Chapter 1394: Chapter 121: [God]

Chapter 1394: Chapter 121: [God]

Ann suddenly shivered; instinctively, her actions preceded her thoughts: She quickly blindfolded the woman’s eyes again.

But then what?

What was supposed to happen next?

Who could tell her… what then?

Even within the Cloak of Invisibility, she couldn’t feel the slightest sense of security at the moment. This terrifying room perpetually filled her with intense unease.

The tools installed on all the women here seemed to have inexplicably wrapped around her, draining all her strength as if out of thin air.

Ann found it incredibly difficult to move her feet… as if her feet had sprouted roots, planted firmly in this room.

Suddenly, Ann heard footsteps… She instinctively turned her head, and there they were—two servants of the bloodsucker had entered.

They weren’t even considered Lower-level Vampires, just transformed once, almost the lowest labor force in the bloodsucker circle—yet even so, they were far more formidable than Ann.

Ann instinctively backed away… watching as the two bloodsuckers approached her step by step.

Heartbeats… frantic heartbeats, as if her heart was about to leap out—until she unknowingly retreated and collided with the wall, making a light sound.

“What’s that sound?”

Bloodsuckers are incredibly sensitive to sound, and at that moment, they turned toward the direction of the noise—yet clearly, the bloodsucker failed to see anything, and the one who entered with it also failed to see anything.

“Did we hear wrong…”

The two bloodsuckers looked around in confusion, eventually finding nothing, and then they began their work—collecting, feeding, and checking the health of these milk-producing individuals.

She was invisible now… watching the movements of the two bloodsuckers, Ann finally let out a sigh of relief, but she still didn’t dare move… She didn’t even dare open her eyes to look around carefully.

Women—the women confined to chairs, all their teeth had been pulled out, tubes inserted into their mouths, with all their feedings through the tubes being liquid food.

Gurgle, gurgle… gurgle.

Like an assembly line, fluid food was pumped into their mouths through tubes, entering the esophagus, emitting a faint gurgling sound… Then the two bloodsuckers activated some instruments and began extracting life essence from their bodies.

Though she had imagined what this scene would be like when she entered, only after witnessing it did Ann feel true terror.

“This one seems to be broken.”

“What do you mean seems? It’s completely broken… it’s already bleeding.”

“Oh, let’s replace it then… but don’t waste this bit of blood.”

Saying that, the two bloodsuckers directly removed the tools from the woman and started drinking the fresh blood flowing out of her… Not many bloodsuckers were willing to work here, even Lower-level Vampires—most who chose to work here were after occasional “fast food” like this.

Not like nursing… but like vultures, feasting on a corpse.

Bam—bam—!

After two consecutive light sounds, the two bloodsuckers lost strength and collapsed to the ground… Behind them, Ann’s hands were still gently trembling.

[A tranquilizer that can incapacitate an elephant].

She didn’t even know when she took out this so-called tranquilizer gun from the ring—she didn’t even realize she had quickly fired two tranquilizer darts.

Only after the two bloodsuckers lay on the ground for a while did Ann abruptly rush to the woman who was being feasted on.

Save her… save her!

Save her… Is there anything in the ring that can save her?

She frantically prayed… whether it was the cloak, gloves, or even the tranquilizer gun, they seemed to naturally emerge from the ring to meet her specific needs!

“Anything!!”

Clink… a small bottle fell to the ground.

Ann hesitated for a moment, picked up the bottle… She looked at the woman judged as “broken,” then looked at the bottle in her hand. Clenching her teeth, she forcibly pulled out the tube from the woman’s esophagus.

Even so… the woman’s gaze remained hollow, without any response—as the bloodsuckers said, she was “broken.”

Ann gritted her teeth and poured the liquid from the bottle into the woman’s mouth, but the woman had lost even the function of moving her mouth… Her lips couldn’t close on their own!

Ann’s hands trembled, pressing tightly against the woman’s mouth… Perhaps on instinct, she even hugged the woman’s slender body tightly, “Don’t die! Don’t die! Can you hear me… don’t die! Drink it! Don’t die!”

She kept speaking into the woman’s ear.

“Drink it!!” Ann gradually applied more force, her hands exerted more pressure, her voice grew louder, “Can you hear what I’m saying!! Don’t die!! Don’t die!! Come back!! Come back!!”

Gulp…

She wasn’t sure if she was hallucinating… but the woman in her arms seemed to move slightly. Concurrently, on the ring she wore, one of the gray gemstones gently flashed—a flash that quickly vanished, leaving the gray gemstone faintly shedding a thin layer of gray that was hard to discern with the naked eye.

Ann didn’t notice the change in the ring’s gemstone. She released the woman, discovering that her body began to transform slowly.

First, the dull skin began to regain its luster, followed by the restoration of muscles that had withered away, even her extracted teeth started growing bit by bit…

Until… the woman transformed back into a healthy person, her eyes regained their brilliance, and Ann finally sighed heavily, mumbling, “Thank goodness, finally…”

“…God?” The woman looked around blankly at first, then her gaze suddenly exploded with an intense longing, her voice becoming earnest, “God! God! Where are you?!”

Ann was taken aback… Then she remembered she was still wearing the Cloak of Invisibility.

She hurriedly removed the cloak, revealing her original appearance. The woman, seeing her suddenly appear out of thin air, was instantly frightened. Ann quickly said, “I’m not a god! I’m just the person who saved you… how are you feeling now?”

