Chapter 1656: Chapter 6: Upcoming Journey: Undersea City
Chapter 1656: Chapter 6: Upcoming Journey: Undersea City
A new day has arrived, but the town remains desolate, and people have yet to return to their normal lives. At all entrances to the town, British soldiers are stationed as guards… the town has effectively been completely locked down.
An investigation into the town’s residents is still ongoing.
As a result, the academy has been closed for several days…thus, Boss Luo has also stayed at the manor for a few days, enjoying his newfound idle life.
Of course, the maid doesn’t have the authority to prevent the boss from going out.
She merely gently offered a suggestion in front of the boss: it’s not advisable to go out until things recover to a certain extent.
Such worry is almost as unnecessary as the fear of waiting for a meteorite to fall while sitting at home.
“The weather is quite nice today.”
Boss Luo had picked up a book in the courtyard, planning to spend the morning this way—except today, he had a visitor arrive.
Lamias.
No surprise, no emotion, it seemed to be expected.
Lamias appeared outside the manor in casual attire, and Eve brought her into the courtyard… Lamias politely greeted the boss and the maid.
Being impolite was not an option.
Without power, one couldn’t see clearly, thus allowing for wild guesses and assumptions — but now things were different; although still unclear, she vaguely realized how ignorant previous assumptions had been.
The more one knows, the more questions arise… and the greater the respect.
Lamias suddenly recalled this saying and abandoned the thought of testing her current fighting spirit power—she felt that although testing her power was feasible, a different opponent was certainly required.
Perhaps Father Strala would be a suitable opponent… she couldn’t forget the scene where Father Strala punched the Nautilus into sinking.
“Seems like you have adapted to your current state.” Boss Luo glanced at Lamias and deduced her current condition.
“Maybe I should thank you,” Lamias said calmly.
“No need,” Boss Luo shook his head, “I mentioned that this was a transaction… but for you, it seemed more like a game. Regardless, you are here now, aren’t you.”
Lamias understood the matter and naturally knew not to pursue yes or no.
After such a long period of lockdown, her life wisdom did not particularly grow… she remained the same, merely adding a prolonged drowsy experience, akin to a sleep with poor quality, awakening not completely refreshed.
The maid was currently observing Lamias with some interest.
Boss Luo concealed nothing from the maid… anything she could know, she was able to know—what she couldn’t know, the boss couldn’t currently explain, as it pertained to the shop… things deeper within the altar.
Such things, even the previous shop owner would have to kneel for… in that conversation under the reversal of space-time, the previous shop owner was erased the next second.
However, the maid still knew a bit about Lamias returning to the past—during that era, she was not yet the shop’s maid.
Thus, You Ye was somewhat curious.
The time before was probably Eleanor’s era.
The maid still recalled the peculiar knowledge points that emerged in her mind… what was the underlying reason for these, remained subtle.
Perhaps, she should find Miss Eleanor… oh, now it would be Lancelot with Her Majesty the Queen—maybe during some free time.
“Is it that my inappropriate attire today sparked your interest, Ms. You Ye?” Lamias said composedly.
She could feel the maid’s gaze, which seemed to carry something, yet remained indeterminate… she hadn’t quite reached that level.
However, the ability to recognize this fact had made a world of difference from before.
“Certainly not.” The maid chuckled, prepared to attend to the guest’s needs, apologizing briefly before intending to depart.
“No need to trouble yourself.” Lamias shook her head and said, “I’ve come this time merely to greet you, I’ll be leaving shortly.”
“Ms. Lamias intends to leave?” Boss Luo was somewhat intrigued, “Where do you plan to go?”
“Back to the previous place.” Lamias seemed to hide nothing, “The vacation is over, nearly ninety percent of the power was lost… I plan to reconstruct the vacation, in the future, I will assume the new position of Commander.”
No shock, no surprise, Boss Luo simply nodded, fully adopting the ‘I know’ demeanor.
Lamias failed to discern anything from his eyes… no endorsement nor opposition.
