Chapter 99 Part 2 – I Think of You Everywhere (II)

After delivering popsicles to the girls, Rong Xin joined Ning Shaobai’s group. “What are you guys talking about?”

“Designing mobile phones that can take photos and videos.”

Rong Xin thought that was absurd. “We already have cameras and DV recorders—why use a phone for that?”

Ning Shaobai took a slow bite of his popsicle, “To make it easier to date.”

He Jianming was already getting excited. “Think about it—you could take pictures or videos anytime and send them straight to your crush. And she could share her life and schedule with you anytime, too.”

Li Jiaze, knowing Rong Xin’s situation, teased, “Even if your goddess’ off filming and you’re apart, you could still chat face-to-face. You’d get to know her faster.”

Mo Feiguang’s eyes lit up with longing. “You wouldn’t even have to leave home to meet people. Way more convenient than calls now.”

Rong Xin finally got the appeal of mobile photography. His eyes lit up. “Hey, that’s a great idea! Calls and texts aren’t as good as pictures and videos…” His smile gradually turned lewd. “And if you could do face-to-face video calls…”

He suddenly grabbed Ning Shaobai’s hand, eyes full of emotion. “Bro, you’re doing this for me, right? I didn’t expect you to care so much about my lifelong happiness. You’re truly my real brother!”

Ning Shaobai: “???”

“With a good brother like you, I’ll survive!” Fired up, he turned to the other three. “We have to make this happen! Whatever you need, just tell me—I’ll stand with you all the way!”

Mo Feiguang, seeing that Rong Xin had gotten the wrong idea, tried to correct him, “This won’t happen for a few years—”

But Li Jiaze quickly pressed him down and gave Rong Xin a big thumbs-up, grinning. “Let’s do something big together!”

“Of course!” Rong Xin agreed with great enthusiasm.

He Jianming looked at him with sympathy—how many times had he been cheated without learning his lesson?

Zhu Jiadong, however, was quite envious. Young Master Rong truly was Heaven’s favored child—just like that, he’d gotten himself attached to Young Master Ning’s new project.

Although he didn’t fully understand the details, from the sound of it, the envisioned phone did seem impressive. “So you’re saying people could just take photos of the food and entertainment at my hotel with their phones and send them out, and everyone would be able to see them?”

“That’s the idea.” Ning Shaobai looked at the popsicle in his hand. After being half-bitten, it was the same shape as the one from the train that day…

If he took a picture of it and sent it to that girl… would she blush?

His eyes drifted unconsciously to the back of his hand again.

Seeing him trail off mid-sentence, Zhu Jiadong called, “Young Master Ning?”

Ning Shaobai looked up. “What is it?”

Mo Feiguang asked curiously, “Why do you keep looking at the back of your hand? It’s happened several times today.”

“So it wasn’t just me imagining it!” Rong Xin slapped the table. “Not just today—these past few days I’ve caught him staring at the back of his hand, daydreaming. Sometimes even grinning like an idiot.”

“Brother Bai, what’s up with your hand? Is it going to sprout flowers?”

Li Jiaze, as someone experienced, connected it with what Ning had said earlier and instantly knew there was a story behind it, a knowing smile spreading on his face.

Ning Shaobai paused, then set his hand down casually and changed the subject. “Are you using your car lately?”

Rong Xin said, “No. Why? Your car broke down?”

“It’s in for maintenance. Will take a few days.”

“Oh,” Rong Xin said. “Mine’s free—use it whenever. I’m going to chase my goddess!”

Ning Shaobai frowned slightly. “Chasing a girl without a car?”

What kind of pursuit is that? Don’t guys usually try to impress girls with fancy cars?

“You don’t get it, do you?” Rong Xin chuckled. “If I drive, I’m just the chauffeur—can’t even talk properly. But if I don’t drive, I can sit next to her on the plane. If she gets tired, she can lean on my shoulder…”

His expression grew dreamy again.

Zhu Jiadong laughed. “Your goddess surely isn’t that easy to win over.”

Rong Xin sighed. “If only she would take the train. From Yan City to Shen City is a full day and night. I’d buy the seat right next to hers, then we could have time alone…”

Ning Shaobai, who had been listening absentmindedly, suddenly lifted his gaze toward him.

Rong Xin looked puzzled. “What?”

“Nothing,” Ning Shaobai replied calmly. “I have something to do. You all enjoy yourselves.”

He got up, prepared to go.

“When will you need the car?” Rong Xin asked.

“We’ll see,” Ning Shaobai said casually. “I’m just preparing ahead. Might not need it.”

Rong Xin felt something was off. When had Ning Shaobai ever made uncertain plans? Once he mentioned something, it was usually set in stone.

Zhu Jiadong suddenly fixed his gaze in one direction. “Isn’t that Miss Gao?”

They all looked in the direction he indicated. By the pool stood a tall woman, and among all the modest one-piece swimsuits, her pale yellow bikini drew nearly every gaze.

Rong Xin let out a whistle. “Wow, bold. Must be here for you, Brother Bai—she never comes to these events.”

The crowd outside was already buzzing, loud enough to be heard clearly from the third floor. Ning Shaobai only gave her a glance before looking away.

Just then, his phone rang on the table. Glancing at the caller ID, a smile curved his lips.

Hearing the noise in the background, Xia Mian sounded puzzled. “You’re out? It’s so loud.”

Before Ning Shaobai could answer, Rong Xin, having seen the caller ID, leaned in toward the phone with a sly grin. “Xia Mian, keep it short, okay? Brother Bai’s busy checking out on girls.”

Ning Shaobai: “…”

The voice on the other end seemed to pause, then turned dangerously cheerful, “Dr. Ning, sounds like your ‘years of waiting’ are going quite pleasantly.”

Ning Shaobai rubbed his forehead. “Don’t listen to his nonsense.”

Rong Xin bristled. “What do you mean ‘nonsense’? This pool’s full of pretty girls—”

Ning Shaobai’s teeth clenched dangerously: “Rong Xin…”

Author’s Note:

Falling in love means you think of them everywhere, right? Hahaha.

Rong Xin: “My Brother Bai is worrying himself sick over my love life.”

Ning Shaobai: “I want to strangle him.”

Rong Xin: “Why drive when you’re with your crush? Take an overnight train—it’s basically the same as sleeping together.”

Ning Shaobai: “I’ll spare him… for now.”

Rong Xin: “Xia Mian, you’re interrupting Brother Bai’s girl-watching!”

Ning Shaobai: “Today is the day you die!”
