Chapter 1421: Chapter 148: Golden Years

[Chapter One: Simple Person]

Action must be put into practice after the idea appears to be considered action… Mr. Gusfu quickly arrived at Mr. Dillons’ room.

But Mr. Dillons was facing some kind of trouble at that moment.

Two staff members were struggling to help Mr. Dillons try on a tailcoat… Mr. Dillons’ physique would probably give most of the world’s tailors a headache.

This was already the largest size tailcoat the hotel could provide — the two staff members were now forcefully tightening Mr. Dillons’ waist… like a tug-of-war.

“Oh… damn it! I feel like I’m being squeezed into two pieces! This garbage! I hate it so much! Am I turning into a German sausage?”

Mr. Dillons cursed loudly while suffering… When he saw Mr. Gusfu coming in, he immediately said, “Gusfu, you came at the right time! Come help me, let me end this disaster quickly!”

Mr. Gusfu had no choice but to step forward and help. After exerting a lot of effort, he barely managed to put the tailcoat on Mr. Dillons — of course, not without the buttons protesting.

Mr. Gusfu even worried whether those buttons would pop off in the next instant.

“Damn it! I’ll never wear this thing again! Really! I swear on my deceased grandmother’s honor!” Mr. Dillons cursed while panting.

…Such vows are usually not reliable.

Mr. Gusfu pretended he didn’t hear and subtly gestured for the two staff members to wait outside the room… He casually asked, “Mr. Dillons, are you planning to attend the banquet?”

“Of course! Why else would I wear this outfit!” Mr. Dillons seemed uncomfortable with the tight-fit, and his mood was clearly not lifted.

Understandingly, Mr. Gusfu smiled and said, “Mr. Dillons, is there anything else you need help with?”

“Oh, let me think…” Mr. Dillons thought for a moment, shook his head, and said, “Seems like there’s nothing more. If anything comes up, I can count on you, right? I remember the floor concierge is always at our service?”

“Yes, Mr. Dillons.”

Mr. Dillons thought a while longer and then patted Gusfu on the shoulder — his hand didn’t lift after patting, causing one of Gusfu’s shoulders to lower slightly.

He could only maintain his smile, waiting for this customer’s word.

“You’ve worked hard.” Mr. Dillons first said this, then thought for a while before adding sincerely, “But you should rest when needed, don’t tire yourself out.”

Mr. Gusfu opened his mouth, deciding it was best to keep smiling and nodding, “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Dillons… Is there anything else you need?”

“Oh… I’m still a bit hungry, prepare something to eat for me.” Mr. Dillons touched his tightly bound large belly, “Let whoever… whoever, oh, the chef make me something. I don’t want to go out now! This damned outfit is so uncomfortable.”

Mr. Gusfu felt amused yet helpless but maintained his professional smile, “I’ll arrange that for you, sir… If there’s nothing else, please allow me to leave first, as I need to assist Attorney Zieg.”

When mentioning Attorney Zieg, Mr. Gusfu seemed casual yet subtly observed Mr. Dillons’ expression.

“Oh, you go ahead, I’ll manage on my own.”

But Mr. Dillons didn’t seem to know who Attorney Zieg was at all… he didn’t even care about Gusfu’s statement of needing to serve someone else.

Didn’t he know… the floor concierge for guests in the presidential suite offers one-on-one service?

With this doubt, the matter he thought was certain suddenly became uncertain… Gusfu slowly exited the room, and before closing the door, he took a peek through the door slit.

He saw Mr. Dillons opening a small notebook, biting a pencil, pondering something… Occasionally tapping his head with the pencil, or scratching his increasingly sparse hair.

“Let me know immediately when this gentleman goes somewhere, got it.”

Before leaving, Mr. Gusfu instructed the staff waiting outside the room.

But later, Mr. Dillons didn’t leave the room until the banquet started… Mr. Gusfu heard from the staff that Mr. Dillons fell asleep after eating to his fill.