With a silent acknowledgment of his indifference, Lamias calmly commented, “I’ve left some details in my previous room, in the drawer. I know you adhere to rules, you probably wouldn’t rummage through room items… this principle likely few would uphold.”
Boss Luo nodded, “I’ll have Eve retrieve them for you.”
Lamias shook her head: “No, that was something I intended to leave behind for you all… before, I was contemplating that you disregarded the Reversed Holy Relic but were intrigued by new knowledge, thus I planned to negotiate another deal with you using the contents on that document… now, it seems unnecessary.”
Boss Luo nonchalantly remarked: “Power is fleeting; only knowledge can endure.”
“In any case.” Lamias indifferently stated, “That document, I still plan to leave here, whether you read it, that’s up to you, anyway one day, it will re-emerge. Well… today’s interruption is over.”
Suddenly, Boss Luo halted her, gesturing with a necklace… it was the Reversed Holy Relic Lamias had previously worn.
Lamias accepted it, glanced down, saying nothing, merely nodding.
Her arrival was composed, her departure equally carefree, lacking previous caution and apprehension.
Truly, this was the change brought by power.
“She has become confident.” Boss Luo remarked with a smile, after her departure, addressing the maid.
“As a woman should be.” The maid replied calmly.
…
Boss Luo waved his hand and instructed, “Go ahead and retrieve that document, let me see what’s written.”
Before long, Eve brought the document to Boss Luo’s side. Luo Qiu curiously opened it… the document was handwritten by Lamias, containing only a few pages, nothing more.
Yet it documented some genuinely interesting content.
Regarding a legend of an undersea world hidden beneath the deep ocean.
“Undersea City.” Boss Luo raised an eyebrow, suddenly recalling the giant sea turtle encountered by the shore long ago, smiling, “The ocean is indeed mysterious.”
Indeed, the ocean was quite mysterious—but only to Luo Qiu before inheriting the shop.
Now… there’s no mystery.
“Is the Master contemplating going underwater?” The maid could effortlessly discern the Master’s thoughts.
Boss Luo pondered and replied, “How long do you estimate until the academy resumes normal classes?”
“Within a short period, it might not happen.” Ms. You Ye shook her head, “If the master wants the academy to reopen, I can look for Queen Elizabeth.”
This Elizabeth is not the young vampire girl who became a Radiant Tower Master’s last student… but Her Majesty the Queen of Britain.
“Hmm…” Boss Luo pondered, “No need, let’s just treat it as a regular holiday… However, this Undersea City is indeed quite enticing, I wonder if we’ll see real mermaids.”
Ms. You Ye expressionlessly remarked that mermaids are actually quite ugly, not the almost naked beauties humans imagine, and due to body structure, there are mating difficulties between male and female mermaids.
Boss Luo noted it down as cold knowledge.
But the underwater journey was still confirmed.
Luo Qiu suddenly recalled something.
The Xuanyuan Palace, which has guarded the Divine Land for ages… they have resisted deep-sea evil spirits many times—Boss Luo even personally went with Royal Princess Su Zijun to an underwater tomb.
In modern times, deep-sea evil spirit invasions haven’t really happened… if such a thing had occurred, with contemporary scientific abilities, it’s basically impossible to keep it hidden.
One wonders if these deep-sea evil spirits have any plans to invade the Divine Land.
The thought just passed fleetingly, and with the morning not yet over, Boss Luo didn’t intend to change his original plan of reading, but Ms. You Ye had momentarily stepped away.
Since the journey was confirmed, Ms. You Ye said she needed to prepare food, and also clothes need preparation—this seemingly includes swimwear.
“Feels like a bit of anticipation, doesn’t it?” Boss Luo shook his head and reopened the book in his hand—Grimm’s Fairy Tales, given to him by Teacher Prin.
…
Lamias walked into Father Strala’s church.
Ten minutes later, Lamias walked out expressionlessly… she had no plans to see Father Strala again any time soon.
But after Lamias left, Father Strala rushed outside in anger and spat twice.
No winning, no losing… neither put forth full effort, yet the priest seemed somewhat more relaxed.
However, Vasco appeared.
