Chapter 501: New Changes
Chapter 501: New Changes
Adyr wasn’t expecting to get a new stat. From Zephan’s descriptions and everything he had explained, the Blood Path had sounded like a made-up Path, something stitched together from Ignis and Nether.
Zephan had never mentioned Lunari ancestors gaining a new stat. He only talked about them having [Will] and [Resilience] after switching to the Blood Path.
That made the outcome clearer to Adyr. Those Lunari ancestors had been failed products. They couldn’t fully embrace the new path, and in the end they lost themselves, lost consciousness, and slipped into an endless sleep.
But Adyr was different, and unlike them, he actually succeeded.
He had gained the Blood Path, or more specifically, it felt integrated into his Primora Path, like the system had sewn it into him rather than replacing what was already there.
Now his Path looked like something that contained all 5 paths within itself. At the same time, it didn’t truly belong to any one of them.
It felt like an independent branch that borrowed from all sides without carrying a single banner.
This is getting even more interesting, Adyr thought, realizing the Primora Path had more to it than he had ever expected.
He stopped theorizing about the Paths and began examining how this 5th stat had affected his body. He focused on the smallest sensations instead of chasing obvious strength.
He could sense the evolution clearly. His body felt tougher, harder to break, but not in the same way as when he increased [Resilience].
Resilience usually felt like a hardened shell, like a reinforced frame locking into place.
This was different. His body felt like it held more life. Every cell felt packed with explosive strength, like a permanent buff that kept his body in a constant state of readiness, power humming beneath the surface even at rest.
Apart from the increase in durability and strength, there was something else that reminded him of the Charm and Charisma stats in games, the kind players pursued when they wanted influence rather than raw damage.
Because the life force in his body wasn’t only power. It came with an alluring pull. His skin looked more vivid. His overall appearance looked cleaner, sharper, and more attractive in a way that was difficult to ignore.
And the scent was worse in its own way. A sweet fragrance drifted from him like an aphrodisiac. It felt designed to fog the thoughts of anyone who caught it, planting a quiet urge to get closer, to take something from him. Just standing near him carried the promise of comfort and pleasure at the same time.
If he layered this with his Presence and Grace bloodline talents, the result was obvious. He could create a combination that would make mortals drop to their knees and worship, not out of reason, but out of instinct and pressure.
The only issue was the added burden. He now had 5 stats to invest in, which made every future decision feel more significant.
The 1000 points from the evolution had gone into this new stat. If those points had gone into any other stat, he would have gained more direct power, something he could measure immediately in combat.
Still, it wasn’t a loss. Every stat had its purpose. As long as he registered more talents and earned more free stat points, he could bring everything closer to the level of 1-path followers. That versatility was its own advantage, though it meant he now had to work 5 times harder to gain and level up talents than anyone else.
With that in mind, his attention shifted to the remains. He turned toward the blood cocoon, or what was left of it. Red dust lay scattered across the ground like powdered residue, marking the place where something massive had been.
He walked over and scooped up a handful. The grains slipped between his fingers as he judged their texture and weight.
"Looks like the treasure is completely gone this time."
Before using his Genesis energy, he had been able to repair the destroyed treasure. Now he couldn’t. Whatever structure had once held it together was gone, erased beyond recovery.
Even so, he thought these remains would still be valuable. At the very least, the researchers could study them. So he decided to gather all of it and bring it back to see if they could use it for anything, even if it only became material for crafting experiments.
After that, he picked up his uniform and put it on.
As he dressed, he noticed the change again. He had grown a few centimeters taller, now around 1.85. His body was leaner, but the muscle felt denser and more compact.
Fortunately, the uniform didn’t resist. It was organic fabric, almost like something alive. The moment it settled on his body, it adjusted to him, hugging every detail and tightening at the waist and shoulders until it looked tailored on the spot.
Adyr checked the fit, then couldn’t help wondering which side was moving faster. Was he improving faster, or were the researchers?
Their new inventions and upgrades kept breaking through day after day, keeping pace with changes that should have taken years.
But when he considered their mutated genes, it felt natural. Each of them was more intelligent than the scientists from Adyr’s old Earth, their minds closer to computers than human brains, a direct result of their genetic mutations.
Before leaving, he checked his new Sanctuary, Sanguine Land, too.
His energy body hovered above the land, and the first change grabbed his attention immediately. The sky.
It was a real sky now. Still strange, but real.
It looked like a normal sky, except tinted red. That color soaked into everything, giving the whole place a melancholic and unsettling atmosphere.
Even the clouds were different. They drifted slowly overhead, their white bodies stained with the same reddish hue.
Another change, or more specifically an addition, was the scent.
The land now carried a distinct fragrance, calming and bewitching as it spread everywhere. When Adyr looked down at the living creatures inside, especially the Suicide Bees, he could see the effect.
Everything looked calmer. Movements were gentler. Even their agitation seemed weaker, with the scent quietly calming them down.
Then he noticed the last change. The two Lands had grown as well.
Together, their total was nearly as big as the new Human city constructed in the Beyond. It wasn’t just a pocket of territory anymore. It was land vast enough for a large city to be built on.
