Chapter 1597: Chapter 324: Feminist Fist

After a night of rest.

In the room, black armor started to detach piece by piece from Lamias’s collar and gradually contracted back towards the nape, leaving only a small, fingernail-sized object attached to the nape.

She reached out to touch her abdomen and rib area, revealing a hint of relief on her face—but soon it turned into solemnity.

“The armor has indeed self-repaired completely, and thanks to Eve’s surgery, the healing magic technique embedded in the armor has nearly restored me with just one use—I’m ready for high-intensity combat at any time now. However…”

However, she had already attacked Father Strala once, and judging by the situation, the Holy Church will certainly ramp up defenses… The exposure of the Field of Corruption of the Reversed Holy Relic means dealing with Vasco the Paladin next time won’t be as easy.

Of course, Lamias didn’t think that Vasco could develop a countermeasure against the Field of Corruption in such a short time… She still had some leeway—a brief period before the main forces of the Holy Church arrive.

Actually, she had hoped for immediate success but could never have anticipated that Father Strala was completely unaffected by the Field of Corruption.

“Could it be that Strala’s divine power is mutated, thus immune to the field’s invasion?”

Lamias’s mind raced—if this guess was closer to the truth, it might also explain why Strala’s quality of divine power was so high, reputedly the best in the entire Holy Church.

This time, the attempt to capture Strala had been exposed—assuredly the Holy Church will conduct a thorough internal investigation—since Father Strala’s seclusion in this coastal town is a highly classified Holy Church secret known to very few.

“If this capture is successful, that’s fine—if it fails… then all the painstaking efforts of placing infiltrators into the Holy Church over the years could be exposed easily. Once the infiltrators are exposed, the losses would be incalculable, and I would certainly be to blame… There’s likely no one left to speak up for me—and it’s only a matter of time before I’m sent to Master Plaid.”

Actually, if Master Plaid were a bit more normal, even if Lamias had to submit herself willingly, she wouldn’t be too resistant—for the Western World has always been quite liberal in matters between genders, not to mention the Black Religious Congregation being an inverted cross and inherently different from the Holy Church’s approach to purity.

They value inner purity, believing the defilement of the flesh would be sublimated internally, purified in an instant of soul baptism.

Thus, Lamias wasn’t opposed to such donation acts—however, Master Plaid was a person with extremely twisted psychology and sadistic tendencies.

She clearly knew how those girls, completely stripped of human qualifications, were sent out and then discarded… Submitting to a powerful being wasn’t an issue—but either way, with someone like this young mansion’s owner possessing gentle manners—even if it meant diving into the abyss, would she willingly jump down?

At this moment, Eve brought in some breakfast and knocked on the door to enter.

“You seem quite spirited, Ms. Lamias.”

“Thanks to your exquisite surgical skills, Ms. Eve.” Lamias smiled slightly, not caring about yesterday’s incident of pulling the gun on Eve and shooting.

“I’m merely following my master’s orders.” Eve said indifferently, then set the breakfast down and looked as though she was about to leave.

Lamias suddenly spoke: “Ms. Eve, as such an outstanding woman, why would you willingly serve here, attending to men?”

Lamias was quite familiar with the maid profession—a number of wealthy households around the world employ maids, and many of these maids must attend to the master’s needs beyond daily life.

Ordinary people would bow to the power of money—it’s common practice—but considering she’s a Non-Human entity, she’s hardly likely to bow down for mere money.

Lamias could see that Eve was genuinely humble—and as a woman herself, Lamias felt an almost instinctual resistance to this kind of humbleness.

“You don’t know the master’s greatness.” Eve turned back, slightly shaking her head and said, “His existence transcends any limit of cognition you could have—to serve the master is my sole honor.”

Lamias opened her mouth, her resistance growing stronger—but as she still had something to ask from the master, she had to suppress her peculiar sentiments.

“We should live for ourselves.” She said firmly, “No one has the right to dominate us!”

Eve’s eyes suddenly flickered slightly, yet she said indifferently: “One day, when you are able to be dominated by the master, you will understand your ignorance now. Unfortunately, given your current situation, the possibility of you being dominated by him is nearly zero.”

Listening to this, Lamias began to feel uneasy… This Non-Human called Eve seemed to be brainwashed beyond recovery—how could she sound as if being dominated is the correct choice?

Shaking her head, Lamias instantly lost interest in debating with Eve… One can never wake someone pretending to sleep—perhaps only when she realizes her mansion’s owner she worships like a God is also vulnerable, can be injured, can die, and cowers before more powerful beings will she truly awaken.

“I’ve pretty much recovered.” With this in mind, Lamias spoke decisively: “Per the agreement made last night with your master, I wish to act tonight—inform him about it… Six o’clock in the evening, we’ll meet at the town plaza—I have some things to take care of first.”

With those words, Lamias turned directly out of the door and left the mansion.

She wasn’t afraid that the other would fail to show up—as for this sort of worrylessness… there’s even a mystical feeling of confidence.

That guy disregards even treasures such as the Reversed Holy Relic—surely he will not break his promise… or so she thought.

…

…

In the town, at the church.

The ruin-like dwelling place from yesterday was rebuilt anew overnight—aside from the paint still not dried, everything was practically perfect.

Such efficiency was largely thanks to the tireless efforts of four robust Holy Knight Reservists—who, of course, were unpaid, and even had to supply their own materials.

“Strala, it’s about time you spoke.”

In the newly organized backyard of the church, Father Strala, sunbathing on a deck chair while petting a cat, was greeted by Vasco’s shadow.

“What should I say?” Father knowingly asked.

The veteran Paladin held back his anger and said, “What’s with your divine power? Why is your divine power unaffected by the Reversed Holy Relic?”

