Chapter 1956: Genesis Beings
Chapter 1956: Genesis Beings
"You… What did you just say? My father is a thief?"
Azurea gritted her teeth as she glared at the sea monster. She could hardly believe that an impudent SS-Ranked beast would dare to call an SSS-Ranked Calamity a thief.
"Azurea could be a bit quiet?" Marina finally chided her little sister when she couldnt take her tantrums anymore.
"Um… what do you mean?" the elder sister then asked the sea monster calmly. She had a feeling that the sea monster wasn't lying.
In fact, based on the way he spoke and carried himself, she was almost certain that he was incapable of lying. He reminded her of a small child who could only speak the truth in the most direct manner, simply because he hadn't yet grasped the concept of deception and self-preservation.
Eren, too, was curious about how the sea monster knew so much about things that someone in his position shouldn't have had access to. While he was indeed a pseudo SS-Rank entity, he lacked both the background and connections within Labh Salem.
It was puzzling how an outsider like him possessed such deep knowledge about the dragons. It was almost as if he had known about them long before he was forced into submission by Marina's father.
"I call your father the bigger thief between us because it was Valys who first stole this Immortal Artifact from Allansia," the sea monster said plainly, shocking and bewildering the dragon sisters. It seemed they were unaware of how the Immortal Artifact had come into their lord father's possession.
Eren remained silent, simply looking at his half-brother with curious eyes. The sea monster took that as a cue to explain further.
"Before Valys claimed it, the Immortalwood Conch belonged to the Titans of Allansia. He stole it from them and captured me in the process.
The only reason he kept me alive after forcibly bringing me to Labh Salem was that my death would have made it easier for the Titans to retaliate against him. So treated me as a servant for his family. How could I not be angry?
He then used his father's influence—the Genesis Dragon of Labh Salem—to make the Titans temporarily halt their pursuit of the artifact within this world.
That is why I stole the artifact from your father. It belongs to the Titans of Allansia, and as a denizen of Allansia, it was my responsibility to return it to my homeworld," the sea monster said, a hint of determination flashing in his innocent-looking eyes.
'No wonder this guy has those golden eyes,' Eren thought to himself as he observed the sea monster.
In his Titan Transformation, both he and the sea monster had golden eyes. It seemed that golden eyes could be a sign of a potential connection to Allansia and the Titans.
It was also no surprise that the sea monster accepted brotherhood with Eren so easily after the latter showed his Titan Transformation to him. Even if the sea monster knew that Eren wasn't a true Titan from Allansia, his transformation still served a connecting link for him.

Marina and Azurea were stunned to learn that the Immortal Artifact, which they had regarded as a family heirloom, had originally been stolen from the Titans.
However, for Azurea, this revelation didn't make her feel ashamed of her father. If anything, it made her prouder.
In her eyes, the fact that he had the audacity to seize the opportunity and then use his influence to make the Titans back off only highlighted his boldness and cunning.
After all, if a dragon wasn't cunning and adventurous, how could he ever become a Calamity Rank beast?
"So what if my father stole that thing from those wretched Titans?" Azurea snorted as she glared at the sea monster.
"That artifact doesn't have a name on it, as far as I remember. Who the hell gave the Titans the right to call it theirs? If they have the guts, why not take it back from my father in a straightforward fight?"
Eren was amused by how blatantly biased Azurea was. He chuckled before confronting her.
"So, you mean to say that as long as a person is skilled enough in the art of thievery and manages to deter the original owners from reclaiming what was stolen, they can keep it for an infinite amount of time?"
"Yes," Azurea replied quickly, without thinking too much—only to immediately regret it. She realized she had walked right into another one of Eren's verbal traps.
"Very interesting," Eren said with a smile.
"Don't get me wrong, I support that logic as well. After all, I have also stol—um… 'borrowed' an Immortal Artifact from someone else. Finders keepers, as I say.
But by that logic, shouldn't you let go of your enmity toward my brother? After all, he was also quite successful in his act of thievery. If success determines ownership, then shouldn't you consider the artifact his now?"
Azurea was tongue-tied. She opened her mouth to say something but couldn't find the right words, forcing her to close it in the next moment in frustration. She was still not entirely convinced.
However, she came to understand that it was pointless to meet Eren in battle of wits. The man was too cunning, even more so than her father, when it came to twisting words and drawing out the meanings he wanted from them.
Eren didn't care about Azurea's temporary silence. He knew that gals like her wouldn't drop the argument just because one won a score over them using logic and reasoning. Azurea was an emotional creature, a nemesis of logic.
As such, it was pointless to spend time to win over Azurea using logic. It was better to ignore her and she'd come back to talk to you of her own volition.
As such, Eren turned to the sea monster and asked another question. He had to talk about another interesting concept he had learned from the sea monster.
"Brother, what is a Genesis Dragon?"
"Valys is the last son of Labh Salem's Genesis Dragon," the sea monster explained.
"As for the Genesis Dragon himself… well… a Genesis Dragon of any world is said to be the first dragon born in that world."