And his snoring was particularly impressive.

[Chapter Two: Gift]

In the evening, at seven-thirty… the banquet began.

The location was in the open-air lawn area of the hotel grounds, where one could enjoy the night view of the artificial lake and the overall sight of Alec Grand Hotel.

Under the lights, Alec Grand Hotel looked like a symmetrically constructed castle, as if something out of a fairy tale.

It is said that the original Alec Grand Hotel was not like this, and after several renovations, it became what it is today—all thanks to the mysterious hotel owner.

The theme of tonight’s party is: costume ball.

The guests will simply wear some decorations to cover their faces—of course, many times, simple facial masks are hard to conceal identities… Mostly it’s just for the atmosphere.

Miss Tiffany simply wore an eye patch, while Ms. Cindy donned a Venetian mask.

It was apparent that Ms. Cindy was quite resentful about her old friend choosing to attend this costume ball instead of joining her birthday party—she had prepared a bunch of young and energetic lads! What a waste!

“Hmm… What’s going on today? I seem to see quite a lot of familiar faces.” Miss Tiffany suddenly whispered in her friend’s ear.

“Really?” Ms. Cindy looked around.

Miss Tiffany pointed to two middle-aged men standing in the dining area not far away, “Those two over there, don’t they resemble George and Yelgo?”

“Who?” Ms. Cindy asked in astonishment.

Miss Tiffany shook her head, laughing, “If they find out you’ve completely forgotten them, they might cry…Forgotten? They were once your suitors.”

Ms. Cindy tried hard to recall, and finally found two blurry faces in the corner of her memory… She came back to her senses and finally remembered who George and Yelgo were.

In the restaurant of the very characterful Chef Berg, there used to be a small stage for customers’ performances. George and Yelgo were musicians responsible for the performances back then.

Ms. Cindy reminisced proudly, “Thinking back now, I was quite popular at the time… Unfortunately, time spares no one. But back then, everyone liked Pahel who played the violin… So did you.”

Miss Tiffany gave a slightly annoyed glance at this person who might be either a frenemy or a close friend.

Ms. Cindy then said: “But thinking back now, being infatuated with Pahel was really a mistake… A man who would disappear suddenly for his dreams is really lousy. And just look at them! George and Yelgo now, I can’t believe they were actually quite handsome back then. Hmm… Maybe Pahel has also turned into a greasy, overweight middle-aged man now! Trust me, dear, men don’t care about appearances after a certain age, just look at what my husband has become now!”

Miss Tiffany didn’t say anything.

Ms. Cindy was probably a carefree type; she seemed to flaunt the figure that still had some capital at this age, brushed her hair, and said, “No, I have to go say hello to George and Yelgo, and rekindle those wonderful youthful days… Tiffany, look after yourself!”

Miss Tiffany really didn’t know how to stop this person… She shook her head with a wry smile, and then took a glass of red wine from the staff’s tray, walking slowly in the open-air banquet area.

She really recognized some long-lost old faces… some former employees who used to work at the Alec Grand Hotel.

What’s going on today?

Miss Tiffany didn’t go forward to greet those she used to know like Ms. Cindy—after all, she admitted she didn’t have a thicker skin than Ms. Cindy.

Moreover… in reality, her interpersonal relationships were not very good.

Old-fashioned, strict, unsmiling… they all feared her as an uninteresting woman—even her ex-husband eventually chose to separate because of the tedious life.

Perhaps she had really been dull for most of her life?

So she began to change, no longer constantly preoccupied with work; occasionally she would read books, do some beauty treatments, try some sports, and also watch movies that seemed boring but popular.

She started showing more smiles than in the past, but when she smiled, she still gave a sense of pressure—Miss Tiffany felt she might not be able to change that.

Life is still improving, just the number of friends hasn’t increased… nor decreased.

“Miss Tiffany, you look truly beautiful tonight.”

