[Wonderwall].

Inside the dimly lit bar with red brick walls and black floors, the music playing didn’t sound particularly loud… it felt comfortable.

Luo Qiu actually hasn’t entered bars that many times… but it seems to be more than Teacher Prin — at least it appears so to outsiders.

Teacher Prin was observing everything inside with great interest, holding a glass in both hands, his head and body swaying slightly to the rhythm of the music… the foam in the beer had already dissipated by half.

“Not as good as it feels.” Luo Qiu suddenly said.

Teacher Prin shrugged and replied, “It’s strange, you always speak as if not asking the person… though it’s indeed a question and always makes people want to answer. You have a very special ability, or… power.”

Boss Luo smiled, picking up the lemon slice sent by the bartender and rubbing it around the rim of the glass… if the maid was here, this would probably be what she would directly do — constantly thinking about You Ye’s existence.

Luo Qiu couldn’t help but realize the terrifying aspect of this habit… it’s not a bad thing, this feeling of longing.

“The teacher has it too.” Luo Qiu said softly, “After coming in, it’s distinctly quieter here… the voices of their conversations unknowingly softened.”

It was indeed so, since they came in, the voices of the drinkers’ conversations had unknowingly lowered decibel by decibel — even the songs played by the resident singer became softer… hmm, at least the metallic tone was reduced somewhat.

Teacher Prin finally answered the initial question, nodding, “Indeed, it doesn’t feel as expected.”

Boss Luo suddenly asked, “Is this really the first time the teacher enters a bar? Students said that you’ve been working at the Theology Institute for half a year.”

Using a more definite questioning tone… noticing this, Teacher Prin rotated the chair towards the new students of the Theology Institute, winked, and said, “If I say, I’ve never been to such places, or any other adult entertainment places, would you believe it?”

He seemed to be at least in his thirties — this age, in the trendier country of Britain, a man who has never been to adult places… places like bars, could probably be classified as a national treasure?

“Why not.” Boss Luo smiled slightly.

Teacher Pru looked at him, speaking earnestly, “If I say, these places seem to have a magical force, invisibly, guiding me, prohibiting me from entering… would you believe it.”

Luo Qiu was noncommittal but spoke of the morning’s events, “Like I said it wasn’t so easy to encounter monsters… and immediately, a Siren appeared, who can accurately explain these things.”

“Talking with you is really interesting.” Teacher Prin shook his head, then pushed the beer glass away… he actually hadn’t had a sip, and then directly ordered a juice from the bartender, “But obviously, chatting with me might seem boring to you… because I clearly have few common topics with the younger generation, you can never imagine how dull my private life is.”

“Since you mentioned dullness…” Luo Qiu interestingly glanced at Teacher Prin, “it means there’s a desire for change.”

Teacher Prin shook his head, “I seem to want to keep it this way… perhaps I have something unknown even to myself, waiting. I’ll tell you a secret, treat it as a return favor for inviting me here.”

“I’m deeply honored.”

“I’ve had this feeling of waiting for something since I was young.” Teacher Prin earnestly said, “Like a mission… I occasionally can feel it, like it’s my destiny.”

“Does the teacher agree with fatalism?”

“We study it, initially wanting to find abundant arguments against it.” Teacher Prin thought for a moment, “But you’ll find that many people in this process get eroded by destiny… feel the terrifying side of destiny.”

Luo Qiu said, “This clearly isn’t a viewpoint a theology tutor should have… Theology is science, I remember there’s such a slogan in the academy hallway.”

Teacher Prin looked deeply at Luo Qiu, “If we’re like those drinking and chatting here… what’s your purpose of coming here?”

Luo Qiu curiously asked, “Is the teacher the manager here… or planning to become the manager here?”

Teacher Prin shrugged, “Such things are not suitable for me… originally this country has management roles like the Knight Agency, actually, our academy has a branch of this agency, but it’s not something you encounter daily — after all, this school still has quite a few students with family backgrounds.”

On the first day of admission, while handling procedures, Boss Luo already felt the presence of an inner border… of course, this inner border’s power won’t be too strong, at most it can resist something like the things Ghost Nero spews.

“Teacher has contact with them?”

“No.” Teacher Prin shook his head, “They don’t know me… those few knights in the academy currently can’t sense me — like they can’t feel you either. Actually, at the beginning, I almost overlooked this point… your existence, sometimes, you’re a special individual who can completely control your own life.”

Boss Luo joked, “One’s own life is originally to be controlled by oneself.”

Teacher Prin shook his head, then looked toward the dim place in the bar, where a man had fallen asleep at a table… Teacher Prin tapped the table lightly with his finger, then beckoned with his finger.

A marvelous scene unfolded… A shadow, unexpectedly pulled out from behind the sleeping man by something, drifted toward Teacher Prin and Boss Luo.

A dark green line connected the shadow and the man — yet strangely, the crowd in the bar seemed to ignore this spectacle, or perhaps they simply couldn’t see the extraordinary event.

