Chapter 727 - 720: The Woman’s True Face
Chapter 727: Chapter 720: The Woman’s True Face
Since she arrived in G City, Sisi went to G City No. 1 High School to see Zhong Anmei, to chat with an old friend, and to also learn about the Rong family’s matters.
Zhong Anmei was a first-year history teacher, not a primary subject, so she was relatively free. She didn’t have any classes in the afternoon, so she took Sisi to a nearby coffee shop for a chat.
When Sisi asked about Rong Zishan, Zhong Anmei had a hint of regret on her face and sighed, "Zishan, that girl, was ruined by her father and stepmother. Such a pity for a good girl."
As it turns out, Rong Zhen Sheng’s new wife had a remarkable way with people, making Rong Zhen Sheng utterly captivated, to the point that he ignored his two biological children, instead treating the new wife’s son and daughter as treasures.
Four years ago, under the new wife’s encouragement, Rong Zhen Sheng married Rong Zishan off to the son of an old military friend, whose son was notorious in the military region as a spoiled brat, indulging in all sorts of vices. It’s unknown how Rong Zishan ever agreed to the marriage.
In the initial period after marriage, the spoiled brat behaved, but once Rong Zishan became pregnant, he relapsed into his old habits. Her in-laws not only ignored their son’s behavior but also blamed Rong Zishan for not holding her husband’s heart. Adding to this, Rong Zishan had to care for her younger brother, which only made her in-laws more critical.
Later, when Rong Zishan gave birth to a daughter, the old couple completely turned against her, egging on their son to divorce Rong Zishan and marry another woman to have a son, as they didn’t want the family line to end.
The spoiled brat had long grown tired of Rong Zishan, so when he heard his parents say so, how could he not comply?
And just like that, Rong Zishan and her daughter were thrown out by the family. Rong Zishan initially moved back to her family home, but Rong Zhen Sheng felt she had embarrassed him. Coupled with the new wife whispering in his ear, Rong Zishan couldn’t stay at her family home either and moved out in less than a month.
But why did she take her brother Rong Ziqi with her? And how was it that Rong Zhen Sheng didn’t object?
It’s quite strange!
Hearing Zhong Anmei’s words, Sisi felt a bit relieved. It seemed Rong Zishan hadn’t lied, but there might be other hidden reasons behind her marriage and taking her brother away.
Sisi visited Uncle Ji later, who had blisters on his lips, seemingly quite worried.
She relayed Rong Zishan’s situation to him. Uncle Ji remained silent for a while, rubbing his chin and said, "The daughter of the Political Commissar in the military region? Come to think of it, my Ah Xi is really marrying up!"
Sisi just smiled without commenting. Seeing Ah Xi’s deep affection for Rong Zishan, it seemed highly likely that Rong Zishan would become Uncle Ji’s daughter-in-law in the future. It would be a family affair then, and she, an outsider, better say less to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Uncle Ji added, "From what Ah Nan says, this girl’s character isn’t bad. If she were a young maiden, she’d match well with Ah Xi. But she’s divorced and has a daughter, while my Ah Xi is still a virgin—he’s at a big disadvantage!"
Uncle Ji beat his chest in frustration, looking unwilling, but his tone was not as harsh as it had been some time ago.
Sisi had initially thought of suggesting that Ah Xi find a woman to fool around with, to make him match with Rong Zishan. But such a bad idea couldn’t be spoken aloud. Uncle Ji might actually take it seriously and find someone to mess with Ah Xi, and then both Ah Xi and Rong Zishan would hate her!
Sisi slowly advised, "Uncle Ji, you need a different tactic. You can’t be too forceful; you have to be softer. The key now is to coax Ah Xi back home. Letting him stay outside all the time, with a lonely man and a lonely woman, sparks might fly, and you might end up with a grandchild!"
Uncle Ji was unconcerned, "If Ah Xi had that capability, I wouldn’t worry. Ah Xi is as obedient as a monk. Otherwise, he wouldn’t still be a virgin at twenty-seven or twenty-eight! He hasn’t inherited any of his father’s skills!"
Sisi inwardly retorted: If Ah Xi were as promiscuous as you, your grandchildren would be everywhere!
Whatever Rong Zishan said to Ah Xi, he moved back home the next day. Uncle Ji called Sisi to share the good news, in high spirits.
When Ah Xi moved back, he also took Mo Liu with him. Mo Liu figured that since he had run away from home, living anywhere but home was the same, so he agreed.
But Mo Liu actually forgot to call Sisi to inform her. When Sisi went to the hotel to find Mo Liu, she discovered he had already checked out.
After calling and scolding Mo Liu, she turned to head to the elevator. Mo Liu was on the fourth floor, and at that moment, the elevator showed it was on the sixth floor, indicating someone there was also coming down.
When the elevator door opened, inside was a young woman with a graceful figure, big wavy hair, large sunglasses, red lips, and snow-like skin—a very beautiful woman.
Sisi stepped into the elevator and stood leaning against the elevator wall. The confined space was filled with fragrance, making her nose itch, causing Sisi to sneeze several times.
This woman surely used a whole bottle of perfume, practically suffocating her!
Sisi didn’t notice the young woman’s eyes, hidden behind her sunglasses, staring intently at her, a faint, mocking smile at the corners of her lips.
Feeling the scorching gaze, Sisi looked up at the woman. The face behind the sunglasses was expressionless, leaving Sisi unsure if she was indeed watching her.
Sisi frowned slightly. This woman had definitely been staring at her earlier. So strange!
Suddenly, she recalled that painting of a young woman with sunglasses and big wavy hair, who bore at least a five or six-point resemblance to this woman.
Could it be her?
The more Sisi looked, the more she felt they looked alike. He Chengsi had no clues so far; whether or not this woman was the one from the painting, she’d have to find out first!
Now, the most crucial thing was to see this woman’s face!
The number on the display had already jumped to 2. Sisi concentrated hard. Finally, with her little brain, she came up with an idea that wasn’t too clever.
She lifted one foot to scratch an itch, pretending to lose balance standing on one foot, flailing as she leaned toward the woman.
The woman furrowed her brows, retreating disdainfully, but the wall was right behind her, leaving her no room to retreat. Sisi moved quickly, colliding into her, while her right hand seemingly unintentionally hooked onto the large sunglasses.
Feeling the cool frame, Sisi was secretly pleased, though her face maintained an expression of feigned panic, and she swung her hand, pulling the sunglasses off.
The young woman’s mysterious face was thus unveiled by Sisi.
It was an incredibly alluring and enchanting face.
Actually, individually, none of the woman’s facial features were particularly beautiful. Her lips were somewhat thick, her nose slightly flat, and her eyes not especially large. Yet her skin was exceptionally good, smooth as creamy jade, and the individually not-so-beautiful components assembled together formed an irresistibly beautiful face.
Beauty was secondary. What truly captivated was the woman’s aura, an indescribably enticing aura that made not only men feel weak-kneed and have certain reactions, but even women seeing it would feel their legs weaken!
"Sorry, here are your sunglasses," Sisi hastily returned the sunglasses to the woman. The elevator had reached the first floor by now, and she didn’t bother about the woman’s sour expression, darting off swiftly.
The woman in the elevator put the sunglasses back on and smiled, her lips curving as she watched Sisi’s figure disappear into the distance.