She heard a voice calling her name, Miss Tiffany slowly turned around and saw an elderly man with gray hair, also simply wearing an eye patch; she immediately recognized his identity.

“Attorney Zieg, is that you?” She couldn’t help but be exceptionally surprised, “Why are you here?”

“I’ve been looking for you.” Attorney Zieg walked over slowly, smiling, “I heard from Mr. Gusfu that you would attend, so I’ve been keeping an eye out for your arrival.”

“Thank you.”

Miss Tiffany smiled slightly, and her quick wit soon realized that this party might have something to do with Attorney Zieg—along with these many old employees appearing.

She heard from her nephew Mr. Gusfu that the person staying in the presidential suite carried something marked with the hotel owner’s insignia… Does this mean something special is going to happen tonight?

“Miss Tiffany, happy birthday.” Attorney Zieg suddenly said, then took out a gift box from his pocket, “This is the birthday gift I prepared for you, please accept it.”

“Thank you.” Miss Tiffany did not refuse, graciously accepted it, and lightly hugged Attorney Zieg, kissing his cheek.

Attorney Zieg then joked: “Oh! I think I’m certainly being envied now.”

“Attorney Zieg is still as humorous as ever.” Miss Tiffany smiled, “But you haven’t told me why you’re here… You’re not just here to bring me a gift, right?”

She wasn’t particularly surprised by Attorney Zieg’s gift.

Attorney Zieg basically knows the birthday of every senior staff at the hotel. If time allows, he would even join the staff celebration—it’s always been like this.

In Miss Tiffany’s impression, Attorney Zieg had attended several of her birthday parties.

Of course… if it’s just ordinary staff, most of the time, it’s just a small gift with his signature; he himself would not appear.

It’s… some kind of incentive mechanism.

“I just happened to receive an invitation from an old friend.” Attorney Zieg blinked at this moment. “Then… enjoy tonight’s party, Miss Tiffany. Lastly, happy birthday.”

“Thank you.”

That being said, up until now, the host of this party still hasn’t appeared… but it seems all the guests have already arrived.

Chapter Three: Sound

This should be the time at dinner when there are the most people, but the hotel now appears quite empty… because most of the guests are attending the outdoor banquet.

Even the chefs in the restaurant, most of them have been deployed out to prepare food for the banquet.

In the corridor, a bloated figure is walking quickly… Mr. Dillons.

His lips are somewhat pale, carrying an old suitcase in one hand, and holding his waist with the other, gasping as he walks along the corridor… overslept, Mr. Dillons couldn’t help but sigh deeply, initially planning to rest a bit after eating something.

There’s something very important to do tonight, hoping not to miss it… Oh, this damn Chef Berg, why does his food taste so good?

A sudden distraction… perhaps also due to lack of exercise, Mr. Dillons suddenly feels it difficult to breathe, his heart seems to cry out like an overburdened old engine.

He feels his breath extremely uneven, a sudden dizziness even makes him lose his balance, falling down at once, the suitcase in his hand knocking out.

Only to see the suitcase roll all the way down the staircase of the hotel lobby’s second floor.

The suitcase is not like a ball, eventually falling without any damage… after the dizziness slightly subsides, Mr. Dillons gets up and clearly sees the suitcase opened after rolling down the stairs.

He is shocked, holding the handrail and quickly walking down.

Inside the suitcase, the violin and bow scattered in two places… Mr. Dillons awkwardly bends down to pick up the bow, then moves towards the violin.

But there’s already a beautiful hand that has picked up the fallen violin before he arrives… Mr. Dillons is taken aback.

“Oh, it’s you two!”

Isn’t this the couple he met several times today… Mr. Dillons looks at Boss Luo and the maid, thinking they too are probably preparing to attend the banquet outside.

The violin is currently in Luo Qiu’s hand… after picking up the violin, Boss Luo touches the back of the violin gently, then slowly turns it over, revealing the broken bridge… even two strings snapped, the head having a corner chipped off.