“Because I’m quite resilient.” Father seriously replied, “Over the years, I’ve been exercising daily! Ten years ago, I came here as a traveler, learned an amazing exercise method called the Pure Yang Maiden Art from an eastern monk. As long as you hang a ten-kilogram weight on your brother three times a day, half an hour each time, you’ll definitely benefit within half a year! So don’t look at my age now, I’m still standing firm every day!”

Really want to smack this nonsense-talking bastard… but we’re about evenly matched, and if we really fight, it’s hard to say who wins — but in the Field of Corruption, I’d undoubtedly lose, right?

This gave Vasco a vague worry, indescribable and unclear.

“Alright, if you don’t want to say, I won’t force you now.” Vasco sighed… Although he had many doubts, he was on-site when Strala unleashed his divine power; Strala’s divine power was impossibly pure, which dispelled Vasco’s suspicion of Strala’s potential fall from grace.

“But from now on, you can’t step out of the church even half a step.” Vasco solemnly said, “If necessary, I might forcibly take you back to the Holy Church headquarters! The Black Religious Congregation’s target is you, we can’t leave you here, waiting for them to deal with you anytime!”

Sigh—

Snoring sounds, the priest had already fallen into a deep sleep under the sun umbrella.

Vasco had no choice but to shake his head and leave with a face full of irritation.

…

Just when Vasco Paladin was restless in the room, a Reserve Paladin hurriedly arrived, bringing news that left all the Holy Church visitors shocked and uncertain.

“What? The Twelve Knights of the Knight Agency are here? And they’re outside?”

“Yes…” said the Reserve Paladin who came to notify, his expression tense, “It seems to be the Clown Knight…”

“Clown Knight, Dagonet…?” Vasco pondered for a moment, then nodded, “I, I’ll go meet the Twelve Knights of Britannia!”

The Holy Church’s Paladins and the Twelve Knights of the Round Table have always been a topic often discussed together in the Non-Human world… always about which side is stronger, which side’s achievements are more remarkable, and so on.

It’s usually a seventy-thirty split in discussions, with the Holy Church traditionally having the upper hand — until a hundred years ago when Farael suddenly emerged in Britannia, directly taking the title of the strongest knight.

Therefore, Vasco could never have a kind face in front of Dagonet; probably not even in his next life.

“Oh, Sir Vasco, long time no see.” Dagonet greeted the unfriendly-faced Vasco like a refined gentleman, “The last time we parted at the Holy City of the Holy Church was three years ago, and Sir Vasco, you still remain as impressive! I’ve heard the Holy Church Paladins often use a certain divine oil to coat their bodies in training, which enhances physical endurance and combat stamina, and now it seems true indeed… When could you spare me a few dozen kilograms? My back hasn’t been quite right lately.”

The Holy Church Paladin Camp indeed uses a special oil to coat the Reserve Paladins for physical training, but as Vasco listened, it felt as if something righteous suddenly turned inappropriate, thus he coldly snorted, “What are you here for, Clown of Britannia?”

Mr. Clown at this moment blinked, and like an aggrieved little wife, said quietly, “Sir Vasco, this is still Britannia’s land, after all, you’re now bringing a few Reserve Paladins unreported and secretly landing in our country… As the security officer, couldn’t I even ask a question now? This won’t do, one must be fair, should I sneak to the Holy City someday too?”

“If you dare to come, don’t expect to return.” Vasco sneered.

Farael’s strength is indeed immense, although Vasco doesn’t say it aloud, he’s clearly aware… but only Farael is strong!

Without Farael, the Knight Agency of Britannia is like a bird without wings. Now, the agency is weak, most of the Twelve Round Table are trainees trained in the past decade with insufficient foundation, the Holy Church does not see them as a threat outside of maintaining surface courtesy.

The church has long infiltrated Britannia’s land with its influence.

“Then I won’t go.” The Clown Knight retracted his neck and said, “After all, the pension here isn’t high, no need to undertake a heroic sacrifice.”

What a scoundrel like Strala!

Vasco was stunned for a moment, then calmly said, “I’m just touring various countries with a few Reserve Paladins, training them… Passing by here, unexpectedly discovering sinners of the Black Religious Congregation, resulted in some conflict. But we’ll handle it ourselves, no need to trouble the Knight Agency. Rest assured, after handling matters here, we’ll leave.”

“That’s just perfect!” Dagonet suddenly said with a smiling face, “Seems like my luck isn’t bad… I was on business here to investigate the Black Religious Congregation too. Just perfect that Sir Vasco, you’re here to deal with the gang… I’m clinging to the Holy Church’s thigh! I’ll stay here tonight!”

“What, you want to stay here?”

“Yes indeed! I’ve brought my luggage!” Mr. Clown pointed to the suitcase behind him, “I’ve always admired the culture of the Holy Church… By the way, I’ve heard the Holy Church has great welfare, joining as a Reserve Paladin even has female college students accompanying for studies, is it true? If so, I’ll apply as a foreign student! Sir Vasco, would you be interested in escorting me back? Actually, my grandmother’s cousin is a devout believer, I have faith too!”

Good grief!

Is this truly one of the Twelve Knights who uphold the chivalric virtues of the Round Table?

Why did this guy appear so solemn when the Britannia Queen visited the Holy City on a state visit three years ago?

“Sir Vasco?”

Seeing this highly interested Knight Inspector of the Twelve Knights walking towards the church, the few Reserve Paladins were unsure whether to block or not, looking troubled.

Vasco furrowed his brows, thought for a moment, and said, “Go, find him a room… After all, this is Britannia’s territory, we have to give some face.”

“Alright! I’ll do it right away!” The young Reserve Paladin nodded.
