Chapter 1399: Chapter 126: The Banquet (Part 3)
The Farm, the Breeding Farm, and the more secretive Slaughterhouse are all separated by a giant wall.
For bloodsuckers, this high wall is not an insurmountable obstacle, but for humans, it’s indeed an unbridgeable gulf.
The Farm on this side wouldn’t readily know what is happening on the other side of the wall… the same goes for the other side.
But the Inspection Group residing inside the high wall, monitoring the different farms on each side, can know immediately what happens on both sides.
Inside the wall structure, in the office of the Inspection Group facing reorganization, the Chief Inspector, having the rank of Baron, a Middle Aristocracy within the clan, was currently frowning deeply.
Managing the Farm is a position of enormous wealth— for bloodsuckers, only plentiful pure blood of the Ancients counts as true wealth.
Obviously, under any circumstance, the Chief Inspector doesn’t want to lose this position— even if promoted to the upper nobility, to become part of the completely indulgent tier, he doesn’t want to leave this Farm.
“Just a Non-Human Supervisor died, and now so much fuss… has my secret trade of pure blood been discovered…”
The Governor paced back and forth in his office irritably, even though the matter outside involving the Vampire Slayer was in an uproar, he didn’t pay much attention.
Worrying about his own power, the Governor received a sudden urgent notification from the Breeding Farm on the other side of the wall, his face instantly turning very ugly.
The notification said… at this moment, the Breeding Farm was reversed, occupied by human livestock, roughly half of the area has fallen!
Moreover, the human livestock held plenty of weapons to counter bloodsuckers— including their most hated Silver Nitrate!
Suddenly hearing this urgent report, the Chief Inspector thought he heard wrong, thinking some insensible subordinate was playing a joke on him… but when he quickly walked toward the direction facing the Breeding Farm, what he saw was clearly spreading fire!
With a structure different from the Farm Town, the Breeding Farm was completely factory-like in structure… and many factories were being devoured by flames!
In the ensuing chaos, bloodsuckers were continuously being shot down from the sky… the Chief Inspector, watching, was drenched in cold sweat, already facing a crisis of being demoted, and now if the Breeding Farm is in trouble— it’s already happened, and it’s a big issue!
Feeling as if his position was completely cold already, the Chief Inspector angrily snatched a monocular telescope from a subordinate, directly scanning down into the Breeding Farm.
There, a group who should have been locked in various facilities, who should have been bodies for cultivating the next generation, were now waving weapons gathered from who knows where, forming a ferocious army, forcing the originally stronger bloodsuckers to retreat step by step, even forcing them to hide in a warehouse!
God knows where these bodies and seed humans got these weapons capable of causing such harm to bloodsuckers?
The Chief Inspector didn’t want to think about this problem now.
All he could think was, “This is a huge disgrace!! We’ve been forced to hide by these livestock we raised?!”
For a thousand years, the deeply ingrained relationship of enslavement and being enslaved has left bloodsuckers thinking everything should be taken for granted— but one day, these slaves gained the power to resist!
“Governor! Bad news! They’ve broken through another place! The Production Farm has been breached!”
“We’re short on manpower! Request reinforcements!”
“Ah—!!”
The Chief Inspector’s face grew more and more unsightly… there weren’t many vampire members in the Inspection Group, most were naturalized adult humans— but for management convenience, these naturalized adults were not granted any powers!
They simply didn’t stand a chance against the weapons capable of harming bloodsuckers.
“These folks couldn’t possibly have gotten so many weapons without reason…” the Chief Inspector mused: “Someone here must be directing these humans… we must find them quickly! Furthermore, inform the Patrol Team immediately, we need them to send some people over!”
In the end, the Inspection Group was like the Militia, whereas the members of the Patrol Team were the clan’s Elite Soldiers… the Chief Inspector let out a sigh, the negligence already confirmed, now it’s about seeing how much he can save and make amends.
“Why revolt?” the Chief Inspector snorted, “It’s good to be livestock… seeking death! Someone, fetch my armor!”
The subordinates nodded hurriedly and left quickly.
The Chief Inspector bowed his head in contemplation… as if he suddenly made some decision, waving to summon a Messenger, hastily wrote down a message, and ordered the Messenger to deliver it.
Soon, the subordinates brought the Governor’s armor.
The Governor coldly commanded: “Deliver the order, when facing resisting livestock, apart from those already pregnant, it’s no problem to kill more males and females… especially males! Anyway, a batch of adults is about to be sent here! We have as many seeds as we want! Let these livestock see the consequences of rebellion!”
“Yes!”
…
The turn of events had already gone beyond Ann’s imagination— now, even wild fantasies couldn’t rescue her mind from being bombarded into almost a blank by the current situation.
Who knows what happened?
Ann couldn’t help but recall what she had done in this short period— from the start, after rescuing a batch of women from Amanda, she immediately went to seize the neighboring milking plant.
With previous experience, and the milking plant not being a critical facility of the Breeding Farm, the defense force was insufficient— easily defeating two milking bloodsuckers, the originally dozens-strong team suddenly broke through to triple digits.
Then, it was like a snowball— and the kind that rolled down from the mountain top, without stopping, at incredible speed.
Milking Factory, Seed Factory, Pregnancy Zone… Birthing Factory!
Ann was mechanically repeating pulling out batch after batch of weapons from the ring and handing them to newly rescued humans.
What puzzled Ann even further was… the gem on her ring was crazily illuminating— already completely lighting up five stones!
Even the sixth stone was at a blue level, almost reaching the final purple!
Granted, that merchant once mentioned, the more she saved, the faster the ring lights up— but later Ann found out it wasn’t just about rescuing those humans to truly light up the ring. She also had to awaken them, reignite their hope, have them pick up weapons to fight back.
