Chapter 1270: Chapter 111: Boss Luo's Anti-Magic Space

Chapter 1270: Chapter 111: Boss Luo’s Anti-Magic Space

All around, hundreds of cold, ghostly chains flowed continuously… They seemed to have no end, or no origin, as if they came from the void.

Both Black Water and Wang Hu had their limbs bound by chains at this moment… both were hung up like criminals awaiting execution.

Black Water hung her head, her vertical fragmented golden pupils regaining clarity, accompanied by a feeling of weakness… She realized this was because her demonic nature had been stirred, utilizing a power she shouldn’t have used.

But she hadn’t expected that even after using that power she was reluctant to wield, it didn’t change the current situation a bit, and seemed worse… What exactly happened?

She believed that not only she was puzzled, but so was that absurdly strong one-armed fellow.

Wang Hu indeed had a feeling of having swallowed something stifling — he already sensed something inside him awakening, but due to these chains, it was brutally suppressed back into its original form.

Nevertheless, his immense fighting spirit had been wiped away, and he now appeared as the familiar big oaf to Bu Bugao.

Somehow the demon clouds in the sky had dispersed… Black Water raised her head to see a night sky with sparse stars and a bright moon.

She attempted to move, but the chains wrapped around her did not tighten as imagined with more struggle… They even began to loosen.

The chains started moving again, and both she and Wang Hu were gently lowered down, entirely freed.

A cold wind blew, and Black Water shivered unexpectedly… She looked around to see that many buildings had already collapsed. Not far away was a fallen pedestrian bridge that crashed down on a truck which seemed to have been driving past.

At the center of this, within approximately a few kilometers, numerous cries of terror could be heard…

A chain approached Black Water’s face, slowly coiling upwards, like a spirit snake being controlled by a flute.

“This is my doing…” Black Water murmured, her head hanging low, as the gently flowing multitude of chains made sounds resembling reproach.

“I…” Black Water opened her mouth, “I… I won’t do it again, I’m sorry.”

After that, the chains retracted like they were returning to a cavern, finally leaving only one that ascended directly into the sky, disappearing into the night sky.

Beside her, Wang Hu just stared blankly at his hand, his brows furrowed deeply.

A moment later, Black Water cautiously looked at Wang Hu, clenched her teeth, and said, “Let’s just leave it at that… If you and I fight again, those chains will likely reappear… It seems they exist to protect this city.”

Wang Hu did not speak, merely nodded silently.

He didn’t know the origin of the chains but felt there was no deception — the terror those chains caused him surpassed manifold his last confrontation with Long Xiruo.

Facing Long Xiruo last time, he was forced to abandon the resistance, while this time, he couldn’t even summon a desire to fight.

“You should go now.” Wang Hu looked at Black Water and said slowly, “Go back and train more, you’re quite strong.”

After speaking, he jumped down from the half-collapsed building.

Black Water opened her mouth but eventually didn’t say anything, just frowned deeply… At that moment, a small shadow suddenly leapt beside her.

“Little Pig.” The frown slowly eased, and she showed a gentle smile, holding Little Pig in her arms and softly comforting, “It’s okay now.”

Little Pig looked up, anxiously glancing around, said timidly, “Sister, are we leaving again…”

Black Water looked at the devastation within those few kilometers… Although some were injured, surprisingly there were no deaths caused by the tremor.

Perhaps it was because of those chains…

“We probably aren’t welcome in this city…”

She sighed softly, but didn’t know, upon leaving here, where else could they go?

Fire trucks and police cars hurriedly traversed the city’s streets at this moment, rescuing afflicted citizens… And the building, the epicenter of the tremor, was eerily silent.

Liu Minghao and Wei Zidao successfully rendezvoused with Bu Bugao, rushing to find the injured before the building collapsed halfway, utilizing numerous powerful new Taoist talismans, regardless of the cost, unleashing a massive number of other tools to erect a defensive barrier, barely preventing everyone from being buried alive.

“It seems… it stopped?” Listening to the sounds, Bu Bugao spoke nervously, “Outside?”

“I’ll go check.” Wei Zidao said a word, then forcefully pried open a wooden plank, scrambling upward.

Liu Minghao frowned, surveying the assembled injured, “Why are there children here?”

A group of researchers, some injured, those lucky enough not to be were with several children, huddled in one corner, looking frightened, yet not daring to speak.

Bu Bugao pulled Liu Minghao to one side, “Senior, I found some documents… do you want to take a look?”

Liu Minghao reached out, taking the documents Bu Bugao collected, initially skimming through… but as he read, his speed slowed, and his expression grew heavy.

