Chapter 1337: Became Even More Timid
Chapter 1337: Chapter 1337: Became Even More Timid
If it hadn’t been for Zhang Chunxiang’s repeated persuasion, coupled with Su Pingping’s inability to bear staying in her hometown any longer, she would have had no other option but to turn to Su Wen for help.
That same afternoon, after handing over half of her wages, Su Pingping took the train back, with the ticket already bought for her by Zhang Chunxiang; otherwise, she wouldn’t have made it back in time. Once back, she moved into the dormitory, where luckily Yao Fang hadn’t returned home for the New Year and was there to keep her company.
After work resumed, Su Pingping was among the most eager, and upon hearing Fang Sha and Fang Shuai vaguely mentioning Su Qing, she immediately perked up her ears, not letting any detail slip by.
“Little… what happened to Boss Su?”
Fang Shuai, not accustomed to discussing personal matters with female colleagues, simply nodded at Su Pingping and went off to attend to his own business.
Fang Sha, still not letting go of the subject, continued to cling to Su Pingping.
“Boss Su is in a bad mood; being relatives, do you know what’s the matter?”
“I don’t know,” said Su Pingping, claiming ignorance, although she had her suspicions. It must be because of the bad things those people in the village did, causing Su Qing’s family such misery; it was normal for her to feel upset.
With this in mind, Su Pingping quickly led Fang Sha away, “Since Boss Su is not in good spirits, we should focus on our work and strive to show our worth.”

Had she become even more timid?
That couldn’t be right! Fang Sha heard that when Su Pingping first arrived in the Province, she was indeed very timid, but after training and experience, she had gradually become more outgoing, even able to handle customers well when the shop was busy.
Why then did she now seem as skittish as a quail?

Upstairs, in Su Qing’s office, Fang Shuai knocked and entered.
“Director Su, this is something Boss Su asked me to pass on to you.” Ever since Su Wen became pregnant, most of her work had been transferred to Su Qing, and Fang Shuai now served as an assistant to both Su Wen and Su Qing.
“What is it?”
Su Qing, sitting behind her desk, was engrossed in reviewing reports, her expression growing darker as she progressed. At the question, she looked up, expressionless, which only made her carefully made-up face appear more stunning and out-of-this-world, exuding a formidable presence.
Fang Shuai, caught off guard, stared blankly for a second, and upon making eye contact with Su Qing, he suddenly felt uneasy, quickly averting his gaze from her eyes.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, it’s the plan Boss Su made for the new store.” Fang Shuai immediately handed over the prepared documents to Su Qing, then stood up straight in front of the desk, motionless.
Su Qing’s lips curled into a smile, “Don’t just stand there, have a seat. We’re all colleagues; why has everyone suddenly become so formal? Am I that frightening?” Recently, everyone seemed to avoid her, which left Su Qing feeling baffled and out of place.
Fang Shuai thought to himself: You’re just realizing that?
Nonetheless, he relaxed and sat down opposite Su Qing, the two of them facing each other across the desk, discussing the plans for the new store.
Su Qing had known about the new store plans for a while and had discussed them with her big sister, but they had decided it wasn’t appropriate to expand too quickly at the initial stage, as their economic base couldn’t support it; they had rejected the idea, planning to look for a suitable location after the new year.
“The World Trade Center? The Capital?” Su Qing, looking at the address on the materials, asked in surprise: “I’ve heard it’s hard to get into. As the first international commercial building in the country, not only is the space expensive, but isn’t it open only to overseas Chinese and foreign enterprises?”