“God…” Though initially startled by Ann’s appearance, the woman’s gaze suddenly grew fervent again—that was a glow even more radiant than before, “God…”

“I…” Ann couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment. Just as she was about to say something, she suddenly noticed the ring on her hand flashing with a light.

After the flash of the light, the gemstone was now clearer and more transparent, no longer gray in appearance—despite it still being a long way from where it should be changing color, it had indeed lit up.

The traveling merchant had said that as long as she saved someone, it would light up the gemstone on the ring, and the more people she saved, the faster the gemstone would light up…

Ann looked at the woman in front of her, who had come back to life, even healed, but seemed mentally troubled, mistaking her for some kind of god—she didn’t waste time explaining anything to this woman but chose to immediately rescue the other women in the room.

First, she stopped the equipment in the room, and then fiddled with it for a good while before safely removing the tubes from the women’s mouths… The ring kept shedding that miraculous potion.

Ann began using this potion to restore all the women here—later she discovered that in fact, just a little bit was enough to restore a woman… Speaking of which, were there really so many of these potions on the table back then?

It always felt like what was inside the ring was far more than what the merchant had laid out at that time…

But.

“What on earth…”

Ann looked at the women who had been rescued and even restored, and couldn’t help but furrow her brows.

The gemstone on the ring did not light up because of this… not even a bit of light, in fact, the initial gleam of the first gemstone had completely faded away.

This broken ring… could it be a defective product?

Of course, this was just Ann’s wild imagination—she had long since been impressed by the ring’s capabilities… she just couldn’t figure out how to truly light up the gemstone on the ring.

“God…”

At this moment, the first woman Ann rescued suddenly spoke next to her.

Ann looked at her, and when their eyes met, she was startled by the kind of gaze this woman had… This gaze was just like the children at the Farm, when they first learned they were appointed by a bloodsucker.

Perhaps a little different… but not much.

Ann instinctively glanced at the gemstone on the ring… It seemed like the dimmed gemstone had brightened again? Although it hadn’t completely stepped out of the [gray] level.

Was it because of this kind of gaze?

Ann was stunned for a moment and pondered, “What’s your name?”

“Amanda… my god.”

Ann shook her head and said, “Alright, Amanda, I’m really not some god! I, like you and them, am also human! And also born in the Farm!”

“No!” At this moment, Amanda suddenly threw herself before Ann, looked up, and gazed at her devoutly, “You are my god… It was you who awakened me from that darkness! What I saw was light… You gave me light! You are my god!!”

With Amanda’s fanatical… even somewhat neurotic speech in Ann’s view, the gemstone on the ring lit up in an instant—this time, the brightness caused the gemstone to completely step out of the gray level.

Red… Orange… Yellow… Light Green—the first gray gemstone on the ring had finally turned light green!

Out of a total of ten gemstones… After turning light green, it was so bright!

“What on earth…”

Ann was alarmed, feeling the fervor in Amanda’s current gaze, a flash of inspiration: Not only rescuing them from crisis, but they also must all become like Amanda to truly light up the gemstone on the ring?

Ann instinctively looked around at those who had been rescued, even had their bodies restored, yet still sat unmoving and blank on the chairs, “So I have to become the god in their hearts?”

She was startled by this thought of hers, thinking it was her leftover [delusional] syndrome acting up again… Ann shook her head.

Though instinctively denied this thought, she vaguely felt that simply rescuing these women was not true salvation, at least their spirits should also be restored… Would it be considered real rescue then?

“But, how to bring back their spirits?” Ann couldn’t help but start to feel troubled again.

She looked at Amanda, who was still by her side… or rather, still kneeling on the ground, scratching her head, “Can you stand up first? I have some things I want to ask you clearly.”

“Yes… my god.” Amanda slowly stood up, but kept her head down, looking very submissive.

“You said… it was because you heard my voice?” Ann thought for a moment and asked, “Because you heard my voice, so… um, regained consciousness?”

“Yes, my god.” Amanda nodded, “It was you who saved me from the abyss of despair, gave me warmth and faith!”

Ann nodded and started to ponder.

Sound… the stimulation of language?

Ann thought for a while, then started walking towards one of the women who had been healed, yet looked dazed, and began to speak to her ear.

While talking, observing the reaction of the gemstone on the ring—but no matter what she said, the current woman didn’t react at all.

Ann found herself getting a bit irritated, waving her hand to gently pat the woman’s cheek—no reaction.

She then tried with two other different women, but still did not get the desired effect… Ann sighed, it seemed that lighting the first gemstone, even reaching the light green brightness, was really a result of some lucky fluke.

She shook her head, began to face difficulties again… This milking workshop, was only one of the sites in the Breeding Farm, there were two more similar milking workshops… And there were other functional workshops.

But here, except for Amanda, the others couldn’t move… Not to mention awakening the consciousness of these women, just taking them away was already a monumental task.

“At least give me a little more hint… Mr. traveling merchant.” Ann chuckled bitterly and muttered to herself.

But at that moment, a scream suddenly echoed in this milking workshop… It was Amanda’s voice!

It turned out, while Ann was trying to awaken the other women, the two bloodsuckers who had been shot with tranquilizer darts and lost consciousness had already woken up—the two bloodsuckers, once awake, immediately grabbed Amanda.

“Don’t move! Who are you! Why are you here!” The bloodsuckers stared at Ann intensely, revealing their fangs.

Ann couldn’t help but shiver a little… What now?