“What a pity.” Luo Qiu said softly… he gently lifts the violin with both hands, handing it to Mr. Dillons.

How is it possible he hasn’t noticed the violin’s condition by now?

Mr. Dillons’ face suddenly darkens slightly, standing on the spot… he continues murmuring to himself, saying things like what to do, how to resolve this, as if he’s about to faint with black eyes any moment.

Mr. Dillons finally silently accepts the violin, then slowly sighs, showing a bitter smile, “I’m really a careless fool, can’t do anything right.”

Talking to himself or telling others… probably speaking to himself.

“Is this violin very important to you, Mr. Dillons?” Boss Luo suddenly asked.

Mr. Dillons didn’t think much, and nodded, “It’s something given by a very important friend… I couldn’t take care of it.”

“What if I say, I can help restore this violin…” Luo Qiu looks into Mr. Dillons’ eyes, slowly saying: “But the price is, if you are willing to give it to me?”

Mr. Dillons was taken aback, looking in the direction pointed by the young man, finding that he pointed at a brown-covered notebook dropped on the ground… it’s his notebook, also in the suitcase, probably fell out when tumbling down.

“You want it?” Mr. Dillons looks at the young Eastern man incredulously, subconsciously asking: “Why?”

“Maybe because I like it.” Luo Qiu said with a slight smile.

The maid beside him, while her master converses with Mr. Dillons, has already retrieved the suitcase… handing it to Mr. Dillons, she casually glances at the mark on the suitcase, seemingly recalling something, her eyes slightly moving.

Mr. Dillons thinks for a moment, then shakes his head with a bitter smile: “Not to mention it’s just a notebook, if you really can help restore this violin, even double the fee isn’t a problem! Because it’s truly important to me! But even if you could fix it, it’s too late, I can’t wait that long…”

“That’s not necessarily true.” Boss Luo smiled mysteriously and then took the violin from Mr. Dillons’s hand, “Please wait a moment, Mr. Dillons.”

While Mr. Dillons was in a daze, Boss Luo walked to a corner of the hall with the violin, and soon disappeared from Mr. Dillons’s sight.

Mr. Dillons could only hold the bow in his hand, full of confusion, standing there foolishly… Only the maid was observing his demeanor, seemingly evaluating him.

In truth, he hadn’t gone far, but had just moved to the back of the stairs, where he was out of their sight… Boss Luo carefully held the already broken violin in his hands.

His palm naturally emitted a faint light, and then began gently passing over the violin from the head.

Violin head, pegs, nut…

The broken places started to repair bit by bit, even the snapped strings, exactly as so—Boss Luo closed his eyes, and finally placed the now-mended violin by his ear.

He gently plucked the new strings with his fingers.

—Gift this to you, use it to fulfill your dreams.

—You will succeed… I’m waiting for you here.

“It’s already fixed, Mr. Dillons.”

Mr. Dillons, incredulously, took the restored violin with both hands… examining it closely. He even suspected that the other party might have deliberately replaced it with a new one—but thinking of the other party’s request being merely for a notebook, it felt truly unbelievable.

Would anyone specifically buy a new violin just for a notebook?

“How did you do it?” Mr. Dillons exclaimed in admiration, looking at this magical young man from the East.

“Let’s call it… a business secret.” Boss Luo winked, and then the maid handed him the notebook, “So, according to the agreement, this notebook is mine now, Mr. Dillons.”

“Oh… okay.” Mr. Dillons nodded subconsciously, “If you like it, then take it.”

Did he really just help out so much?

Watching these two leave arm in arm, Mr. Dillons scratched his head, muttering, “Good person?”

Chapter Four: Dance With Me

Ms. Cindy twirled back… Although her expression was obscured by the mask, her demeanor loudly stated one thing—she had gained quite a lot.

Probably words of praise from her admirers in her younger days.

“Oh! Darling, have you been standing here alone all evening, sipping red wine by yourself? When did your life become so dull?”

