Chapter 1387: Chapter 114: Clinging to Life

They indeed belonged to the bloodsucker side… but ultimately, they were still humans, not even servants.

David, who entered through the broken window, relying on the lingering effects of the drugs in his body, now possessed greater physical strength and power than the three men from the Supervisory Group.

David entered through the broken window and delivered a fierce elbow to one of the men’s back of the head… The blow severely injured the man, knocking him to the ground.

Seeing this, the other two Supervisory Group men instinctively lunged forward.

David grabbed a chair and swung it at the two, and in no time, took advantage of his superior strength and power to put all three men on the ground.

“The Aristocrats won’t… let you go…” The man on the ground spat out blood, glaring hard at David.

Unexpectedly, David, emotionless, raised his foot and stomped down. He directly crushed the man’s throat!

“Wait, we’re humans too…” Seeing David’s cold-blooded actions, the remaining two quickly exclaimed in fear, “We… we were just forced…”

David drew a dagger from the long boots of the already deceased man… he directly stabbed the other two men.

“I swore to save all my human comrades… but not the beasts.”

He pulled the dagger out from their bodies… His clothes had splatters of blood, and the dagger dripped with it.

He walked step by step to the naked woman hanging in front of him.

The woman looked in terror—David, wielding the dagger, swung it directly toward her.

The woman closed her eyes in fear but suddenly felt her body loosen, causing her to fall to the ground—she was freed.

The woman opened her eyes, uncertainly gazing at the man who had entered through the broken window.

“Hydrogen peroxide, or alcohol.” David coldly looked at the woman sitting on the ground and spoke.

“Wh… what?” The woman couldn’t react.

“I said, hydrogen peroxide or alcohol!” David stared into her eyes, “If you don’t cover the smell of this blood soon, the bloodsuckers will quickly detect it… Are you planning to attract the real bloodsuckers?”

The woman shivered violently.

Then she looked in terror at the already gruesome dead men… staring at their twisted faces, she trembled and quickly got up.

She hurriedly crawled to the cabinet beside the room, knocking over many items due to panic, finally finding a box, but it didn’t contain what David needed.

“Iod… iodine tincture?”

David said nothing but quickly poured the iodine tincture on the corpses’ wounds, then wrapped the three bodies in carpets… Throughout, the woman cowered fearfully in the corner.

When David finished handling everything and looked her way… she felt David’s gaze and covered her body with her hands.

She didn’t even dare look him in the eyes… as if just a glance would reveal her as something ugly.

“Are you the dormitory Supervisor?” David looked at the woman with an uncertain gaze… He hadn’t lowered the dagger in his hand.

“I…” the woman stammered, “I’m just… just a substitute; the Supervisor here already died.”

“A substitute is still a Supervisor.” David slowly walked toward the woman, “Whether it’s the Supervisory Group or Supervisor… they all surrendered to the bloodsuckers, abandoned their human identity to live, helping them enslave us.”

Seeing David raise the dagger, possibly ending up like the three Supervisory Group men… In a strong survival instinct, the woman suddenly screamed, “Even if you kill me, it won’t benefit you! Keeping me might actually help you a little!”

“How can you help me?”

The dagger stopped before the woman… but she knew if she couldn’t say something useful, it would still pierce into her body.

The woman quickly said, “You killed them; you won’t escape either! Alone, you can’t possibly fight against the Aristocrats… bloodsuckers here! If you could oppose them, you wouldn’t need to hide their bodies… you need help, I can help you! To escape here!”

“Why should I trust you, this… Supervisor substitute?” David sneered, the dagger suddenly thrusting toward her throat.

“For self-preservation!”

The woman screamed… the dagger blade was already against her neck, her eyes fixated on the cold glint of the blade, her breaths rapid as she said, “I can’t escape! You saw, they weren’t planning to truly interrogate me, just find a scapegoat! If you don’t save me, my fate will be unimaginable… Rather than that, why wouldn’t I save myself!? Even in death, I refuse to be sent to the Breeding Farm!! Don’t you understand? If I had a choice, I wouldn’t have chosen to be a Supervisor!”

They stared… holding their breaths for a long time.

David suddenly withdrew the dagger, coolly saying, “Get dressed; on the way, if you make any strange moves, don’t worry, you’ll definitely die within three seconds.”

Her held breath suddenly resumed… The woman instinctively covered her neck, her body slumping—relaxed to the point of losing control.

But she no longer cared about her current disgrace, quickly putting on her stripped clothes, hurriedly tidying up her face… Under David’s gaze, she quickly pulled herself together, opening another window, looking out and inspecting the surroundings.

“For now, we should be safe; just wait until daylight, when these Aristocrats go to sleep, only a few bloodsuckers will continue moving.”

Thinking as she spoke, “During the day, the town’s children partake in various activities, classes, or learning other things… Leaving then should be safer! I know a secret passage that can get us safely away from here, reaching the edge of the Farm!”

David looked at the woman, suddenly saying, “You seem… quite prepared.”

Woman kept an emotionless face, saying, “As I said, I don’t want to be sent to the Breeding Farm, nor do I want my whole life to be miserable.”

“What’s your name?”

“Ann!”

David nodded, immediately saying, “From now on, don’t leave my sight… Now, tell me, besides these three, are there any other Supervisory Group members or bloodsuckers in this villa?”

