Chapter 3377: Xukong’s New Power

Chapter 3377: Xukong’s New Power

Lin Mu remained silent for a long time.

Even Little Shrubby felt the tension and pressed against Lin Mu’s leg. "We cannot stay here. The channel feels weaker and the beast stronger." His bloodline could feel it.

Daoist Chu examined the trembling walls. "I give it maybe two hours before the loach breaks through."

"I don’t like this one bit." Elyon stated.

Cattaleya added, "And when it breaks, the channel collapses in seconds. We will drop into void instantly."

Meng Bai buried his head in his arms again. "This is bad. Really bad."

Lin Mu finally said, "I may have to use my spatial skills after all. I could attempt to reinforce the channel with Meld or a similar method while also attacking from the inside."

Daoist Chu inhaled sharply. "That is extremely risky."

Cattaleya nodded. "If the anchor slips even once, you will be pulled out. If you misjudge the energy release of your skill, you will rupture the barrier. And the loach is strong. Very strong."

Meng Bai whispered, "So it is basically impossible."

Lin Mu said quietly, "It is almost impossible."

Cattaleya muttered, "Almost is better than fully impossible."

Daoist Chu added, "But you would be fighting blind in many respects. Void beasts are unpredictable."

Lin Mu knew that all too well.

There were very few records about void beasts. Even fewer were reliable. Most came from survivors who had barely escaped encounters. Each void beast had strange, almost unnatural abilities.

Some could shift half their bodies into spatial layers.

Some could invert directions.

Some could appear in two places at once.

And the Two Headed Void Loach was infamous for dual directional suction that could tear cultivators apart even through armor.

Lin Mu squeezed his fists. "If there is no other way, then I will risk it."

Meng Bai looked horrified, but Cattaleya’s expression softened slightly. "If anyone can do it, it is you. But even you have limits, Lin Mu."

Daoist Chu nodded silently. "And this is one of the worst situations to gamble in."

Lin Mu was about to respond when a familiar ripple passed through his consciousness.

It was subtle. Warm. Ancient.

A presence stirred awake inside the depths of his mind.

A calm voice resonated within him.

Xukong had awakened.

Xukong’s presence fully awakened inside Lin Mu’s consciousness.

The ancient being’s awareness expanded like a vast shadow unfurling through the void. His calm, deep voice held a trace of irritation, the kind only a supreme predator of the void could naturally produce.

"So," Xukong murmured. "A mere Void Loach dares to nibble at our channel. Laughable."

Lin Mu blinked. "Can you handle it?"

A low snort echoed in his mind. "In the past? No. Not without tearing the channel apart. But now... after my recent breakthrough and molting, this fragment of power I invested in my avatar has grown considerably. And more importantly..." Xukong’s voice deepened with a cold pride. "We are in the void. This place is my domain."

Lin Mu exhaled in relief. "So you can deal with it."

"Easily," Xukong replied. "Just point the ring at the creature. I will do the rest."

Lin Mu immediately lifted his hand and aimed the spatial ring toward the place where the Two Headed Void Loach was latched onto the channel wall. His companions looked at him with confusion.

Daoist Chu frowned. Cattaleya narrowed her eyes. Meng Bai swallowed nervously. Elyon’s instincts flared up.

Little Shrubby tilted his head and flicked his tail. "What are you doing, master?"

Lin Mu did not answer. He knew they would understand soon enough.

Inside the ring, ten slitted golden eyes snapped open one after another. They glowed like miniature suns, each one filled with the ancient power of the Void Weaver Spider. The darkness within the ring vibrated.

Then Xukong’s voice thundered, dripping with disdain, echoing through both Lin Mu’s mind and the ring itself.

"A mere worm dares to wiggle before me?"

His voice rose, shaking the ambient space of the teleportation channel.

"BEGONE!"

From the ring burst a concentrated aura. It did not roar or explode outward. Instead it simply pressed. It pressed the way a collapsing world might press. The pressure rolled out from Lin Mu’s hand like a tide of death and inevitability.

To Lin Mu’s companions, it felt like an invisible mountain had fallen directly on their backs.

Cattaleya’s eyes widened, and her knees struck the ground. Sweat poured down her temples. "What... is this... aura?"

Daoist Chu gasped, trying to stabilize his breathing. "This... This is beyond even a Transcendent. This is not something mortals or immortals should feel."

"I can’t... breathe..." Elyon gasped.

Meng Bai collapsed flat immediately, unable to resist even a fraction of the pressure. "Master Lin Mu... what are you doing...?"

Little Shrubby hissed sharply and flattened himself, fur bristling and tail puffed up. Even his aura crumbled under the suffocating force.

Lin Mu felt the aura too, but Xukong kept it from harming him. Still, he felt the immensity. Like staring into a bright sun.

And yet none of this touched the channel.

The aura passed through the teleportation barrier as if the barrier did not even exist. It flowed through the translucent film like light through fog, completely ignoring the rules that restricted all others.

Beyond the channel, the effect was immediate.

The Void Loach froze.

Its long body stopped thrashing as if turned to stone. Both heads widened their jaws in silent horror. Spatial ripples forming around it shattered instantly.

Then a sound tore through the void.

A screech.

A horrible screech that echoed even inside the teleportation channel, vibrating the walls and shaking the courtyard. It sounded like a fear neither mortal beasts nor immortal creatures could comprehend. It was the cry of prey that had just realized it was standing before an apex predator.

The Loach immediately tore itself away from the teleportation channel. Its slick body twisted frantically, trying to flee into the infinite void.

But Xukong’s voice returned, calm and cold.

"Now that you have come all this way, you will leave behind compensation."

Lin Mu felt the space around them hum.

Outside the channel, the chaotic spatial energy streaks reacted as if obeying Xukong’s will.