Miss Tiffany had no desire to deal with this person at all, and pulled out a chair to sit down as she grew tired of standing.

“Aunt Tiffany… and Ms. Cindy.”

A familiar figure appeared in front of them; it was Mr. Gusfu—he walked over slowly, politely greeting the two ladies.

“Gusfu, you’re still as handsome as ever. Is your work going well?” Ms. Cindy said casually, “Tonight’s banquet is quite well done.”

Indeed, whether it was the service, the scenery, or even the atmosphere made by the orchestra, not to mention the food and drinks, there wasn’t anything to criticize—more so, Ms. Cindy relived some lovely memories of her youth.

“Thank you for your praise, Ms. Cindy.”

Miss Tiffany rubbed her temples and said, “Gusfu, hasn’t the anonymous guest who initiated this banquet appeared yet?”

“Not yet.” Mr. Gusfu shook his head confusedly, “We can’t even contact this guest… he only mentioned that he would appear at the banquet, that’s all. If the fees hadn’t been paid in advance, I’d even suspect this was some kind of prank.”

“There are strange people everywhere nowadays,” Ms. Cindy shrugged, sharing her view.

Miss Tiffany suddenly became curious and asked, “About the Mr. Dillons you mentioned this afternoon, have you seen him?”

After all, there’s a chance he might be related to the Alec Grand Hotel’s owner behind the scenes, and since Miss Tiffany has always served as a butler at Alec Grand Hotel, she naturally felt somewhat curious—the main reason she came tonight was due to this Mr. Dillons.

Ms. Cindy looked very curious about who this Dillons actually was—but the aunt and niece evidently didn’t pay any attention to her curiosity at that moment.

Mr. Gusfu shook his head: “Haven’t seen him yet.”

Miss Tiffany slowly exhaled and said gently, “If I didn’t see it, then so be it… Gusfu, I’m a bit tired today and would like to head back early for some rest. I’ll end my vacation tomorrow and return to work.”

“Aunt Tiffany, but today is only your first day of vacation?” Mr. Gusfu couldn’t help but pause.

Miss Tiffany shook her head, “There’s nothing much to do on vacation… Work is more interesting. I’m not at an age where I can do nothing.”

Ms. Cindy felt deeply offended by these words… If not for the sake of decades of friendship, she would have long ignored her. She sat down angrily, muttering under her breath.

Miss Tiffany acted as if she hadn’t heard anything and started to find her way to leave the banquet hall.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed, stopping Miss Tiffany in her tracks… The sudden change also made the hall quiet down unexpectedly.

Then the lights began to change, converging and finally intertwining at the orchestra’s performance spot.

Under the lights, a bloated figure was struggling to walk up the temporarily constructed stage.

But his figure was extraordinarily large… This should be quite eye-catching, had it been a handsome gentleman.

The bloated man wore a fake mustache and a fake large nose, giving a rather comical impression—even when this man walked up to the microphone, the tight buttons on his suit finally couldn’t hold and popped open.

Oh, the banquet hall instantly erupted in continuous laughter.

This was likely a special performance to delight the guests… like a clown act.

“Isn’t that Mr. Dillons?” Mr. Gusfu couldn’t help but open his mouth upon seeing this scene from the audience… He really didn’t know why this presidential suite guest would suddenly go up on stage.

Moreover, seeing Mr. Dillons holding a violin at the moment, does he intend to perform on stage?

“Why did Mr. Dillons go up there, can anyone tell me?” Mr. Gusfu hurriedly pulled a nearby staff member to inquire.

“I don’t know either…”

Mr. Gusfu frowned, instinctively looking for Attorney Zieg, only to see that the attorney was intently watching the stage with a faint smirk.

This made Mr. Gusfu more puzzled… Yet, he couldn’t delve further into it, as Mr. Dillons on stage was already making his move.

He gently placed the bow on the strings… Clearly intending to play it.

