Chapter 559: Chapter 552: The Stalking Mantis Is Preyed Upon

"Boss Qiao was preparing to make a major move this time. He had long harbored the thought of swallowing up the New Dragon Association and intended to let them catch their breath for a couple more years, but who would have thought that the New Dragon Association would come seeking their own demise, causing him to suffer such a huge loss.

He, Qiao Ziqiang, simply couldn’t let such a grudge go unavenged and continue to mix in the underworld!

Qiao Xingbang found out that the New Dragon Association was holding a gang leader meeting at the Night-blooming jasmine Night Club the night after next at nine. All the middle to upper rank leaders of the New Dragon Association would attend, and their Yaoxing Gang would be able to wipe them out in one fell swoop, completely annihilating the New Dragon Association.

Sisi wasn’t involved in the action the day after tomorrow. She stayed at home with Du Du and Mu Xiulan, as well as Qiao Zhenbang and his wife, along with seven or eight younger brothers and some servants.

Tian Xinhua was determined to avenge Sisi and joined in the action with Boss Qiao and others. Boss Qiao had requested Qiao Zhenbang stay at home to protect the family, despite Boss Qiao believing there wouldn’t be any danger that night.

The New Dragon Association was about to be wiped out. The Ju Yi Gang, though rivals of the Yaoxing Gang, had been at peace over the years. Also, Boss Shi of the Ju Yi Gang had some ties with him and would definitely not take action against a few weak women. Most importantly, the Jianghu rule was that misfortune should not befall one’s family. It was expected that Boss Shi wouldn’t dare to violate this rule.

But sometimes man’s calculations really can’t compare to heaven’s!

Boss Qiao and Tian Xinhua were once again filled with self-reproach!

Around nine o’clock that night, Du Du had long since fallen asleep like a little pig. Qiao Zhenbang and his wife, as well as Mu Xiulan, weren’t sleepy either, and the three sat in the living room talking, all somewhat distracted.

Outside, the several younger brothers were guarding diligently. Sisi, worried about Du Du sleeping alone in the room, stayed on the second floor watching the moon in the sky, occasionally tucking the blanket for the restlessly shifting Du Du.

Even though she believed in Tian Xinhua’s abilities, she still felt a little uneasy, worried about Tian Xinhua getting into trouble. In fact, she really didn’t want Tian Xinhua to participate in this action, but she also knew that if Tian Xinhua didn’t personally kill a few members of the New Dragon Association, he would likely continue to blame himself.

The feeling of unease grew stronger, the weight on her heart became heavier, and the air around seemed to thin out, making it difficult for Sisi to breathe.

What’s going on?

There’s danger!

Over the years, Sisi’s sense of danger had become increasingly sharp. She could now be one hundred percent certain that danger was imminent, and it was a kind of unprecedented danger!

Without a second thought, Sisi scooped the sleeping Du Du into the Space, then stuffed a large toy into the blankets, wrapping it up. Thinking it over, she then shoved the toy under the bed before running to the window to observe the surroundings.

There were five or six black sedans parked on the main road outside the villa. This was a high-end residential area where cars were usually kept in private garages. Only during balls would private cars be parked along the main road, but tonight none of the homes were hosting a ball.

Most importantly, these cars had no license plates and skulked about, clearly indicating that their arrivals were with ill intent.

Sisi didn’t have time to think further and quickly dashed downstairs, shouting at an oblivious Qiao Zhenbang in the living room, "We’re surrounded, is there a hidden safe room in the villa?"

Qiao Zhenbang was startled, obviously not believing it. Sisi couldn’t be bothered to explain further and directly pulled him to the window to see those cars. By this time, several people in black clothes had gotten out of the cars, carrying weapons in their hands.

Qiao Zhenbang’s back stiffened. First, he shouted "It’s an ambush!" at the younger brothers outside, then he turned to Sisi and said, "There is a hidden safe room. Follow me."

The younger brothers outside immediately found hiding spots and vigilantly kept watch.

"First, take your sister-in-law and my mama to hide in the safe room. Oh, right, are there weapons in the villa?" asked Sisi.

""

Qiao Zhenbang looked deeply at Sisi, "Yes, follow me."

Mu Xiulan and Luo Linglong were bewildered by the conversation between Sisi and Qiao Zhenbang, but there was no time for explanations as Qiao Zhenbang and Sisi immediately took Mu Xiulan, Luo Linglong, and a few other maidservants to the secret room.

The so-called secret room was just a narrow underground wine cellar, but it had water, food, and ventilation facilities, making it a decent hiding place.

Sisi instructed them to stay inside and not to come out no matter what happened outside. Knowing that she would only be a burden to her daughter, Mu Xiulan obediently stayed in the wine cellar. She was worried about Du Du, so she asked Sisi to bring Du Du over, but Sisi told her that she had hidden Du Du in a very safe place. After saying this, Sisi and Qiao Zhenbang secured the secret room’s lid and rushed to the ammunition room.

The ammunition room was in Qiao Zhenbang’s bedroom, stocked with sniper rifles, submachine guns, various types of pistols, grenades, rocket launchers, and other firearms—a collection on par with that of the Qiao Xingbang, both brothers sharing a hobby of collecting firearms.

Sisi straightaway picked a sniper rifle and a pistol, while Qiao Zhenbang took two pistols and also grabbed a submachine gun.

The other servants also chose weapons that suited them; they were all old hands from the Gang, retired, and were no strangers to guns.

By now, gunshots had already started outside; it seemed the enemies had begun exchanging fire with the brothers in the yard.

Sisi’s expression changed as she swiftly assembled the rifle and said to Qiao Zhenbang, "I’ll go to the top floor to snipe the enemies. You guys try to keep them outside as much as possible, okay?"

Although Qiao Zhenbang was surprised at Sisi’s proficiency in assembling the rifle, he also knew that this was not the time to ask about it, and her skill implied that her marksmanship must be outstanding—bolstering his confidence in surviving the night.

"Be careful!"

Qiao Zhenbang husked and left with the submachine gun and the servants towards the living room. Sisi called after him and threw him a bottle of Qiong Wine, "Emergency hemostatic, take it."

Qiao Zhenbang took the Qiong Wine and left; seeing no one in the room, Sisi then loaded some bullets and weapons into her Space, in case she ran out of ammo later.

The top floor had a small loft that provided a clear view of the entire area below, making it perfect for an ambush.

Sisi set up the rifle and looked down; the fight outside was in a deadlock. When Boss Qiao initially purchased the house, he wisely chose a location somewhat secluded, at the very end of this major road, some distance from other houses. Considering the other residents had already locked up after hearing gunshots, Sisi didn’t need to worry about accidentally injuring any innocents.

The enemies numbered around twenty or thirty, clearly well-prepared—but from where did they come?

Could it be the New Dragon Association playing a bluff?

Deliberately releasing false information to lure Boss Qiao and his men out, then attack Qiao Mansion to kill Boss Qiao’s family.

But, was such a fuss necessary just to kill a few women?

Unable to figure it out, Sisi suppressed her worries for Tian Xinhua and forced herself to calmly shoot at the enemies.

Qiao Zhenbang and his men put in all their effort to fend off the attackers, remembering Sisi’s words and striving to keep them at bay.

However, the enemies’ firepower was formidable, and within minutes, two of their brothers were hit. Thankfully, the medicinal wine from Sisi stopped the bleeding, or else their lives would have been lost.

Suddenly, the gunfire from outside weakened, and as Qiao Zhenbang saw several black-clad figures collapsing one after another, joy filled his heart, realizing Sisi from above had taken action.
