Chapter 2866: The Lotus Spirit's Gift

Chapter 2866: The Lotus Spirit's Gift

Lin Mu instinctively understood some of them—concepts of balance, life, stillness, and growth.

She lifted her hand, and a single glowing lotus bud rose between them.

"You have touched the edge of the Litany of the Verdant Forest. But to truly wield it… you must plant your roots deeper."

The bud floated into Lin Mu's hand, and he felt it pulse—alive.

"What is this?" he asked.

"A seed of understanding. The litany is not merely a technique. It is a pact with the forest. With life itself. You must see it. Live it."

The bud dissolved into light and sank into his palm, and Lin Mu gasped as warmth flooded through him again.

Visions appeared in his mind—trees growing in fast motion, seasons cycling in moments, life blooming and fading with purpose, not loss.

It was not power for destruction.

It was power for preservation.

A kind of strength rarely walked upon.

The Lotus Spirit spoke once more.

"Will you walk that path, Lin Mu?"

Lin Mu's hand closed into a fist.

He bowed.

"I will."

The Lotus Spirit smiled as Lin Mu gave his answer.

A warmth suffused the realm, and the skies above shimmered as if a forest had bloomed across the heavens. Emerald hues danced with golden sunlight, painting a world caught forever in spring.

"Then receive my blessing, Child who follows the Verdant Path."

She raised her hand. A radiant pulse flowed from her palm—light not of fire or thunder, but of growth. Of life. Of healing.

It touched Lin Mu's chest like dew on thirsty earth—soft, yet inexorably deep.

SHUA

His eyes closed.

His breath stilled.

And Lin Mu's spirit was drawn into the depths of consciousness once again.

There was no form. No sky. No weight of body.

Only sound.

And from the sound—truth.

The Nine Divine Heart Sutras rose around him.

First came the voice of stillness. Deep and resonant. Ancient like the breath of monks lost to time.

"Let thy heart be as the moonlit pond—unmoving, clear, and deep. Release all suffering, and awaken to the boundless stillness beyond form."

The Calming Heart Sutra. The path of the Buddha.

Then came the sound of steel, cold and absolute.

"Sharpen thy will as a blade, slay your mortal bindings and become unyielding in the face of worldly tribulations."

The Severing Heart Sutra. The path of the Sword.

After it, flames erupted in the soul.

Roaring, screaming—alive.

"Ignite thy heart as a furnace, let your rage fuel your strength and unleash rampage upon the worlds."

The Burning Heart Sutra. The path of the Demon.

From chaos, came nurture.

A voice like a mother's, like the wild itself.

"Open thy heart to the world, embrace its creations and become one with them!"

The Nurturing Heart Sutra. The path of the Beast.

Then—darkness.

Soft, seductive. Terrifying.

"Reap the souls of all creations, take their providence as yours and bring forth Hell upon the Myriad Heavens!"

The Murdering Heart Sutra. The path of the Devil.

Lin Mu stood at the heart of these five truths.

They burned and bloomed within him, threads of his fate tangled in their eternal chant.

But now… a sixth voice rose.

Unlike the others, it was gentle. Yet it resonated more deeply than even the fiercest roar. Its melody came not from the heavens or the abyss—but from life itself.

It was the sound of leaves whispering. Of rivers laughing. Of wind through branches and seedlings pushing through soil.

A healing tone—timeless and vast.

His soul stirred.

His wounds, old and hidden, unseen even to himself—he felt them dissolve.

The decay of countless years in cultivation, the strain of every trial and tribulation—cleansed.

And with it, came the chant:

"Embrace the Heart of Nature and bask in its benevolence."

"Cleanse your heart and purify all that taints the worlds."

The voice wove into the air like a living prayer, and the very foundation of his soul shuddered in harmony.

Then came the final verse:

"Behold… the Healing Heart Sutra."

The sixth among the Nine.

Its chant surged into Lin Mu's essence like spring rains into parched earth.

He saw it all.

Forests restoring themselves after fires.

Wounded beasts nestling in blooming groves.

Corrupted lands becoming sanctuaries of peace.

He saw himself standing amidst it, calm and rooted.

Light shining from his hands, not to destroy—but to restore.

To protect.

To heal.

A symbol formed in his soul—a circle of vines around a luminous heart, with a single drop of dew suspended at its center.

It etched itself into his being.

Like a mysterious glyph.

And with it, a new voice emerged in his mind:

Not all strength slays.

Not all power roars.

To heal is to defy destruction.

To cleanse is to protect.

To grow is to overcome.

The Healing Heart Sutra pulsed in him, a rhythm not of battle—but of rebirth. It was the sixth sutra, and the path that it showed was that of Nature.

'The Sixth Sutra... The Healing Heart Sutra of the Nature Path!'

He did not know how long he lingered in that chant.

He only knew he emerged changed.

When the illusion faded, he stood once more within the sacred realm of the Green Petal Urim Lotus.

The Lotus Spirit stood before him, no longer just a vision but a guardian of divinity.

She did not speak. She only smiled.

The smile of one keeper passing the flame to the next.

A lotus petal, glowing with that same green-golden radiance, broke away from her massive form and floated toward him.

It landed gently upon his palm, its weight feather-light yet cosmic in gravity.

SHUA

The moment it touched his skin—it vanished.

No… it was absorbed. Merged with his essence.

The link between Lin Mu and the Healing Heart Sutra grew deep. The sutra instantly progressed from the First Stage of External Comprehension to the Third Stage of Internal Resonance!

It was a rapid progress, far faster than it had been with any of his previous five sutras! Even faster than the Murdering Heart Sutra!

Lin Mu breathed, and the air sang with purity.