Finally, Liu Minghao snorted coldly, “Supernatural research… live experiments? Hmph!! Boss Zhong dares!”

“Senior, what do you think we should do about this?” Bu Bugao cautiously asked… it seemed this time wasn’t about gaining credit, but they encountered something undesirable?

“This matter, neither you nor I can handle.” Liu Minghao shook his head, quite vexed, “Previously Zhong Luochen’s contact with the Transcendent, I reported it, but got no response from above. If they’re still indifferent this time after it’s escalated, I’m quitting!”

“What about the people here?”

“Take them all back to the office.” Liu Minghao thought and said, “We can’t let these researchers and gifted children disperse into society… For now, we should put them under surveillance.”

Not long after, Wei Zidao returned, saying the battle outside had gone silent. He didn’t find the huge powerful monster, only encountering Wang Hu, but Wang Hu was in a fool’s state, unable to answer anything correctly.

If it was just in the beginning, Wei Zidao considered interrogating well, but seeing Wang Hu’s explosive combat power, he had to handle it cautiously, heaven knows when Wang Hu might go berserk again?

But funny enough, this terrifying Wang Hu let Bu Bugao berate and beat him at will, which left the two men utterly bewildered…

“Take everyone away first.” Liu Minghao sighed, “Count how many breaks we have left when we get back… Who knows how many people saw the demon cloud, afraid it’s not enough. Zidao, after taking the people to the office, rush back to the branch overnight, explain the situation, and ask for reinforcements… or I’m quitting!”

“Help, save my child… Save my child…”

“Anyone there? Someone fainted over here!!”

“Give me a hand, move this pillar off… My boyfriend is trapped, help, help…”

“Ambulance!! Ambulance!!”

Amid the chaos… the voices turned into a mournful tune, spreading bit by bit… Up on the remaining half of the building owned by Boss Zhong, Luo Qiu quietly watched it all, still wearing his pajamas.

Behind him, the maid held a set of clothes in her arms… but her master hasn’t changed.

“Master…”

Luo Qiu slowly opened his eyes and said distantly, “I was thinking about how to better fulfill the contract with it in the future.”

“What does Master intend to do?” You Ye came forward.

Luo Qiu said, “Do you have any good ideas.”

“Master already has a plan.” You Ye said softly, “Just follow what Master wants.”

Luo Qiu mused, “If we only act when disasters appear, there’s always a feeling of laxity… even though it doesn’t violate the contract. However, preemptively preventing it might be better. Let’s make this place a vacuum zone.”

“Is the master planning to prohibit all activities involving Superordinary Powers in this city?”

Luo Qiu shook his head and said, “Let’s keep it to a minimum… After all, there are still so many monsters living here. If no Power could be used at all, by tomorrow morning, many monsters would have to reveal their true forms. Human disasters, monster disasters, as long as they don’t escalate to the level of tonight, won’t cause much harm to the city… and naturally, there are people whose duty it is to handle these matters.”

“It’s going to exceed the budget…” the maid gently reminded.”

Luo Qiu chuckled, and as a breeze blew by, he said softly, “I promised after all.”

As he spoke, he reached out to the sky, spread his five fingers, and then slowly pressed down… At the moment when his palm was level with the horizon, centered from this point, it covered the entire city and even the suburbs… Within the area previously covered by that underground leyline, everything instantly fell into a ‘vacuum’ state.

“Alright.” Boss Luo clapped his hands, “Since we can’t sleep anyway… why don’t we go down and help? Just put in some ordinary effort like everyone else.”

“Okay.” The maid smiled slightly, then shook the clothes in her hand, “Master, aren’t you planning to change your clothes first?”

“… I’m sorry.”

This smile had a bit of sternness to it.

In the room, Lizi opened the window and gazed at the distance… From the moment the monster clouds appeared, although she was already asleep, she was naturally startled awake.

Who knows which two huge powerful monsters went crazy and started fighting directly in the city… Don’t they know a true dragon lives here?

In the end, Lizi did not detect the presence of the True Dragon Qi. What she noticed, however, was that the two mighty and terrifying demonic powers suddenly vanished without a trace, leaving a rather anticlimactic feeling.

Although she doesn’t proactively interact with China’s Transcendents, at the very least, she needs to know what happened, right… If necessary, be ready to run away at any moment…

Thinking this, Lizi raised her little palm and softly called, “Snow elf, help me to see what happened over there.”

A bit of frost began to condense in her palm, spiraling and forming a small sphere—yet just as the snow elf was about to form, it suddenly melted away.

Lizi was startled, silently wondering if she hadn’t forgotten the spell. She was quite full and satisfied tonight, so why wasn’t it working?

She tried to summon the snow elf again… and failed.

