catastrophe.

"Is the planar war beginning so soon?" sighed the Infernal King of Hell, Twelve-Skulls. Manifesting behind the Lifeless Dreadgod, he seemed lost in ancient memories.

"I wonder which Ascendant Plane it is?" The phantom of the Progenitor Insect arrived next, standing beside Moriphara. He harbored a faint, greedy anticipation for the approaching world.

For sixth stage demigod experts like them, the merging of two Ascendant Planes was ultimately a boon. In the future, once the Titanion Realm grew strong enough, they would have triggered such an event themselves. But in the realm’s current state, initiating a planar war now put them at a severe disadvantage. They were almost certainly the weaker side.

"We have our work cut out for us." Kaidric’s demigod phantom appeared on Orion’s other side. Belonging to one of the oldest races of the Abyssal World, he knew exactly what awaited the Titanion Realm.

According to the secret histories of the Death-Soul Race, the Abyssal World had faced endless internal and external wars before finding stability. Clearly, the Titanion Realm would not escape the same fate.

"Laws of nothingness... familiar mana signatures... I sense Dream Magic!" Morando, Vice Chairman of the Saint Gran Council, manifested behind Orion. As a God of Magic who had mastered every arcane discipline, he immediately identified the encroaching aura.

"That is an Ascendant Plane of The Void. They largely govern the laws of illusion and dreams. If their power system relies purely on dreams, we stand a chance," the Commander added. While addressing Morando, he was actually clarifying the situation for Orion and the entities from the other three continents.

"What happened?" The Deputy Commander, Alexander, Leonidas, Seraphina, The Demigod of the Moonwell... even the Moon Elf Isilra appeared in succession behind Orion. With their fates bound to the Titanion Realm, they rushed over the second the cataclysm began.

At the same time, dozens of phantasmal figures materialized around the Lifeless Dreadgod, Archbishop Kysar, and Moriphara. Every single one was a demigod.

Orion swept his gaze over the gathering. Counting the four factions together, their numbers exceeded a hundred. For now, this was the entire foundation of the Titanion Realm. No matter who the enemy was or how many they numbered, this vanguard would have to hold the line.

Seeing so many demigod powerhouses assembled, a strange thrill bloomed in Orion’s chest. He couldn’t explain it, but a deep hunger gnawed at him.

Am I craving war?

Orion glanced at the Commander. The older man ignored him, his eyes locked onto the Ascendant Plane in the void.

"How will the two planes compete?" asked Morando of the Saint Gran Council, giving voice to the question weighing on everyone’s mind.

"They aren’t just going to smash into each other and mutually destruct, right?" Leonidas joked grimly. At his current realm, it was the only scenario he could picture.

"An Ascendant Plane exists differently from a mundane world. They have self-preservation mechanisms," Kaidric explained, glancing at Leonidas, a fellow member of the Champions Alliance. "When Ascendant Planes first make contact, the initial competition is usually mild. It typically starts as a war of attrition fought between the champions of both worlds."

Very few beings present had actually participated in or understood the mechanics of a planar war.

"Mild? What a joke." Abyssal Demon Decay scoffed. Unlike Kaidric, he didn’t know Leonidas and had zero interest in pleasantries. "A ’war of attrition’ between champions means survival or death. The losers are digested as nutrients for the victor’s plane. There is no escape. Once a planar war begins, there is no retreat. No evasion. Only a fight to the death."

Abyssal Demon Decay delivered the heavy, guttural warning wrapped in a primordial, bloodthirsty aura. The sheer malice in his voice dragged the weaker demigods into a suffocating waking nightmare of slaughter.

Orion instinctively braced against the crushing killing intent, but a telepathic message from the Commander stayed his hand.

Do not resist. That is not an illusion. It is Decay’s memory—a genuine planar war.

Surrendering to it, Orion plunged into the memory.

Under a blood-red moon, countless champions fell from the sky. Space tore open. Abyssal Demons, Doomsday Guardians, Scourge Sentinels, Fel Skeletons, Abyssal Wyrms, the Undead, the Death-Soul Race... the will of the plane summoned an endless tide of races. Countless apex warriors converged in a chaotic, blood-soaked massacre.

Orion tilted his head up. A colossal, holy face obscured the sky, staring down at the battlefield.

In the next instant, the god fell.