The guests below quieted down, somewhat anticipating what kind of performance this man, who brought laughter upon his entry, would make next.

Miss Tiffany just quietly watched… Mr. Dillons’s violin.

That violin… She recognized it at first glance—a unique item acquired from others.

She had even regretted it, suffered through it… Now, she had nearly forgotten.

——Gift it to you, use it to pursue your dream.

——You will succeed… I will wait for you here.

She walked gently from the crowd toward the stage.

The sound… with just a few notes of the prelude, people already recognized what this bloated Mr. Dillons intended to play: Canon in D-Major.

But Mr. Dillons’s technique was truly poor.

He’s hardly even an amateur; the intermittent sound of the violin made the performance quite eccentric.

Even the originally invited orchestra… and conductor couldn’t effectively accompany this gentleman’s current violin skills.

It appeared quite disastrous… people began murmuring, thinking such a performance might ruin the banquet.

Unexpectedly, several guests wearing masks suddenly walked onto the stage… No one knows if they did this spontaneously or were pre-arranged.

These guests each carried different instruments, among them were George and Yelgo, who recently helped Ms. Cindy relive young memories.

Curiously, the orchestra invited by Mr. Gusfu couldn’t accommodate Mr. Dillons’s clumsy skill, yet these guests naturally caught his tempo, slowly playing their instruments.

Despite the blend of sounds still being intermittent, occasionally halting… even missing notes.

Mr. Gusfu listened and frowned… If Mr. Dillons wasn’t a guest in the presidential suite, if he didn’t suspect some connection between him and the hotel’s behind-the-scenes owner… Too many ifs making him endure.

Next to him, Ms. Cindy seemed somewhat enchanted, occasionally laughing… She likely remembered some past events.

The crowd suddenly began to part somewhat… Seemingly spontaneously, guests slowly stepped back, forming a semicircular space.

Gusfu saw Aunt Tiffany standing in the vacant space… She stood alone there, eyes closed at some point.

He intended to call out to her, but she extended her hand slowly at that moment.

Her right hand reached out as if touching someone’s palm. Her left hand also lifted, seeming to fall on someone’s shoulder… She didn’t appear to be alone.

She began to gently move her body, following the stage’s group who rallied together a flawed Canon in D-Major.

The moonlight tonight was just right.

As if someone’s silhouette emerged and vanished in front of everyone, appearing and disappearing, existing but absent.

“I think I saw Pahel?” Ms. Cindy rubbed her eyes.

When she looked again, she saw nothing… Only her friend dancing alone there.

Perhaps she should be stopped, as her behavior was recklessly impulsive… But why stop her?

This was a side of Tiffany she’d never seen, a living embodiment of a dream-bearing girl, wasn’t it?

Moreover, no one said anything.

In this clumsy performance and solitary dance at the banquet, something flowed through everyone’s hearts, rendering everything quiet.

The moonlight gradually became tender.

Far off, outside the crowd on the artificial lake’s beach below the banquet hall, the maid removed her shoes and stepped on the white sand.

Luo Qiu did the same.

He gently embraced her waist, dancing the waltz there.

[Chapter Five: Happy Birthday]

Tiffany gradually slowed down, finally posing to finish her dance… Her eyes remained closed, as if immersed in some residual echo.

Mr. Dillons’s clumsy performance was also over.

It had actually stopped for quite a while, about a few minutes.

Finally, Miss Tiffany slowly opened her eyes… Her gaze was hazy, as if she saw a figure fading away into the night.

When she closed her eyes, he came with the start of Canon in D-Major.

When she opened them, he left with the end of Canon in D-Major.

Only she remained here.

Miss Tiffany suddenly felt a sense of unspeakable relief, she didn’t feel embarrassed by her abnormal behavior, she gently exhaled and then gazed at the bloated man on stage.

According to Gusfu’s description, she thought this must be Mr. Dillons… But she still couldn’t recall who exactly Mr. Dillons was—despite having some guesses he might be here for her.