Failed.

Failed.

“What’s happening…” Lizi shivered, a face of terror, realizing the fact—her entire body’s demonic power was indeed still present, but she just couldn’t utilize it!

“Sleep! It must be an illusion! Everything will be fine when I wake up!”

Without further ado, Lizi directly dove back under the covers, even pulled the quilt over her head… Regardless, this home still gave her a sense of peace.

Otherwise, she truly would have been scared to run away…

Zhuifeng at this moment used all his might to run toward the wall. At the moment he was about to crash into it, he resolutely jumped, stepping on the wall with both feet—planning to run upwards along it.

But he had managed only a few steps before his body directly plummeted back to the ground.

And it wasn’t just him; Lang Yong and Lang Wu, beside him, were also making similar attempts—time and time again, the three Monster Wolves naturally fell back to the ground each time.

“What’s happening… my power?”

“Wolf Lord, ours too…”

At this time, Mo Xiaofei came over with furrowed brows, “No use trying… I can’t fly anymore either. And, only to this extent.”

With that, Mo Xiaofei waved his hand, and a stone on the ground wobbly floated up. Mo Xiaofei then shouted, and the stone shot out—it traced a parabolic path about two meters long, then landed on the ground.

“What exactly happened…” Zhuifeng looked towards Zi Xing in confusion; from his impression, Zi Xing was the type that knew a great deal—only since coming back from Mount Tai, she hadn’t smiled once, always keeping a cold presence beside him, often asking the same question: when do you plan to head to the Siberian plateau.

Zi Xing shook her head; she too had attempted several times to no avail, “The surrounding Heaven and Earth spiritual energy seems to have solidified and won’t move… The demonic power itself is fine but appears to be isolated. It seems our bodies are disconnected from the surrounding Space, so demonic power can’t transmit. Likewise, Lord Mo’s Telekinesis should be the same.”

“This…” Mo Xiaofei mused with a frown: “Isn’t this just like in a game, the so-called anti-magic Space?”

“Anti-magic?” Zi Xing paused, then nodded: “It seems it’s the same meaning.”

“Just now…” Mo Xiaofei pondered as he gazed into the night sky… this was the direction from which he suddenly sensed those two terrifying powers emerge.

He originally planned to go and take a look, but as soon as he approached, he discovered many areas had collapsed around him, forcing him to switch to rescuing people—yet as he was engaged in rescuing, the ability suddenly vanished.

Zhuifeng quickly found him… along with his Wind-Chasing Juvenile Group members.

But everyone ran into the same situation, unable to utilize their abilities.

“Could it have anything to do with those two terrifying demonic powers earlier…” Zi Xing continued to delve into her thoughts, “Too bad Lord Long is away or else he would probably know what happened.”

Mo Xiaofei, however, suddenly said, “Perhaps… it’s a good thing.”

“Big Brother?” Zhuifeng was puzzled.

Mo Xiaofei seriously said, “Since no one can use their powers, it’s the same for everyone. This way, isn’t there no longer a threat of terrifying disasters like just before? This is a good thing for both the people living here and the city itself, isn’t it.”

With that, Mo Xiaofei patted Zhuifeng’s head and laughed, “Alright, let’s not talk about abilities… maybe it’s temporary… Let’s focus on rescuing people first! Wind-Chasing Juvenile Group, all team, go!”

“Present!!”

“Rescue!”

Watching Mo Xiaofei lead Zhuifeng and the other little monsters into street rescue efforts without any worries, Zi Xing could not help but frown.

Wolf Lord… being so close to humans isn’t necessarily a good thing.

“Young master, what about us?” Lang Yong whispered.

Zi Xing sighed and shook her head, “You guys go help the Wolf Lord… no reason for servants to stand and watch while the master works.”

Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing…

Several of them together moved a lamp post away, setting an oppressed passerby into a safe place beside.

Mo Xiaofei wiped sweat from his forehead at this time… although abilities couldn’t be used, thanks to the essential blood of the True Dragon, his physical strength was much more than ordinary.

“Alright, the ambulance should be coming soon, let’s go and help somewhere else.” He looked at Zhuifeng and said, “What’s the matter?”

Zhuifeng, keeping his head down, seemed to be thinking. He looked up, frowned, and said, “Big Brother, without powers, are you really okay with it?”

“Why wouldn’t I be?” Mo Xiaofei curiously asked.

Zhuifeng said: “But… without powers, there are many things you can’t do anymore, plus you won’t be able to fly, you really don’t mind?”

“Hmm… saying I don’t mind is definitely a lie.” Mo Xiaofei sighed and then smiled slightly, “But as for me… I didn’t know how to fly to begin with.”