The problem was… in the first milking plant, Ann remembered it being extremely difficult, even dying once, barely awakening those few dozen women.
But now, she hardly did anything… she really did nothing, except pulling out weapons for newly liberated humans!
“Great Goddess Ann!”
As Ann started to unintentionally drift into her wild thoughts again, Amanda strode over in battle gear…and brought a new batch of people before Ann.
This time it’s a large group of pregnant women… Ann couldn’t help but blink. They’ve reached the birthing factory already?
She stared in surprise at the pregnant women in front of her—judging by Amanda’s meaning, it seemed like she was planning to arm this group of women with big bellies?
Speaking of Amanda, Ann truly found it hard to see through her—ever since leaving the milking factory, Amanda seemed possessed. Since the takeover of the second factory till now, it practically was Amanda commanding everything!
There was always this question of whether the merchant had trusted the wrong person…and whether letting Amanda complete this task would have been better. Perhaps she was just a useless fish…and similar thoughts made Ann scratch her head, “Did you say anything to them, Amanda?”
Amanda was practically lying flat on the ground, “Goddess Ann! I have already informed them of your greatness! Successfully casting your radiance into the darkness that devoured them! From now on, they will be like me, serving Goddess Ann in everything!”
“I see…” Ann’s neck stiffly nodded.
It all felt eerily similar to a novel she’d read in the Library before, about secret cults or the like.
She stared at this group of pregnant women, wondering what exactly Amanda had indoctrinated them with before bringing them here… Although their gaze wasn’t as fervent as Amanda’s when she looked at her, it was still burning.
Ann had to clear her throat twice, thinking that it truly wasn’t feasible to involve pregnant women in battles, and she slowly said, “Amanda, could you arrange personnel to protect them? They are not suited for combat.”
“I understand, Goddess Ann!” Amanda said earnestly, “I’ve already made it clear! This time they’re merely here to pay homage to Goddess Ann! To bask in your radiance!”
—What radiance could I possibly have? The place behind me is really just red because you set it on fire…
“I see…” Ann continued to nod her head, unsure of what to say…With nothing to say, Ann simply cleared her throat and said, “Amanda, we’ve already rescued quite a few comrades. What do you plan to do next?”
Amanda looked up, and directly replied, “We have Goddess Ann! We possess weapons more powerful than these brutal bloodsuckers! So I believe that we should not only liberate the remaining areas, but also delve deeper into the Slaughterhouse, and even occupy the high walls!”
Occupying the high walls means directly facing the bloodsuckers in Farm Town…they are the clan elites, far beyond what the Inspection Group’s riffraff can compare to.
Though the ring in her hand is magical, there’s no way Ann alone, with just this ring, could overthrow the Torrido Clan’s thousand-year reign!
“And after occupying the high walls?”
“Liberate the Farm!” Amanda said seriously, “Free all of the Torrido Clan’s comrades! Finally, eradicate the Torrido Clan!”
Ann couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat, instinctively asking, “Amanda, do you really think you can defeat…Torrido?”
Amanda’s face was filled with fanaticism, “Yes! Because we have Goddess Ann! Under your radiant blessing…we fight undefeated!!”
—The glow behind me is really just the fires you all started!!
—Perhaps I should quietly slip away once the ring is fully lit…
Just then, an armed man—someone Ann couldn’t recall giving weapons to—marched in. She couldn’t even remember his name.
This was no joke, considering how many had been rescued so far, she couldn’t count them; Amanda sorted it all out just right!
“It’s bad!! It’s bad!!” The man ran in, displaying sheer panic.
Amanda quickly stood up and admonished, “Stay quiet in front of the goddess!”
The man looked instantly sheepish, then dropped to his knees, tremblingly said, “Goddess! Many of our comrades are injured or dead! The Chief Inspector of the Inspection Group acted personally! The weapons you bestowed us are useless against it!”
Ann was immediately shocked…As one who had once been a candidate for Supervisor and lived so long in the Farm, she had indeed seen the Chief Inspector of the Inspection Group several times, and knew somewhat of this Inspector’s terror.
—Better not to mess with it, it’s time to bail!
Unexpectedly, Amanda snorted coldly, “Afraid of what! We have Goddess Ann here! Mere Chief Inspector, and yet you panic!”
—How inflated is this guy’s ego?!?
Ann couldn’t help but quietly swallow, feeling a bit like she wanted to cry without tears—she knew she had resolve, after dying once she felt cursed with cowardice within her soul, which is why she could be tough when killing those two bloodsuckers.
But it’s impossible to stay tough all the time. In essence, humans are only truly brave when heated…calm down and become cowardly.
“Amanda, I think…” Ann considered, feeling necessary to correct Amanda’s fanaticism.
“Goddess!”
But Amanda suddenly shouted, almost jolting Ann out of her seat.
“Wh-What is it!”
At this moment, Amanda knelt on one knee, “Goddess Ann! I request to battle the Chief Inspector! Please goddess, bestow upon me the invincible Holy Light!!”
It’s over…Even if Amanda hadn’t mentioned it, Ann somewhat already predicted how this creature was raised before adulthood.
“Please goddess, grant me the Light of Victory!!”
Amanda shouted again!
—So, I mean to say, the glow behind me really is just the fires you all lit, okay!!
Unexpectedly, her ring began to glow magnificently, then aimed at Amanda.
Under this bask of glow, Amanda seemed to have her Essence Qi and presence rise several tiers!
This glow lingered…seemed not intending to dissipate!
Wh…what is happening?
Ann couldn’t help but stare at the ring in her hand…The brightness of the sixth gemstone fell back to its original gray.
But then, the gray began to brighten up again, turning back to red.
