Chapter 729 - 722: Spring Outing
Chapter 729: Chapter 722: Spring Outing
Because of the unexpected discovery of this mysterious Lady Xue, Sisi was in no hurry to return to the Capital City. She had a strong premonition that this Lady Xue wouldn’t remain so complacent and would definitely take some action.
After making countless unequal agreements with the three little ones in the Capital City over the phone, Sisi finally managed to calm them down.
Shi Zhenzhen called and invited Sisi to visit the Big Buddha Temple over the weekend. The peach blossoms there are very famous and are currently at their peak. After visiting the Big Buddha Temple, they could stop by her house for dinner. She would have her third brother make some secret special desserts.
Sisi wasn’t particularly interested in admiring peach blossoms, but the tasty desserts were tempting. The dishes she had at the restaurant last time were delicious, so the desserts likely wouldn’t disappoint.
Her excitement quickly turned into action as Tian Xinhua happened to have the weekend off. They both hadn’t gone out for a long time, so this was a perfect opportunity for a spring outing.
Thinking it wouldn’t be right to just eat the young lady’s food without reciprocating, Sisi decided to invite Mo Liu, Ah Xi and his wife, as well as the two little ones.
Mo Liu initially didn’t want to go, but after hearing about the delicious special desserts, he couldn’t help his mouth from salivating, and his mind started feeling dizzy. By the time he realized it, he had already agreed.
How embarrassing!
How could he sell himself for a little food?
So lacking in integrity!
Sisi wasn’t surprised at all; Mo Liu was just like Shangguan. Although one is a domineering queen, and the other is a naive follower, both of them are essentially food lovers at heart.
In fact, if it weren’t for Yang Shu interfering, Sisi thought Shangguan and Mo Liu would make a good match!
One strong, one gentle, what a lovable pair!
Rong Zishan’s daughter is only three years old, plump and fair. Besides her lively big eyes, she doesn’t look much like her mother; probably takes after that irresponsible father?
The little one is quite endearing and very sweet-talking, much more lovable than her uncle.
Rong Ziqi had grown a lot taller, now an awkward teenager, but quieter than he used to be, appearing a bit gloomy with a defiant air.
However, he’s very respectful to his sister and caring to his niece, very gentle. It’s clear that his sister and niece hold an important place in his heart.
Who knows what this kid has been through?
The purity of youth is no longer there.
Sisi took out two red envelopes from her pocket and handed them to Rong Ziqi and the little girl. Every time she came here, she’d prepare red envelopes to hand out whenever needed.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do!
The Big Buddha Temple is in the southern suburbs of G City, about a two-hour drive from the city center. The roads were busy, indicating a large number of visitors going there, many of whom were tourists from afar.
"The Big Buddha Temple not only has beautiful scenery, but its vegetarian dishes are also quite famous. Reservations are made a month in advance. If it weren’t for my Old Dou’s friendship with the head chef Master Five Flavors there, I wouldn’t have gotten a reservation!"
Shi Zhenzhen was in good spirits, eagerly introducing the place, her eyes glancing occasionally at Mo Liu beside her. Sure enough, when Mo Liu heard about the delicious vegetarian dishes, his ears perked up immediately, and his mouth started watering uncontrollably.
Shi Zhenzhen was immensely satisfied. Indeed, as her mother said, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!
Sisi: Girl, you don’t seem to be able to cook, do you?
Miss Shi: Although I can’t cook, I have a whole bunch of food experts at my disposal!
The peach blossoms at the Big Buddha Temple truly lived up to their reputation. The hills were blanketed with pink blossoms, and as the Spring Breeze blew, the beautiful petals floated like a mesmerizing peach blossom rain. Occasionally, a few petals would fall on the face, with a hint of sweet fragrance, fleeting away gently.
The scenery was beautiful, but the crowd of heads and the noisy chatter were a big disappointment.
Some people even climbed onto the peach trees to shake the branches for prettier photos or to please a loved one. The sky filled with falling flowers, akin to being in a fairy land, amused the beauties who watched, prompting the boys shaking the trees to work even harder.
Others saw this enchanting view and followed suit. Shortly, several peach trees were left bare.
Sisi was very uncomfortable with what she saw. Petals being blown off by the wind was natural and unavoidable, but shaking flowers from the trees like this was unacceptable!
Tian Xinhua knew his wife couldn’t stand people who destroy the environment. He winked at Sisi, picked up a few pebbles from the ground, and flicked them repeatedly. The men on the trees fell with a thud, groaning in pain.
Seeing this, Sisi ran up to one of the men who was shaking the tree the hardest and said, "To appreciate flowers, you must use your eyes and soul. Climbing trees like this only tarnishes the beauty here. This is a sacred place. How can you be so impudent? This is Buddha punishing you!"
Sisi spoke with righteous gravity. Given that this was indeed a holy Buddhist site, and many locals are believers, some bystanders echoed her sentiments. Though resentful, the men on the ground had to promise not to climb again. After all, public outrage is not to be trifled with!
It was just too crowded here. They took a few quick photos and then headed to the restaurant where Shi Zhenzhen had already booked a private room.
The private room was elegantly simple, with the only decoration being a vase of flowers on the table. The vibrant peach blossoms added a splash of color to the modest room.
The vegetarian dishes here were indeed delectable, on par with the food at Shi Zhenzhen’s home. Sisi, with a hearty appetite, devoured two bowls of rice, hiccupping nonstop.
Everyone else enjoyed the meal as well; they devoured every dish, leaving nothing behind. Even the leftover broth was used to soak rice, the plates as clean as if washed.
"It’s so delicious, Mom. Let’s come back here again!" The girl’s voice was as sweet as honey.
Rong Zishan smiled, wiping her daughter’s oily little mouth with a handkerchief, but there was a hint of reluctance on her face. The vegetarian dishes at the Big Buddha Temple are not something ordinary people can afford; they’re for the rich and noble. Whether she can book a reservation again is uncertain, and with her meager salary, she probably couldn’t afford even one meal.
"Mom can cook too. How about I make something yummy for you when we get home?" Rong Zishan didn’t want to make an empty promise to her daughter, so she tried to coax her with a compromise.
Her daughter was very understanding, unlike other kids who wouldn’t let go if their demands weren’t met. Instead, she smiled sweetly and said, "Okay, I love the food Mom makes the most!"
Rong Zishan felt a twinge of sorrow in her heart; it’s all because she wasn’t capable enough to fulfill even her daughter’s small wishes.
Ah Xi, smiling beside her, said, "As long as Xinxin brings home ten little red flowers from school, Uncle Xi will bring you here to eat."
The little girl, although eager to come back and eat, looked at her mother. Rong Zishan frowned slightly but still nodded with a smile, making Xinxin cheer with delight!
However, someone wasn’t too happy; Rong Ziqi discreetly glared at the guy trying to take away his sister and niece. He gently said to his niece, "Xinxin, when your uncle grows up and makes lots of money, he’ll take you here to eat every day."
"Great, then Uncle, you need to grow up quickly!"
Rong Ziqi:......