The woman… Ann quickly responded, “There shouldn’t be any. Today a conflict arose among the Aristocrats, I heard an upper-class bloodsucker died. Compared to that event, a Supervisor’s suicide didn’t cause much attention.”

David said, “You mentioned knowing a way out; now take me to see it.”

Ann wasted no words, took a few deep breaths to calm her emotions, then hurriedly opened the room door, “Those children should be sound asleep; come, step lightly as you go.”

Under Ann’s guidance, David quickly arrived at a storage room in the courtyard of Dormitory No. 7.

The passage Ann mentioned was precisely within this storage room—simply push aside the heavy object on the ground, lift the floor, and you would see a tunnel capable of accommodating one person at a time.

“I don’t know who exactly dug this secret tunnel… I’ve walked through it once, and it leads all the way out of the Farm,” Ann said quickly. “I discovered it accidentally when I was tasked to clean this place once… I observed it for a while but never noticed anyone using it.”

Saying this, Ann directly crawled into the tunnel, but halfway down, David suddenly grabbed her arm.

“What are you trying to do?” David asked coldly.

Ann said matter-of-factly, “Of course, I’m going to hide in here! Rest assured, I’ve already stored plenty of dry food, drinking water, and other supplies inside the tunnel… staying there for a month won’t be a problem!”

“You really came well-prepared,” David sneered. “Looks like you’ve been planning to escape from here at every moment, huh?”

Ann retorted, “If even a position like Supervisor can’t provide an opportunity for me to leave, why shouldn’t I leave this place?”

David stated, “Since you discovered this tunnel early, why didn’t you take the children and leave this place?”

Ann paused and then frowned, “I wouldn’t dare say that after leaving through the tunnel, I could escape the Clan’s territory… you want me to take the kids? Are you insane? Moreover! Even I, who knows the truth, have never left the bloodsucker’s territory, nor do I know what the outside world is truly like… Whether the outside is suitable for us to live, I have no idea, taking a group of kids would do what… drag me down or lead us all to our deaths? Are you coming or not? If not, I am!”

She broke free from David’s grasp and crawled deeper into the tunnel again.

But David caught Ann once more, seeing the rising anger on her face, he calmly said, “You cannot leave now, I have two companions outside, I need you to help me find them.”

“You’re out of your mind!! I’m not going!”

“Then I’ll leave you here.”

David eyed Ann without a hint of sympathy, “Anyway, I already know about the existence of this tunnel.”

“You dog-brained bastard!! I’ll curse you!!”

Ann glared at the man who pulled the bridge out from under her, wanting to tear his body apart.

“You have no choice.”

David said calmly, gradually pulling Ann out of the tunnel, “And don’t even think about resisting me. If you want to survive here, just do as I say… I’m not planning to waste time arguing with you here! This will only keep my companions in danger longer.”

Ann gritted her teeth with resentment, then abruptly stood up and walked towards the door of the storage room.

“What are you up to again?” David once again grabbed her arm.

Ann angrily said, “You wanted to find your companions? Then go now! Or are you just talking, playing hero for show?!”

David snorted and released Ann.

Ann took a slow breath and said coldly, “Where are your companions hiding now?”

“I don’t know.” David shook his head.

Ann looked at him incredulously, “You… You don’t know? And you’re asking me??”

David said, “If they are hiding, they will hide in the place with the most humans… which is the various dormitories.”

Ann rolled her eyes and slapped her forehead, bitterly said, “You can’t even be sure if your companions are hiding in this dormitory? Don’t you know that, even as a Supervisor, going out at night is very troublesome! Let alone when I’m just a substitute? My god… I finally understand why you Revolutionaries never manage to achieve anything!”

“What did you say?” David’s gaze turned cold.

“Because you act on pure delusion, feeling good about yourselves while never truly seeing what reality is!”

David remained silent, his gaze filled increasingly with a murderous aura.

Ann, however, strangely did not show fear this time, simply said coldly to the furious man in front of her, “Why, do you plan to strike me… is there any difference between you and the last few people? Bullying the weak, whimsically controlling the lives of those weaker… anyone not complying must be eliminated, right.”

David took a deep breath, walked past Ann, and slowly said, “It’s getting late, let’s start searching from this dormitory. If they are hiding here, there will be an understandable signal they left behind…”

Bang—!

At that moment, David felt his brain buzzing… something heavy had struck his back of the head with force.

He suddenly saw stars, staggered, turned around, only to see Ann… Ann holding an old frying pan.

Seeing David hadn’t fallen, Ann said nothing and swung the old frying pan again, hitting David’s forehead with force.

Even as a human… the skull remains a very fragile place.

Ann possessed no Transcendent power, but exerting her full effort, it was enough to knock someone unconscious with a frying pan—thud, with consecutive blows, David finally fell to the ground!

Seeing David no longer moving on the ground… Ann hurriedly found some ropes in the storage room, struggling for a while to tie David up several times thoroughly.

“If you want to die, go die yourself.”

Ann at this moment clapped the dust off her hands, looked at David’s face, and muttered, “One person… simply can’t accomplish anything.”

Saying this, Ann lifted her skirt and quickly walked to the tunnel’s entrance— just as she was about to leap into it and escape from this place, she saw someone suddenly pop out from the tunnel.

It was a young man’s face… black hair, black eyes.

“So this is where it leads…”

The young man looked up at Ann, who was standing above with wide eyes, smiled slightly, and said, “Excuse me, may I come up first… ma’am.”

Luo… the boss.