As if sensing Miss Tiffany’s gaze.

Mr. Dillons took some effort at this moment, retrieving a piece of paper from his pocket, he looked at it, walked to the microphone, and gently read:

——I wish you eternal youth and happiness.

——I hope you can walk out of the shadows of life.

——All love is contained here.

The sound reached everyone’s ears and hearts.

Miss Tiffany slightly opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but the guests suddenly swarmed around her.

They all shouted loudly, “Tiffany! Happy Birthday!”

“Happy Birthday!”

“Long time no see, do you remember me? Tiffany, Happy Birthday!”

“You’re just as beautiful as ever! Tiffany! I truly regret not pursuing you back then! Happy birthday!”

She was almost drowned in the sounds of blessings from the crowd, looking at those familiar faces as the masks came off… the faces of those elder employees who once worked here.

Miss Tiffany suddenly found herself at a loss.

At that moment, Attorney Zieg slowly emerged from the crowd, pushing a cake, and approached Miss Tiffany. “Happy birthday, dear Tiffany. I hope you’ll enjoy this birthday party I prepared for you.”

Miss Tiffany was startled at first, then she seemed relieved… Of course, it turned out this was prepared by Attorney Zieg—only Attorney Zieg could have the means to invite back so many of the former employees from various places.

Ms. Cindy also wriggled in from the crowd, looking at her friend with a hint of complaint. Clearly, she had no idea about all this, and now found herself helpless, “No wonder you declined my birthday bash for you, so that’s why.”

She truly cherished this decades-long friendship, hugging her cheerful companion tightly, looking at everyone around… Turning fifty-five, her birthday was indeed wonderfully celebrated.

Miss Tiffany kept on smiling, accepting everyone’s blessings… She searched through the crowd, looking for the plump outline of the man who played the violin.

But he was no longer there, having left without anyone noticing.

Perhaps later on, she would go seek out this mysterious Mr. Dillons and ask him about the violin… it was something she always cared about.

[Chapter Six: Golden Years]

Fulfillment and happiness… Perhaps they come in such a simple way.

A fifty-five-year-old woman appears to not want too much… she now has no husband, never had children of her own, and has been living single for five years.

Life is dull, but a little bit of decoration makes it incredibly beautiful.

Miss Tiffany thought she might sleep soundly tonight—although before that, she wanted to meet Mr. Dillons once more.

“Already checked out?”

“Yes, Miss Tiffany. This is something the gentleman said should be passed on to you when he left.”

On the floor, the valet handed an old leather case to Miss Tiffany before leaving.

She caught a glimpse of it and saw the mark that Mr. Gusfu mentioned.

Miss Tiffany pondered for a moment, then gently opened the case and took out the hidden violin with both hands.

There was also a bow.

She walked to the window, gazing at the misty view outside… Below, she seemed to see someone again.

Someone waved at her. After waving back, this someone slowly turned around, kept walking, walked far away, and eventually disappeared.

Miss Tiffany stared blankly for a while, then hugged the violin and bow tightly to herself, closing her eyes and softly humming Canon in D Major.

Today was indeed a dreamlike and wonderful day.

He… Today marked the closure here.

Mr. Dillons was walking alone on the road, occasionally looking back at the miraculous beauty of the Alec Grand Hotel behind him.

Lately, he finally ran into the club owner and maid duo, returning from the artificial lake beach.

The maid was still barefoot, with her shoes dangling from her fingers.

Arm in arm, they seemed to whisper softly… Upon seeing Mr. Dillons alone, Luo Qiu greeted him proactively.

“Good evening, Mr. Dillons.”

“To you as well,” Mr. Dillons laughed heartily, “You were a tremendous help earlier! Otherwise, I’d have messed everything up! If you ever visit Halstatt, do reach out to me! I’ll be sure to take great care of you! Oh, let me give you my contact information.”