He had left with squire candidates several days ago, and now returned—bringing with him a confidential order from the Pope.
“Strala, now appointing you as a papal candidate, do you accept?”
“I don’t! Even if you find a hundred and dozens of nuns to serve me daily, I won’t accept! But if it’s two or three hundred, I might reluctantly consider!”
“You’re not afraid of dying!” Vasco glared before sighing, “Go back; the Pope is truly done for.”
“What the (bleep) does that matter to me?”
Vasco took a deep breath, “Once back, you have the right to overturn past cases… all wrongful convictions in Holy Church history, you can overturn them… including Amunst’s charges, it can all be by your decision!”
“Should I slap you across the face?” The priest smirked coldly.
“Do it hard!” Vasco gritted his teeth.
“Then what are we waiting for?” Father Strala’s eyes brightened, instantly standing up… meanwhile, the sagging skin on his body gradually tightened up.
The priest stood up, shedding the wrinkled black robe, now only wearing a thin white undergarment… showing off a strong muscular physique.
He even regained youth, appearing as a handsome fellow of twenty-seven or eight.
“You?” Vasco was perplexed.
Father Strala snorted, “Did you think the Virgin Boy Technique I’ve cultivated for decades is fake? If we’re returning, I want the little nuns of Holy Church to scream for me every night! Now this body’s shell is just about right! Rubbish Vasco, quickly throw me an extravagant pool party!”
This is more like it… this familiar flavor, it’s indeed Holy Church’s number one sharp-tongued and strong Strala, Vasco smiled.
This was the first smile he had shown in several days—when he hurriedly brought squire candidates back to the Pope, the first news was: five Descending Angels killed in action, over two-thirds of the Paladin Camp dead, including a Cardinal… how could he smile?
Soon, the priest jumped on the church and dismantled the white cross on the church roof, carrying it on his shoulder, then picked up Atang, ready to go.
“Why are you carrying this thing?” Vasco frowned.
“Otherwise, leaving the holy remains here, I’m afraid it’d get stolen!” Father Strala threw a sideways glance, “You have no idea, this lousy place is rife with thieves!”
“What… this is a holy remains?” Vasco incredulously widened his eyes, “You actually… placed such an important object so publicly on, on the roof?!?”
The priest scoffed, “And you lot sent out holy remains for exhibit!”
“Those are different!” Vasco screamed, “They’re all fake, you know that!”
“Are you coming or not? My pool party might not happen!”
“We can go… but!” Vasco hurriedly took the white cross from the priest’s shoulder, “I’ll manage this thing from now!”
The priest didn’t mind, turned back to the church, no longer carrying the cross, with hands free, and casually picked up a bag of black-and-white adult videos, saying they’re for entertainment.
Vasco sighed, still unsure where this papal decision would steer the future of Holy Church… but Holy Church’s current void was indeed its greatest crisis.
With over two-thirds of the Paladin Camp lost, a Cardinal fallen, and many high-ranking clergy mysteriously disappearing and gone—unable even to find the bodies—this remains top secret for now… but he doesn’t know how long these matters could be kept under wraps.
Vasco, heart chaotic, followed behind Father Strala, leaving the small town church… yet he didn’t know those mysteriously disappeared clergy were actually inside Atang’s stomach.
…
…
Dimensional rift.
In a chaotic wilderness and floating belt of turmoil, Tai Yinzi exerted significant effort to emerge… looking ahead—he felt this direction should be the front.
“Hmm… so this is the trial place Musashi mentioned.”
Tai Yinzi gazed at the twisted space ahead and suddenly felt slightly uneasy, pondering deeply.
Da Zhe’s character is decent, probably wouldn’t trick him; Master Musashi was introduced by Da Zhe, seems reliable as well—this trial shouldn’t be deceitful.
“I wonder if the master misses me…”
Tai Yinzi promptly perked up, transformed into a wisp of gray fog, and dashed toward the distortion, “Women are like clothes, the master is someone who achieves great deeds, naturally discerning… once I complete this undercover task, then return triumphantly to assume the second-in-command position in the club, who dares defy?”
Hahaha, haha!