The shadow finally floated to the side of Teacher Prin… It hung its head, asleep-like, and upon a closer look, surprisingly resembled the man.

“This is his life line, this is his soul.” Teacher Prin stated indifferently, “I can see that line, and I can sever it… In theory, anything alive that I can see this life line of, I can kill. But not you, I can’t see yours.”

Boss Luo was not surprised by Teacher Prin’s ability — at least, Teacher Prin himself was quite puzzled… whether this calmness was a forced effect.

“After the life line is severed, will you take away this person’s soul?” Luo Qiu asked lightly, “As the source of your power?”

“I will take it away.” Teacher Prin revealed a surprised expression, then pondered, “I can send them away, but where they go, I’m not clear myself… Indeed, even though the destination is unknown to me, it can indeed make my power gradually grow.”

Boss Luo thought for a moment, “According to this theory, if all the life lines in the world could be severed by you, with their souls taken away… Have you imagined the extent of your growth?”

Teacher Prin, however, was taken aback, curious, “Why would I do such a thing?”

Boss Luo casually laughed, “Don’t you think this ability exists to do such things… Didn’t you just mention… your destiny.”

Teacher Prin frowned, looking strangely at this Theology Institute newcomer, shaking his head, “I suddenly thought, if someday this world meets its end because of me… You might be the one who brings it about.”

“Perhaps the world is stronger than you imagine.” Boss Luo smiled, then indulged in a bit of mischief, jokingly, “Have you read the comic about a Gorilla Warrior that transforms into a Golden Warrior?”

“The one called Goku?” Teacher Prin responded in surprise, puzzled about why this freshman suddenly mentioned it.

Luo Qiu nodded, “See, even such frighteningly powerful aliens, Earth still lives resiliently.”

Teacher Prin was momentarily startled, then laughed… His laughter was entirely unlike a person of his age, resembling a child’s, eyes reflecting a profound curiosity for new things.

“The world is strong…” His laughter ceased appropriately, murmuring these words, then nodded earnestly, “Honestly, I also think the world is better off bustling… If all one sees is lifeless cold death, it’s not good.”

“Thank you.” Boss Luo smiled, “Thank you for not making me the culprit bringing about the end of the world.”

“I can only drink this.” Teacher Prin raised his glass of juice, lightly clinking it with Boss Luo’s glass, “It’s nice to meet you… as friends.”

Friends… To Luo Qiu, it seemed a very distant concept.

After careful consideration, he smiled… and picked up his glass.

Teacher Prin quietly said, “I prefer your current smile… Pay attention at school, I don’t want your female classmates becoming distracted during class.”

Luo Qiu pretended not to hear, curiously asking, “Don’t you think telling me your ability… even displaying it in front of me, is quite dangerous?”

Teacher Prin puzzled, “Why consider it dangerous?”

Luo Qiu replied casually, “Probably because no one likes exposing their secrets.”

Teacher Prin said, “Possessing power isn’t particularly secretive… Rather, it’s often a source of pain. I wish for someone to share it with. Aren’t secrecy’s loneliness, anxiety, and suspicion more tormenting than exposing dangerous secrets?”

Boss Luo paused, then lightly nodded.

Teacher Prin added, “Of course… even if exposed, choose someone trustworthy.”

Boss Luo asked, “Do you believe I’m someone trustworthy?”

Teacher Prin shrugged, “I can’t be certain… but your ability seems to imply so—perhaps not, which might be better. If it can influence my thoughts, even without knowing my ability, you have means to counter me, potentially endanger me—thus, knowing or not may make no difference. Whether I guard my secret or not, it holds little importance. Why guard it?”

“Even if you want my confession, I didn’t plan to share my matters with you?” Luo Qiu calmly replied.

Teacher Prin chuckled, “As a teacher, guiding students often starts with hard work… After all, the teacher should be the proactive party.”

Luo Qiu closed his eyes, his palm suddenly revealing a black card… It began deftly flipping between his fingers like a magician with cards.

Teacher Prin watched with interest, unclear what the freshman intended—the black card’s emergence wasn’t astonishing, since he knew from the start the freshman wasn’t ordinary, so minor tricks weren’t surprising.

However, unconcerned about the black card, Teacher Prin overlooked one detail: the black card’s symbol incessantly shifted between one and four—like an unknown variable, difficult to define.

Finally, the black card stopped turning between Boss Luo’s fingers… Luo Qiu glanced at the card’s symbol facing him, smiling slightly, he then looked at Teacher Prin, “I plan to give you something, but for now I’m unsure if I should.”

Teacher Prin paused, then laughed, “Then keep it for now, when you feel like giving it, I’ll take it without worry.”

“Alright.” Boss Luo nodded directly, his palm flipping the black card vanished… He picked up the glass before him, becoming proactive, clinking it with Teacher Prin’s juice, softly saying, “Hope I won’t have occasion to give out this gift.”

“You’re indeed an odd student.” Teacher Prin shook his head, laughing heartily.