Suddenly slapping his forehead, Mr. Dillons began patting his clothes but failed to produce any paper or pen, and the luggage he held was actually empty.

“Here, write it down,” Luo Qiu smiled slightly, producing the notebook he got from Mr. Dillons and a pen.

Mr. Dillons promptly jotted down his contact and address in the notebook.

“Mr. Dillons, are you leaving now?”

He nodded, “Yes, I have a flight to catch early tomorrow morning… I have to return to work by Monday. I came here behind my wife’s back, and if I don’t return on time, trust me! She wouldn’t let me sleep on the bed! That’d be too tragic!”

The maid giggled, instantly captivating.

Unable to resist a bit of awe, Mr. Dillons thought to himself, “This young man is truly blessed by the galaxy.”

Luo Qiu suddenly asked, “May I ask you something, Mr. Dillons?”

“Of course, go ahead.”

Luo Qiu looked at the notebook and pondered, “Why did the words you spoke on stage differ from those written here?”

Mr. Dillons paused, then contemplated, “Hmm… It just felt better this way? Besides, I’d always end up messing things up anyway.”

Luo Qiu simply nodded with a smile and then quietly remarked, “It was nice to meet you, Mr. Dillons… I wish you a pleasant journey.”

“Well then.”

Still as straightforward as ever, Mr. Dillons bid farewell and departed without lingering… though he failed to see Luo Qiu bow gently to him from behind.

Waiting long for a bus that never came at the Alec Grand Hotel’s station, and watching the service hours fade away, Mr. Dillons grew somewhat troubled.

Maybe he should ask the hotel front desk for a taxi, but Mr. Dillons pat his pocket and was dismayed to find… he was broke.

He was completely out of money—for he had spent most of it on this trip, even using all his private savings… and even a two-month salary advance from his boss.

Suddenly, he deeply regretted it, nearly blacking out. How was he supposed to explain to his wife?

Unexpectedly, as a private car approached him and stopped, a lavishly dressed elderly black man within waved to him.

“Hello, Mr. Dillons…” the elderly man invited Mr. Dillons into the car, seeing Mr. Dillons’ confusion, he smiled and said, “First, let me introduce myself, my name is Zieg… I’m a lawyer appointed by Pahel, handling his estate affairs… Among his inheritance, there’s a portion specifically meant for you, Mr. Dillons.”

Mr. Dillons blinked, then scratched his head in confusion, “A lawyer? For Pahel? That guy owes me half a year’s rent and still has an estate… other than a dog?”

“Yet even so, you were willing to help fulfill his last wish, weren’t you… traveling all the way here from distant Austria, now broke.”

Attorney Zieg smiled gently, “I believe during Pahel’s last days, he’d feel tremendously proud to have a friend like you… Trust me, Mr. Dillons, this inheritance is rightfully yours. Your kindness and reliability passed Pahel’s test, and in the end, you even… did better. Thus, Mr. Dillons, you’ll receive Pahel’s 40 million euro estate.”

“Holy… how much?!!”

Mr. Dillons jumped up, bumping his head against the car roof, loudly shouting… It really hurt.

[Chapter Seven: All the Love is Here]

Back in the room, Luo Qiu, in a good mood, opened a bottle of red wine with the maid on the terrace, enjoying the cool breeze.

He opened Mr. Dillons’ notebook, page by page, reviewing.

It contained all plans for this trip, each one listed very clearly—finally, a checklist for the tasks he needed to complete.

“Today, I picked up something good,” Luo Qiu said with satisfaction.

The maid took the notebook from her master and flipped to the front… where there was writing different from Mr. Dillons’ handwriting.

Softly, she read out the passage:

——I hope you know I’ve never given up on our dreams.

——When you were lonely and sad, you couldn’t get any help or comfort from me.

——For this, I feel deeply saddened.

——All the love is contained here.

Someone silently loves you, and he/she, maybe has already gone far away.
